Good late morning gals! Where are you all?

Just got back from checking on Lily, the white Maine Coon I rescued 2 years ago and gave to a neighbor. I am cat-sitting until Monday. Last time I cat sat, she wouldn't come out from under the bed the first day I checked on her. Eventually she did come out for pets and loving. This morning she came right out when I called her and jumped up on the bed for her love session! She is so big and SO fluffy! And so very affectionate! I tried to get some pics of her but she kept moving and rolling around on my lap, I just got a white blur in my photos!

I have been drinking plain water which doesn't sit very well with my tummy (even filtered water). And no breakfast, so I don't have much energy this morning. Just have a couple more hours to go. Then I will stop on the way home and have a big lunch somewhere.

My goals today are putting away my laundry and cleaning the kitchen. I have some Amazon items coming today as well as my business cards. It is always kind of like Christmas when I get packages delivered because I never remember what I ordered so it is exciting to open them up and see what is inside! Of course I always love what I get and is always exactly what I wanted!

I have two of the Putters league leaders stopping by today to drop off score cards for me. We'll see if anyone even shows up next Tuesday!

Everyone must be getting a really late start to their day or too busy to post. My cataract surgery went ok but, instead of having people wait in the waiting room they had 5 people prepped and hooked up to a drip and BP cuff me included! Almost 3 hours later it was finally my turn and I was really tired of being in the same position. It went well, the doctor talked to someone in the room the whole time he was working on me or at least had a lengthy conversation. In my twilight state it may have just seemed that way. I had a check up this morning and he said all was well except I had to have one drop of something to bring the pressure down in the eye. He said that is needed frequently after the surgery. My vision is really blurry but not as bad as last time. I hope it clears soon. I can't drive this way. I don't feel that great today and it is hard not to bend over with taking care of Pippa and feeding the dogs. I mostly stoop and not bend, good thing my legs are still fairly strong from yoga.
Didn't get to the new puppy party yesterday so off to see her when we pick up Emma. I feel like all I do is take care of the dogs and put drops in my eyes.

Here is my imaginary toast to continued healing! Nothing can get in the between us and our need to keep the dogs fed. I am thinking that hugging a new poodle puppy and a whiff of puppy breath should help boost the system.

The further testing on Miss Audrey came back today. She definitely has Addison's Disease. The treatment protocol is different than it was over 25 years ago when I had a 6 year old solid red English Cocker girl come down with it. She apparently will be getting injections every 14 days. Eventually I get trained to give them to her. Other than the symptom of picking at her food and being off her feed, (Which for a normal ECS is a pretty serious symptom) she only vomited once this morning and has been acting like normal self.

My previous girl was having some cardiac issues before the vet got her diagnosed all those years ago. Here is to advances in diagnostics and treatments. Audrey did use up her share of allowance rather quickly in three short days though..... Jane still has some set aside for a few more dog shows. Lark says if I just get healthy enough to take her for a hike out at the state park she will be fine.

I got my bloodwork done. Then stopped at Denny's for eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and a strawberry/vanilla crepe! Yum!! I am so full! Made a stop at the store and then the library before coming home. Found all my Amazon packages and a bag full of golf score cards on my deck. I had ordered some metallic acrylic paints and some stencils with cat and dog designs on them. They are adorable! I am sure I will get a lot of use out of those. The cat paw print stencils I want to use on this thunder gourd.
Also ordered a new clipper and trimmer for work. My clipper keeps stopping on me so the motor must be shorting out, so I needed a new one.

Just letting my lunch (late breakfast) settle and then get busy around here. It is 97* today! so no outside activities gonna happen. Lola has been laying out in the porch. The heat doesn't bother her at all. I think it probably feels good for her arthritis.

Good afternoon. Not too much going on here today. Just felt tired so just lounging around this afternoon. Still have my cough altho it isnt nearly as bad as it was. The doc said 6 or 7 weeks for it to go away. Well this is the end of the 7th week and I still have it altho I do think it is on the mend, lets hope so anyway. Was outside for a bit this morning and did a few housekeeping chores out there. I really want to put my new patio chairs out but I also know this is just a teaser for the upcoming weather. Another couple of weeks, then should be safe. The chairs have cushions on them but I also bought covers for the chairs so should be okay. Right now they are in my office. I wont plant anything until the end of April, then it should be fairly free of any heavy frosts.

BJ glad your surgery is over and now to get you healed right up quickly. Tina also hoping for a steady management of Audreys Addisons Disease. What kind of shots do you have to give her?? I am assuming a cortisol type replacement along with a steroid??? I only know how to treat humans LOL Barbie I hope some folks show up to play some golf with. Loved your business cards.....you are planning ahead ha ha Judy's RV got new shoes and Beth is just kind of hanging out for a bit on her way to Utah. I have an appointment with a vet on Monday. Most of the vets here are not taking new clients. I need to get established with one even tho it is further away than the other 2 I was looking at calling. After reading the reviews I decided to go with the one that is about 20 miles away. Gets great reviews and seems very professional, they just called me today to confirm my appt for Monday. Nothing wrong with her just need to get established up here. I will still go to my vet down south as they are the cheapest deal around for my vaccines and Heartguard.

I have never before spent over an hour planning gas stops lol. I realize prices are changing daily, but I was planning a stop for gas today and saw my highest prices so far in Texas in this town. So I pulled over and checked another I'll be driving through (and I have plenty of gas to get there) and we're talking about 40 cents a gallon less. Do i started checking places.... And now gas stations with the best prices are on my plans. Who knew that crossing into Arizona was going to hurt so much? I knew Utah would be bad, but Arizona is worse. So am getting gas almost last area of NM and just might cut through Arizona without needing any. I'll probably put a little in my tank before heading into Utah only because I'm driving a pretty empty stretch of road before for awhile there. So that's my exciting evening. (And necessary... Prices are up over a dollar a gallon from what I'm currently paying.) Now don't get new wrong, I've always said we'd catch up to what people pay in the rest of the world. But I'll do my dangest to find the best prices without going out of the way. I guess it's good the RV is doing more sitting then moving at this point in time.

I went to pick up Sugar's pills and then went to Lafayette. Stopped at Ollie's and bought stuff I didn't need like cookies and root beer. Then went to TJ Maxx, mostly to go to the bathroom. I have been wanting a blue jean jacket for a long time and never could find one. I wouldn't order one because the catalogs wanted too much for one. I found one at TJ Maxx and a shirt to wear in New Orleans. Now if I can find all my camping patches I am going to sew them on the jacket. Ollie's had some rose bushes for $5. I'll see how it does compared to the $25 one from the nursery.

Barbie, your business card is so pretty. I am usually surprised when I get a package because I have forgotten what I ordered. Then when the bill comes I can't remember what I ordered. I'm glad it's not 97 here yet.

Tina, sorry Audrey is sick. I'm having a heck of a time keeping up with all I have to give Sugar. I have to write it down. Two pills twice a day and one pill every 8 hours. I am so forgetful I have to write down that I gave her food because in 30 minutes if she has eaten it I can't remember if I gave it to her.

BJ, that's ridiculous that they made you lay there for 3 hours. They need to get better organized. Hope you eye clears up soon. When I had my nose surgery I could hear people talking. When I had knee surgery they did an epidural and I could hear the doctors arguing over which operating table they wanted. I sure did not like not being able to move when I was coming out of the epidural. The doctor hadn't told me that was what he was going to use. That doctor is on my no list.

The Skechers shoes I got have an arch support but it's not high enough for me. I'm going to try putting another arch support in and see if that helps. They are more cushioned than my other shoes that have no cushion.

Beth, around here Walmart has the best prices on gas. Not quite has good as Sam's but better than the other stations. I should have gone to Sam's when I was in Lafayette to see if the traffic jam was any better. It looks like everyone wants gas at Sam's.

Beth, can you be more specific about costs? This might affect my plans a little. Gas prices in northern Florida and southern Georgia yesterday were $3.99 to $4.15 per gallon.

In the 90s and most of 2000s, I had a friend who had Addison's Disease. It was very hard for her to control, but she managed for quite a while.

I am at Reed Bingham state park in southern Georgia, not too far from I-75. I noticed a burrow this morning, but nothing in it. Later, a couple of girls came around trying to catch a loose dog, then I saw them staring at the burrow and saw the gopher tortoise. Burrow is only about 6' from my side door, so I went out and took some photos. It came out briefly, but right now he or she is back inside and dirt is flying, so apparently it decided hole is not deep enough for privacy. Except why in the world would a tortoise build a burrow right next to campers that might have dogs?? Lots of woods and open grassy space here, so does not make sense.

Judy, same reason all those prairie dogs or whatever they were in the Waterton campground on the Canadian side of Glacier NAtional Park all build hundreds of holes throughout the campground . The critters knew that they were protected and could do what they want and the dogs all on leashes..... To this day I know that those monsters were screaming blasphemy about Stuart's mother right to his face just because they knew he could not touch them.....
