I know everyone has given their best advice about electrolytes, but you can over or under dose on these, so my best advice is to talk to your doctor and find out if you are really low on magnesium or potassium and let him or her prescribe the best way to get it.

I will tell you that growing up in a pack of kids does have some negative effects. The biggest one is that you are always trying to be heard above the din of your cousins, so I tend to talk more loudly than I really need to. My kids are constantly reminding me to talk more quietly, especially in a crowd. Another effect is that adults were always trying to get us to go outside to play. I think having anywhere from 5 to 7+ kids ages 5-12 around drove them nuts, and I can't blame them. They also played games with us to see who could be the quietest, and then they gave rewards for the quietest kids! Luckily, our parents were mostly very young also in those days and could probably tolerate us fairly well.

My dad had bought a farm when I was about 6 or 7, and my grandparents lived in the farmhouse, so on Sundays, often quite a few of us showed up there. We had a pond for ice skating in the winter, as well.

I actually didn't accomplish much at all this day...
I have cousins galore and when we get together it's like we see each other every day but we don't keep in contact ... text my cousin today to tell her about my brother so she could tell her mom who is my mom's sister... she is deaf now and doesn't have a phone so go through her daughter..
my dad's brother had 9 kids we saw them fairly often saw my 4 cousins that lived in town more often but for some reason I've only kept in touch with one of them the other's I really don't even know where they live... on my mom's side we have many cousins and I've been more in touch with them on FB then other times.. but again when we do get together we pick up from years back...
have a safe trip Beth

I went to my Meetup meal tonight and the food was great. It was a good bye dinner for one of our members that is moving to Georgia. She is one of my camping friends so will really miss her.

Lyn, you are talking about Claudia that lives in Metairie. I haven't heard on the news that there was damage in Metairie. I think the tornado was farther East. One of my step daughters lives in New Orleans and she was ok. Carolyn was at the dinner tonight. She lives a little East of Breaux Bridge. The storm lasted longer at her house but she didn't have any damage. I just got the tail end of it and it blew for about 15 minutes. It seems that the storms have been going North of here. Maybe it's to make up for the direct hits we might get this summer.

Tina, hope Audrey is ok. I picked up Charlie today. He has to have drops in his ears and antibiotic for 10 days. Another pet I have to doctor. I looked back in my calendar and he showed up here in November, 2020 and moved in with the barn cats. He was in such bad shape I thought he was a lot older than he is. The vet thinks he is about 8. He says he has been declawed too. At one time he was someone's pet.

Cheryl, glad things are falling in place. Hope you have better luck with your new trailer than Carolyn is having. It was in the shop for a while getting new axils. She didn't have it out long, made one trip and it's back in the shop. I never thought about worrying about the builder of houses until recently. They are trying to get a class action suit going against D H Horton in Lafayette. They have built about 15 subdivisions in Lafayette.

I was close to the cousins on my Mother's side. Have only met 2 cousins on my dad's side once or twice. One of my Mother's sisters never had children so we were all her children and we loved her so much. She was so much fun. She is the one that lent me the money to go to college. I paid her back and when she passed away she left that money to my Mother. My son only has 4 cousins, my brother's daughter and my sister's 3 boys. One of the boys did something to my son when he was young. He won't tell me what but he wants nothing to do with them. If I mention my family he says he isn't related to them. My older son passed away 4 years ago today so have been thing about him all day. i miss him so much.

Glad to hear it sounds like those we know in the south have managed to stay unscathed by the storms!

Martha, anniversaries are so hard (((hugs))).

Well, I managed to get nothing done today. Was hard but I did it! I napped off and on until about 3pm. Was very tired. I think the 3 days of work in a row and then the busyness of yesterday all caught up with me. At 4pm I walked down to the meeting area for our "neighborhood" for the earthquake drill. It was kind of a confusing, unorganized mess. There were written instructions left there and one lady read them out loud to us (well, those who were actually listening  ). Most of it went over my head. One lady there was bitching about how stupid the whole thing was and a big waste of time. I felt like telling her to leave, but her husband finally spoke up and told her to go home! I think the organizers of the whole thing need to tweak the plan and try again. It is good to know that we have a planned place to meet in a major situation. I told a few people that we need to know who our neighbors are and be sure to check on them in case of an emergency. We have cards to put in our front windows. One side is green and says we are OK. The other side is red and says we need help. I said we shouldn't rely on those since someone may need help and not be able (or think to) turn their sign over. Hope it gets better organized and people take it more seriously. I need to get an earthquake kit put together for my house as well, especially water.

Velda, I do need to get a blood panel scheduled soon. Just got a reminder from my doctor to get that done.

Hoping tomorrow is a little more productive!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
