Good Morning from the 45th. Cloudy, breezy and chilly out there. 32° Right on the freezing mark. Typical March weather. Storm moving in when it gets it act together. Rain, freezing rain, snow and what not, depending on where one is. Looking at rain here, Maybe kittle mix late this afternoon. .

Shelia, so sorry about your brother. My condolences to you and your family. I too received sad news yesterdsy, that my cousin, as we call each other, husband passed away yesterday morning. We share the same aunt and uncle, she on the uncle’s side, me on the aunts so we go back a long way. He had a heart attack and then stroke which paralyzed entire right side, future was looking a being hooked up to a trach and feeding tube in a nursing home for what was left of his life. Family said no, they didn’t want that for him. He was 80. So I will be going to a funeral Thursday.

Otherwise nothing new here. Just working on crafts and family history. Mouldings are cut and in place in the bathroom, just need to be nailed down. Fence guys says he’s coming today to continue with fence. Should make good progress if rain holds off since ground is clear of snow back there where he needs to work.

Barbie, have you had your potassium checked lately. Friend of mine had issues similiar to yours and found her potassium levels were way down.
Lyn, great to see you posting more. Martha, hope storms went around you and Beth, hope you can get on the road.

Good morning, well no storms here today...predicting 75° so my plan is to get out when it warms up and spray all the weeds taking hold around my back yard. Rest of the week will be cloudy but mainly dry. Lots of fog predicted for the am but then sun in afternoon and 60's temps. Time to get my butt in gear and get some serious yardwork done in the next couple of weeks.

Sheila, so sorry to hear of the passing of your brother (((((((HUGS))))))). Hope Barbie is feeling better and hoping the storms missed all of you. Safe travels Beth. I know you wont travel if the weather is bad so lets hope it is in your favor.

Shiela, I will be thinking of you and your family as you make it through this part of life's journeys. It is wonderful that there is family around to support your Mom and each other.

Jane and her sister Swifty shared the wins this weekend at the big Louisville Shows. Jane went Select two days and Swifty danced in front of her two days, so they both came home with more GRCH points tucked in their resume. We had a nice visit with our friends Bill and Lyn. Lyn came over to the shows and stayed with us all day Saturday and Bill had home cooked suppers waiting for us Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. They have Audrey's mom and sister. Izzy is now twelve, deaf, partially blind and diabetic but cognitively still connected and maintains her job of monitoring every thing that Bill does.

I had had congestion and drainage for a couple days over the weekend and all the drive north from KY, the sinus just got worse and worse. By Monday morning the throat wasn't in very good shape either and there was the coughing. I gave myself one of the home Covid test that said negative but I didn't really trust it and I had been around folks that really didn't need to deal with getting sick. If it was only a sinus infection heading into my ears, I knew from experience that it wasn't going anywhere without antibiotics. (Did I mention that I love having insurance that doesn't charge a co-pay ot required referrals.) Urgent Care ran another Covid test per my request and again it came up negative and we both felt comfortable agreeing with my assessment of the symptoms. Not feeling great but comforted to know that I now have three doses of antibiotic in me (Karen, I thought of you) and since I am not scheduled to actually do anything for a couple of days, I will take advantage of the day bed in my office and my trained napping dogs to rest up and give my body a chance. All weekend I average about 5 miles of walking a day the KY Expo Center, so resting up seems very attractive to me.

On the good news side, I drove over and picked up my Taxes. I generally have enough taken out so that I don't own but without working the scoring contracts last year it didn't have that chunk of income. I still managed to earn a return on both Federal and State with will cover the cost of the RoadTrek repairs and the work on it's generator. When I was told it would cost $500. to fix,(fuel pump) I hesitated until I did the math and knew that if I tried to replace it with anything it would cost me a whole lot more. Good news, because I really didn't want to figure the bill into my monthly budget or take the costs out of savings. So hopefully the rig is road worthy and I still have some gas money.

Back to my perfect quiet day of resting. It is raining off and on and gray outside so no pressure to walk a dog. Sleep helps heal best.

Safe travels to all out there. I am excited for those that are getting ready to travel in the near future and those that create their own adventures parked in one place.

Good morning, It is chilly and raining off and on here after a beautiful day yesterday. Supposed to rain for several days. I have cataract surgery tomorrow but at least it won't be almost zero wit snow out like it was for the last one!

I made a quick run to town to drop off my taxes. We are under a tornado watch. I am between 2 red boxes on the radar. They keep talking about a flood alert but so far not a drop of rain. Beth I hope the wind has moved out of your area because it is terrible here. I would like to burn the trash before the rain but I'm afraid I would catch a field on fire. I have the weather channel on with the sound off because I'm tired of the alarm. I have a cattlewomen's meeting tonight and I keep waiting for them to cancel it but they haven't yet. School was cancelled all around here.

Tina, congratulations on the wins at the show. Your friends took good care of you. It's funny how animals pick their person. Sugar has been attached to me since I picked her up. She is not happy if she doesn't know where I am. I have left her with my son a few times and he says she mostly pouts in the bedroom. Hope you get to feeling better and get caught up on your rest.

Barbie, hope you are feeling better. I would like to get a blood work up but can't find a doctor. I think my sister goes to 10 doctors and I can't find one. Harold had a doctor friend that he always went to first no matter what was wrong. His friend is a surgeon so don't think I'll start there.

My electricity just went off for a minute and I was afraid I would lose my post. Hope it posts.

As to potassium, a blood test can show normal, even of you are symptomatic of low potassium, or low magnesium or sodium! The body pulls minerals from other places like bone, to maintain homeostasis (normal in blood stream and to maintain life). Watch either Dr Ken D Berry or Dr Berg describe symptoms of low potassium, low magnesium, low sodium. All create symptoms though may not show on blood work. Basically everyone is now low magnesium due to soil depletion thesevdays. Some have symptoms, some just dont recognize their symptoms yet!
There are very good electrolyte powders which are sugar free, and you can add to plain water. If you feel better, then you likely found the issue. I like Redmond ReLyte (favorite flavor lemon lime or the watermelon lime) or LMNT , or Ultimate brands. Do not bother with junk like Gatorade as their levels of electrolytes are barely enough to be on label, much less be effective! I have had symptomatic low potassium and low magnesium for probably 12 years or more though only detected once as catastrophically low magnesium in an ER visit in which they hung a IV of magnesium! I have learned to pay close attention to how I feel. Also check any RX you are on, specifically BP meds, as some have your body spilling potassium, while others have you holding it. Though I take Losartan, which holds (prevents potassium from leaving to an extent), because I eat a mostly meat diet, I tend to not take in the 3000-4000 mg of potassium I need, and become symptomatic if I don't supplement.( Yes you get potassium in food, so in calculating needs, take food plus supplements into account!) Yes you can get absorbable potassium from foods such as avocado, but maybe not enough and you may not eat a avocado every day! My electrolytes are my insurance . Also, if you are under a lot of stress, your body "uses up" more electrolytes dealing with the physiologic aspects of stress. I recognize that so doubled my electrolytes during my bout with CoVid. Do your research, see if your symptoms match descriptions. Try adding a big glass of water WITH proper electrolytes. When I'm symptomatic- which I got a number of times pretty serious symptoms while Mel was sick- and I got home, I mixed my electrolytes and within 10-15 min of drinking my symptoms started to go away, which confirms why i felt weak, dizzy, like out of body- decidedly not good while driving or trying to take notes at a Dr visit! Just remember, this isn't about how much blue box table salt you add (or processed foods often high in sodium), it's about proper balance of the key 3 : sodium, potassium, and magnesium. By the way, if you visit LMNT website, for just a few dollars they will send a sampler packet of their flavors in convenient single servings. I did that and found which I like and which Id skip! Chiefly skipping Habanero ! But mostly I buy and use daily, Redmind ReLyte. Many Keto influencers have a discount code in the title box of each video.
Going to be in 80's here all week, pretty warm for March. Was 64 at midnight before I shut off lights. Removed second blanket and put away!

Cloudy but not unpleasant out. I had to walk to the grocery store to pay for the groceries I didn't pay for yesterday! Went to record my receipt last night and realized it wasn't mine! After thinking about it a bit, I realized I didn't pay! I was at self checkout when the girl came to verify my birthdate for liquor purchase. I was loading items into cart and commented I forgot to bring bags and she said she feels funny without mask. Thought the receipt showed up awfully fast! So off I went! Couldn't even call last night when I discovered it since have no phone!

Windy today but not enough to stop me. That said it's picked up this afternoon so I'm glad to have been of the road before that. Especially as today was all head winds.

I'm at a pecan farm. It's a Harvest Host location. They park us in the rows between the trees. Two others are here also. The trees are barren now. I bet they are pretty in another month or so. But it's nice and quiet. Ty met the farm dog immediately and didn't understand why he had to stay on leash while his new friend was free. Biggest problem though was he has rediscovered burs. No fun.

Anita, you're lucky they didn't call the police. That would have really been embarrassing. What a great story!

Cold symptoms gone, but getting more mosquito bites. Luckily, they are small this time, probably because I just finished my prednisone dosing. Anyway, I left Midway two days early and am headed north. After a couple of days here near Tampa, I will be in southern GA for a couple of days, and then arrive at my spot at Lake Lanier on Sunday. Will be there five nights, but probably only visit my aunt a couple of days.

Just did two loads of laundry and have two more to do tomorrow. One load is bedding and the other is rugs. Did not tell all of you, I think, that I somehow left bathroom sink running a tiny bit on Sunday night, and it overflowed and soaked everything--hall rug, bathroom rug, 8 rolls of TP under the sink, and two heavy bath mats I used, plus some rags to soak up water. It also drained my entire fresh water tank, so at 8 pm, I walked in the dark with just a flashlight with two gallon jugs in hand to get water. It had been a very hot and sticky day, so I soaped up in shower and then rinsed off with COLD water! Luckily, did not have to dodge any alligators!

The next morning, just before my cousin came, I drove to water fill and filled up, then took a real shower. Felt much better. We had a great visit. She is 10 years younger than me, but our parents had cottages on Lake Huron next to one another, so I enjoyed her as a baby and toddler. In fact, I got her interested in horses--at age 3, I had borrowed a neighbors horse for the summer and my cousin used to sit on the ground and move around as he ate. No fear at all. So, now she has her own horse! It was fun talking about our parents, especially her dad, who we now know had attention deficit disorder. He never walked, always ran, and smoke and drank Coke like a madman, but he was great fun and used to plan all sorts of fun things for all of us up north.

Sheila and all, I was always happy that my brother passed away a couple of years after my mother so she did not have to experience that. I can't imagine how hard it has been for your mother, Sheila, to lose so many kids.

Judy, you just have too much fun. I wish my cousins were closer to me but the closest one is near Dallas.

The storm blew through here about 2:15 and in 15 minutes we got an inch of rain. It was probably more than that because it was going sideways. The wind blew a big dog kennel off the carport and across the yard.

I went to my meeting tonight. I usually pick up a margarita to bring to the meeting and both drive thru places were closed . Darn Tomorrow night I have a Meetup meal.

Anita, I wonder if the next person that used the checkout after you got charged for your things. I actually used the self checkout yesterday all by myself since I only had about 5 things.

Beth, I wonder if they let you pickup pecans when they are ripe. There is a campground near Natchitoches that was built in an old pecan orchard. We had a campout one fall and they said we could pick them up if we wanted to. I use to make pralines to bring to campouts and haven't done that in a while. I should make a batch to bring to New Orleans.

I don't get to see many of my cousins very often, but there were a lot of us because my mother and father both came from large families. I was #8 in my mother's family, and there were 27 of us, ranging in age from 14 years older than me to 15 years younger. I was oldest of 7 on my dad's side. But most importantly, I had three cousins living across the street from our house, two next door, two half a block down the road, and one a block away. And for most of my childhood, we all lived within a 3-mile radius! I grew up playing with cousins, both at home and at our cottage on Lake Huron, where there would often be up to three or four families (mostly staying in nearby cabins or stuffed into our tiny cottage.) There might be a couple of the older bunch and maybe 7 or 8 of the younger ones.

I can't remember ever going to the zoo or to my grandmother's house without a couple of other families being there. It was great fun, but we now mostly live all over the country. I keep in touch with the ones that lived next door and across the street to me, the two who spent summers at the next-door cottage, and one older cousin who was my babysitter all the time. Don't get to see them, but I have been calling several during the pandemic to see how they are doing.

The sad thing is that my kids had only a couple of cousins because my ex-husband was an only child, and barely ever saw them. My kids still think most of my cousins are crazy, partly because when you grow up in a large bunch, you all tend to be noisy and talk over everyone else!!

a quite day ... my son in law came over and put the door on the stand I have the air fryer on still haven't used it... been trying to figure out the best place to put it when in use... it's cord won't reach any of the outlets when on the cart... for some reason mom had some time of almost looks like permanent multi plugins put in an outlet...so have been trying to figure out if that would be safe to plug it in of course one of them is the one that I really wanted to use... there are two that are the normal outlet's so need to decide which of them is the best to use.. have the least to move when the air fryer is in place... such a simple thing to get so over-whelmed with... I am probably over thinking the whole thing...
mom is having a sleeping day for the most part right now is the most I've seen her awake all night...
did iron the salvage ends on the monks cloth and counted to find the center hopefully tomorrow I start the pattern not one I've done so looking forward to seeing it progress...
easy supper was just left overs the other day had left over spaghetti not enough spaghetti for the sauce so cooked up some roti pasta combined it with the sauce put some cheese in it and baked it I thought it was pretty good but still had left over's we ate that tonight... what was left tonight was tossed...
my niece manages a couple of motels so I contacted her to see if we could get a room for Friday night she reserved us one 35 a night can't complain at all ... I'm sure there is a family discount in there...
I read on Yahoo tonight about a tornado that hit in Winterset as I read it thought it was Iowa now I'm not sure but the poor woman lost 2 children a husband and her mother... so sad... just heart wrenching
I was going to suggest something to someone that occurred to as I was reading the post now it's gone probably never to return...
thank you all for your kind thought's ... it's hard but we will go on with life ... and one day be reunited
aww I figured it out Beth's stay in the pecan field reminded me of a campground in Utah that was set up in an orchard... and you could pick ripe fruits as much as you wanted... I am not sure if that still holds or if the increase in the use of it used up many of the tree's... did enjoy going there

was making breakfast and thought it sure is cooler than normal ... said something to mom saw her over by the thermostat she beckoned me over said it was turned off sure enough down all the way I said who turned it off???? and why all I know is it wasn't me if I touched it it would go up not down... still feels cool although it does say 67 who knows why probably worrying about bills... paid the electrical bills the other day she has a total electricity house other than the pellet stove in one end of the house so of course it's going to be higher when in winter... and it's going to be higher because I actually cook when mom was here she ate meals from meals on wheels one meal for two meals and then didn't eat it all... and she wonders why we don't want her by herself for a long time???
