Sunny First Thursday in March

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny First Thursday in March

Postby JudyJB » Thu Mar 03, 2022 1:22 pm

At least it looks sunny in most the the country, and it is mostly sunny in Florida.

Lazy day today as I do some printing and work on income tax. More later.

Hi Judy and all that check in!

Judy, it's warm in our little corner in FL as well. It's 82 right now and we could go up a couple more degrees before the sun sets.

The resort we live in is having a Hawaiian Luau this weekend, starting tomorrow and ending Saturday night. Tropical dinners will be provided to all that bought tickets and there will also be entertainment both nights. I bought a couple small mens shirts to wear to the events as I couldn't find anything in the women's department with the tropical flare.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good afternoon,

Sunny day! Catching up on a few small tasks. I've had my income tax ready for e-file for a couple weeks and guess I should file. I owe. :( Planning the 'big' shopping trip in Wenatchee tomorrow. Maybe I'll finally make it to the fish & chips food truck on my way home.

Son-in-law just sent photo of 5 bull elk in the river across from their house.

Sheila, glad you got to attend your granddaughter's performances! All my things, except treadmill, from Amazon come through the post office. I had a large package and the post office clerk was going to take it out for me, but customer behind me offered. Keep us updated on air fryer use!

It is up to 77 this afternoon. It was sunny but overcast now. I got my rose bush planted. Still have a mess to clean up. I need to put out ant poison because they are everywhere. I have a roll of landscape material but don't know where it is. Will have to get some more mulch.

My meals were delivered this afternoon. I'll try one for supper. I can see that if I ordered some every week they would start to back up.

I haven't checked to see if all my tax papers have come in. I got another 1099 today. I really hate to get started on my taxes. I have a rally the first week of April and an RVW campout the second week which I probably won't go to. The way time flies March will be over before we know it.

Sheila, be careful with your air fryer. They put out a lot of hot air behind them or at least mine does. A plastic bottle got pushed behind my air fryer and when I noticed the bottle was starting to melt.

Sheila I think it's great you got to see your granddaughter perform twice. Sorry about owing Anita.

I got my eyes checked today. Went to Sam's Club for a couple things and ended up ordering new progressive glasses there. First time in years I'm not ordering from Zenni. Not sure why I decided to spend more. That's not like me!

I heard yesterday that my first sister-in-law (brother divorced and remarried) was found in a coma the other day. It's believed it's a diabetic coma and she's not coming out of it. She was moved to a nursing facility to be "maintained". I always thought of her as a sister even though we lost contact for reasons we couldn't control.

Martha I had to freeze some of the meals. I've kept track of the ones I like and will be selective in future orders.

Just realized--only 9 days until daylight savings time starts!!! I know some people do not like it, but it makes it a lot easier to get to a campground before dark. Or even do all your driving before dark. Yea!!

Evening All, bone weary tonight. My kid brother had two very serious back surgery over a month ago. He was recuperating with friends who lived near the hospital. He lost a lot of weight and hasn’t been eating. He cane home Tuesday so I have been playing nurse. Nothing like a 78 yr old talking to 85 yr old and each talking about a different subject. Lol Today was the most positive with him eating a large lunch and the two of us taking a walk, him with his walker and me trying to keep up. On my way home I picked up a fast food cheeseburger with fries and had a glass of wine. I’m trying to stay awake, not sure if it’s stress, walking or wine. Be safe

Beth, sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. I'm still close to my brother's ex-wife. She is the mother of the only girl. I had 2 boys and my sister had 3. My brother passed away in 2000 and she and my niece planned the funeral. My brother is buried with his ex-wife''s family. After that circus the family joke is you better behave or we will let Dot plan your funeral.

I put some of the meals in the freezer. I'm glad I can burn trash because of all the packing that comes with the food.

I'm looking forward to the time change. It's staying light a lot longer now and I can get the dog walked and the cats fed before dark. Before I had a hard time getting home before dark if I went to town.

Shirl, hope you can put some weight on your brother. I picked up a big frozen Margarita when I went to Lafayette and it's in the refrigerator. I just drink a little of it every night and it will last all week.

made it back to Mom's today she will come tomorrow... by 3 according to brother  I need to go to the store for the very least milk and milk products... I need to look at the asparagus that is in the fridge and see if it's any good.... if so will have some sort of protein potatoes and the asparagus ....
Anita there was a fish truck in town today... it's really good and if it had been a different daughter that brought me from Idaho to WY I'd gone over and gotten some however my 2nd daughter doesn't like fish... so next time they are in town... it's really good fish...
Martha thank you for telling me about the hot air from the air fryer... I am torn not sure if I will get a good power cord and just use it from the cart or if I will put it on the counter top... it won't be pushed back against the wall though as it won't fit under the cupboards... I want to get a bottle to spray oil with I'm sure that my mom will question why not use pam but from what I understand it's not to be used in the air fryer and actually hear it's not good for a lot of pans I use it cause it's here in my home I don't I don't like to breath in the fumes.. it will be fun to try some new recipes.. and to reheat some of those things that never taste that great reheated in the microwave...
am tired and being a rebellion I turned the heat up to 70 will need to turn it down but boy does it feel good to be warm although the pellet stove hasn't come on... may need to be cleaned out will look at it in the AM
had a pedi before I left Ogden this morning feels so good!!!! my feet are so dry and callused for awhile it will feel so good...
I think I want to go get some crackers and cheese would have hot chocolate but the milk is pretty old so concerned that the milk if not spoiled is close to it and the heat will up it... so no hot chocolate unless I do the mix one might taste good.. it's so not chocolaty though
I am so glad that I got to see my granddaughter in the musical was really impressed with it...
got most of my stuff put away... or at least in areas where it feels like it's put away...
when I went to Walgreen's I picked up a tin of cookies... those that are out a lot at Christmas time.... in the different shape? this wasn't the same brand but I got it after all it was only 1.50 left some for the Ogden bunch opened them up broken and the taste is not the same just off not sure it was worth 1.50
it was so nice temperature wise in Utah... it will be hard to get used to the colder weather...
you all have a great day

Just got into bed and opened my window since there is a nice cool breeze outside. Then I heard a strange noise...rain! :o Just a few drops so far...

Felt a little better today but still a little "off" as far as balance goes. I had an intermittent sharp pain in my left ear all day so am not sure what that is about. Nothing since I got home tho.

Was fairly busy at work but not like yesterday. Seemed like a super long day tho! Then just before closing I got a customer in. He really pissed me off and was lucky I decided to take the "high road" and not stab him with my scissors! He made a derogatory remark about the Covid restrictions and then said "pretty soon they will try to tattoo us with the Star of David". I was livid! I just kept quiet and finished the haircut as quick as possible. He is really lucky I am not Jewish!

Just had some hot cocoa and Baileys so hopefully I will sleep good tonight. (Well, the rain stopped after about 10 drops! ) I get to sleep in tomorrow! Yay! Then get some projects done tomorrow.

Beth, sorry about your ex-SIL. My mom went into a diabetic coma on Christmas Eve one year at the nursing home and they couldn't get her out of it. She was having seizures too. Even the paramedics couldn't get her to come around. Once they got her to the hospital, she coded in the ER but they were finally able to get her heart going and bring her out of the coma. Very close call and very scary for me!! I was a wreck. My brothers were upset that I was late getting back from the hospital for the Christmas Eve dinner and gift opening. I should have just stayed at the hospital that night.
Beth, I hope she can still come out of the coma but it doesn't sound good. Will send up a prayer for her.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sheila, I almost never add oil to anything in air fryer. It's just not needed. If oing veggies, you could toss them in a bowl with a very tiny amount of olive oil, but most meats and fish just don't need it.
We had another quiet day. Clouds overhead all day nut not a drop of rain.
I'm still very tired, and sure wish I could go see chiropractor as my right shoulder is going me fits. CBD cream to rescue,
Sure hope by a week from tomorrow I test negative and can at least try to do a little more.

Sheila, like Velda I use almost no oil in the sir fryer and when I do, I add it to the product before putting it in.

Velda, I'm so sorry this is taking so long, but glad you are getting better.

it was 3:45 I think when they got here I guess my niece discovered that "grandma" left her phone being non verbal it took awhile before she could make people understand what the issue was... and thankfully the therapy person was there so sil could take the phone and met up with them so they didn't have to go all the way back I was beginning to wonder though...
I went to the store got the stuff needed or wanted or just hey that looks good... decided that I was going to use the free mask that the govt gave out couldn't decide how to put it on will have to talk to someone about it either that or one size doesn't fit all
almost bought a cook book on air fryer's but it was Sunset that mag is expensive can't imagine what the cook book magazine would cost...
one of my friends from Q called (they no longer live in Q) rarely hear from her but was driving so called back went to voice mail sure hope all is well when people get to an age you do wonder... I left a message asking her to call me back but she hasn't yet will call tomorrow I really hope it was simply a want to talk... I think her husband has dementia to some degree it's hard on the spouse...
my sister in law died a few years ago.. she was diabetic and that was the cause of her death.. I actually think she went into a coma and just couldn't wake up... my brother found her can't imagine how hard that had to be... I hope your sister in law pulls through Beth...
guess my brother has to have a blood transfusion every Thursday... that would also be hard to do but then people go through dialysis several times a week...
well I ought to go to my room before I get caught up in this Murder She Wrote... all though it may be too late  need to play a game though...
you all have a great day

Sheila- you don't need to buy a Air Fryer cookbook. I've found the best way to find a recipe for air fryer, is, to figure out what protein I want to use, then either google search or use Pinterest and put in air fryer and the type protein. You will find thousands of great ideas! And it's free! In thus day of high prices, free is good. With a smart phone you could even potentially do that standing in a store if you found a meat on sale amd wanted ideas for what you need! Like Beth said, you don't need a mister or other special gadget, though I'd dump Pam, which has nasty Chemicals and dangerous seed oils. Just use a tsp of olive oil in a bowl to toss stuff like veggies.
