Morning all. Cloudy, 14°, some light snow coming later.

Reading about coffee yesterday was Interesting. I don’t drink it either . Don’t care for the taste of it. Used to drink tea, but haven’t been doing that much either. I have a Mr. Coffee in the basement gathering dust. Keep it around for company, which if I’m lucky, might have some once a year and not worth keeping coffee in the house for that. Should just get rid of it.

Been working on the Ancestery over the weekend. Finding some missing links which hopefully will answer a few things I have been wondering about. Got as far as Great Grandparents and stopped there for now. Want to go back and do some more research on the family I have on the tree and add some more info, then print that part off so I will have that info for reference. Shelia, your family goes a long way in the area where you are. That would make for some interesting stories on here, of how They originally got there etc.

Think I will make a quick trip to town this morning, then won’t have to go in till later this week. Going to be out of ground Turkey for the dogs and can’t let that happen or Molly will let me hear about that

Morning Sue and All, sunny and 40°looks like another chilly weekend and then temps in the 50’s. Still pampering pot of tulips, parsley and chives from last summer. As a child I drank coffee flavored milk. I feel my two cups of coffee in the morning sharpens my mind. (Please don’t laugh, it isn’t polite). Lol. I started packing up some clothes that I haven’t worn in a couple year to donate. No other plans for the day. Be safe

I had my two cups of coffee and now I'm sweating. It's not the weather because it's 45 outside. Shirl, I don't know if it sharpens my mind but it gets me moving if just to the bathroom. It's suppose to start warming up and be in the 80's by the weekend. I wish they would fix the local weather on the Weather Channel.

Barbie, when I started looking for people to camp with when my boys quit going I found the same thing you are finding with the couples. I tried a couple of Good Sam Chapters and it was all couples and I felt like a fifth wheel. The women were not very friendly at all. I was so happy to find RVing Women. I use to drive 500 miles to camp with them in Texas. I still have friends from then and usually see them somewhere every year. Now I belong to so many women's groups that I can't go to all the campouts.

My Vivofit quit working yesterday. It probably needs new batteries. I don't have a screw driver small enough to open it so looked on the web site to see what batteries I need. There's a Battery + store in Lafayette but I will probably have to wait until Wednesday to go. The store is on the parade route and there are parades today and tomorrow.

A friend had looked up some genealogy on my dad's family and there are so many John's that it's hard to keep them straight. I refuse to pay for Ancestery. They took over all the free sites. One of the shows I like is Finding Your Roots on PBS. They can sure go back a long way.

I guess the cats would like for me to get dressed and go feed. Sugar got me up at 6:00 and all she wanted to do was stick her nose outside. I tried to go back to sleep but never could.

If alive my mom would be 106 today. So I wish her a happy birthday in heaven. There's so much I'd ask if she or my dad were still alive ( he died when I was in high school). I no longer do much with genealogy because no one wants it when I'm gone. I have a couple cousins who continue with it so I keep up with what they find.

Barbie, years ago I workamped at a big park and we singles started unofficially getting together. We even had our own table at the holiday meals. And last year at a smaller park for a week I was pleasantly surprised to see planned single happy hours twice a week. Being a small park I was surprised that a dozen singles were at these happy hours. If you even start with something simple this you'll be able to all meet and consider other things you might like to do that you feel like 3rd wheels at.

I'm thrilled to have a sunny day with more to follow. And at 59* right now heading to the upper 60's. The next 10 days all look good. I'm happy.

Morning. I have family members (most I have never met) that are heavy into the genealogy. My cousin tried to get me into it but it didn't work. I only like the stories my grandparents used to tell me, past that these are people I never know so guess this is just not my thing.

Finally showers are finished and no more worker bees disrupting my house LOL But they turned out great and I am super happy with them. My bathrooms are small and the tubs had those glass doors on them so made them seem smaller. Now when I pull the shower curtain back it sure does open the room up. I only got one bathroom back in order as I am still waiting for my shower rod I ordered. It is coming this week.

I have had my two cups of coffee (which I love) and breakfast so now time to get busy. Having Teriyaki Salmon tonight, havent had that for a while. Have another load of laundry this morning, and need to vacuum my bedroom with the big vacuum. Get all that deep down dirt. Oh yes and dusting is definitely on the agenda. It is 57 out right now with a light breeze and it feels so warm after our low 20's a few days ago. High will be 63 with rain coming this afternoon.

Another sunny day in Northern California. We ( son and I) still don't feel great and again tested strongly positive on Rapid test at Med7, on Friday. So we are pretty much stuck at home for now. I don't like coffee, never did, even married to a Navy Chief did not change that, hence I have several coffee makers to dispose of.
Barbara, heat index is why you see warning at 115 and LA at 95. It's a relative health risk calculated on temperature plus humidity. It involves how fast tne human body can evaporate perspiration , thus cooling the core body temperature. In dry air of the desert, faster evaporation, so a higher temperature is tolerated.
Ancestry is free for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ( what was called the Mormons). So I have access to all of it. I haven't done much recently.
I'm not a person who normally naps, but this virus has both of us napping each afternoon then falling asleep in front of tv too! Very annoying. Be so glad when we both are better.
Sorry if I miss stuff, but just not focusing well.

My younger son and his wife who live in Ohio, both drink coffee and work out of their home. Son does travel maybe 30-40% of time, but between the two of them, they kept going through coffee pots, so son went out and bought an $800 coffee maker. I had no idea you could spend that much on a coffee maker!! They go through several pots each day, especially when my son is home.

I really wish I had been able to ask my maternal grandmother questions about her childhood and family. (I never met grandparents on other side because they died before I was born.) Ditto for my grandfather who worked in the Ford Foundry since 1915. He was a supervisor and knew Henry Ford. However, my grandmother had 12 children and my mother was #6. That also meant a lot of grandchildren, and i was #8. Right after i was born was the end of WWII, so there were even more grandkids by the time I was 5 or 6, so I was never anything but one of a mob of grandkids. Never stayed with my grandmother, for example, and never went anywhere with her, so really did not have a very personal relationship. I don't even think I was ever alone with her. Mostly, the aunts, my older girl cousins, and I played cards with her all the time.

The naming thing is a real pain in doing ancestor research! One side of the family had Thomas Easton, whose son was Thomas Easton, whose son was (guess what?) Thomas Easton. And that does not count the cousins with that name. Ditto for a string of Robert Petch's!! I started numbering them. I even noticed that the church records sometimes labeled them with the names of the farms they worked on!!

Off to have my caffeine via a bottle of Coke!!

I was so happy to find a local Good Sam’s, joined and was the only single. I joined the others at A Good Sam’s meeting in Frederick, Md. My chaper also brought a single fellow for me. He did not rv, believed in reincarnation and told me as he lowered his voice and batted his eyes “he a
was looking for someone to share his life with”. I went home early and never went back to another chapter meeting. Was a shame they had cool tee shirts. Lol I then joined RVing Singles which I loved and had many good times.

Snow overnight, but now raining. Passes have avalanche warnings so there are/will be closures.

I heard stories about wives not liking single women around. I think Beth has a good story about that when she was warned about a wife ahead of time. Apparently, I was never considered a threat in the RV world or the Sling world.

Genealogy isn't for everyone. Steven was patient and helpful making copies, preparing headstones for photos, etc. He visited his family in North Carolina one year and went to the local genealogy library. He handed me some papers when he got home and said he didn't know if they meant anything - he just knew it was a familiar name. They were copies of family records in his great grandmother's Bible! I had been stuck on that line.

It's a cloudy day so I'm blaming that for no ambition - again!

Oh, Anita, I laugh every time I think about that person. I started to type lady, but she doesn't fit that designation. I think it surprised me more as it was my first year out in an RV and I certainly didn't expect that reaction. For those of you who might not know, I had just checked in and was finishing hookup. Had not talked to anyone except the people in the office and this female person came up and told me in no uncertain terms that I could not speak with her husband. And that no woman of morals would be traveling alone. I have no idea if I ever spoke with her husband as I'd never know who he was. I did tell the story to the people at the whirlpool, saying I wanted to make sure I didn't cause a problem. They immediately knew who would have done that. It did make me happy to find the ORS singles group after that. Then later this group.

Oh Beth you hussy LOL What a nerve that person had. Always amazes me that women think we might be after their husbands............geez just shoot me now. I really enjoyed the ORS group, I met some super people there AND nobody was hitting on anybody (well usually).

My day was fairly uneventful except I was outside and it was quite windy and it sure did kick up my allergies. I have spent most of the afternoon blowing my nose and coughing my fool head off again. You can bet I will be taking my allergy meds tomorrow.

went to the play again was still very good... so worth coming to see it and my granddaughter still did so well!!! was so pleased at her ability even if I'd been down in AZ I planned on traveling up to see it..
at least I didn't have to travel so far...
I need to start taking notes so I will remember what replies I'd planned on making
I understand that they are going to have some docent's at the ranch for the summer it will be interesting to see what information they give out as "history" although I am glad that the park is going to be doing this I've often wished that they had docents and had the pink house open so people could walk in and see I'd take them in the south door and out the east door...
for some reason I can't turn down my speaker on the laptop... won't show up so I can adjust it...

dd took me to Costko and Winco I like Zoom cereal only place I can find it is at WinCo so got 3 boxes... the Costko trip was expensive but knew that it would be
DD had a left over King Cake that she had to go to Logan Ut to find so asking a question that those who have had King Cake can answer... they remind me in some ways of a cinnamon roll (I used to when making Christmas treats make a cinnamon roll wreath sorta roll up the rolls to where you would cut them only shape them into a circle slash around them and raise and bake frost much easier that make cinnamon rolls to give larger families got a bigger circle smaller one a smaller one) so they remind me of them to a point but then they don't so tell me what the difference is...
my granddaughter just got home in tears think it was emotional saying good bye to a "family" that she has been a part of through out high school... as many of the kids did many of the shows... and other than a spoof on Hamlet this is the grand hurrah so sad!!! the end of school can be hard... and it's a few months off

Oh Jenny is having so hard times some how her kitty Moochi got hold of some drugs (as in Opiates) and is not doing great lots of money to vet... and still having a heard time..

I have to add this my granddaughter was nominated for best supporting cast member if I got that correct... but dd says it's very political and this school hasn't gotten it for many years so they aren't planning on it but it's state wide and still quite the accomplishment
