Last Thursday of February

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Thursday of February

Morning all. Sunny and -1°. Nice day on tap. O’Sharon, hope the storm isn’t hard on you. If you don’t get any more sleet and snow than we did he probably won’t even bother with the blower.

Shelia, hope you get the car figured out. They are making them too complicated these days. Maybe I’ll just keep my truck till it falls apart  Not that some of it isn’t good, but I think they are going overboard. More things to go wrong and now with the chip and parts shortages, you are lucky you can get anything repaired if you do break down. Shirl, how is your garden doing? Velda, glad you are starting to feel better. Martha, no rain gives you a break from mowing. Seems like that’s all you were doing for awhile there. Course if you’re getting bored…

The news is filled with the Russia/Ukraine situation. Definitely worrisome, but all we can do is wait and let the powers that be handle it.

Nothing exciting on the agenda today. Heading to town this morning to take last of donations in. Pick up a couple things at the store and get the paint for the basement. Fence guy texted me yesterday that he is planning to come Saturday. Wants to move as much of the fence, except for the front line, that he can by Sunday night. Has a bathroom remodel to do starting Monday he said.

So, guess I had better get moving here. Have a nice day everyone. Stay safe and hunker down, those of you in the path of this storm.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow~~~

I'm so over Illinois winter weather, although it has been mild by Illinois standards. It snows, melts, gets cold and repeat.

Lyn I'm sorry to read about what's going on with your living situation. Hopefully things will work out in your favor.

I'm starting to make reservations for hitting the road at the end of April. Being here for 9 months has made me weak. I usually want to stay in state parks, but now I seem to be booking KOAs (yes I know everyone hates them) and other private CGs, but something has me worried and afraid right now. Not sure what tho. Hopefully once I get back on the road, I'll get comfortable again. Maybe it's that I will no longer have Dad's as a go to emergency place if needed (remeber when a guy hit my old camper in Louisiana and then the hail storm in Cheyenne?) Fingers crossed.

I do need to really start thinking about a place to land when needed. Think I'll check out Tennessee on my way south this fall.

That's it from here. Have a good day ladies.

Good morning. We broke a record here for a new low. Was 21 on my decks but the new official record low said 24. They need to come to my house LOL No snow just cold but also no wind so it really didnt feel that badly outside. My master shower is almost finished, put the drain in yesterday (as they had to move it over to the center from the right side) and will need to put the trim around and the fixtures back on. Thought I better order myself a shower curtain and liner...........but forgot I still need a rod. Will just go next door to Lowes or Home depot. The crew is coming today to take out my guest bathtub. Then Friday the plan is to be done..............we shall see LOL

Emma is loving all the attention she gets from all the workers. They cant get over how quiet she is and how loving. Yup that is her, the official greeter. She has a short attention span tho so once they start working she is done supervising.

Took a quick shower first thing this morning so the shower would be mostly dry. Used my towel to wipe it out so hopefully wont be lots of water dripping everywhere. Had breakfast and now just hanging out as I really cant get into any kind of project while they are here. Hopefully this will all be over by Saturday.

Afternoon All, it’s cloudy, 34°and we have had wintry mix and now rain. I think Mother Nature needs some Prozac. I had an important errand to run but not going to drive in this unpredictable weather. Snow is bad enough but afraid of ice. Another loungewear day and had an unhealthy sausage gray over toast breakfast. Sue, yesterday was 70° on the balcony so moved mini greenhouse into sunshine. The pot of tulips has some 1” plants peeking out of the soil so moved it to the sunshine too. Of course had to move them to a protected corner last night. Maybe it would help if I took Prozac. Lol I have some home chores to do. Be safe

Good Morning, Boy! Is it cold here!! Lots of snow up in the mountains, makes it miserable down here. I won’t be swimming in this weather.
Head still going around in circles. Spending time investigating different living situations . Making many notes.

Feels like winter here today... Low 40's walking this morning. Nothing compared to those of you in real winter, but remember it was in the 80's here yesterday at this time. On the way into town I hit a pot hole, not even a terrible one, but my low tire pressure light came on. Was headed to Sam's Club so pulled up to the tire/battery area and they checked all my tires. None low (third time the dang cars electronics have done this). But by checking the sensor reset as it has every time. I feel like the car is crying wolf lol. Got my little order and headed home. A pickup felt the need to fly around me... Kicked up something that hit my windshield and now have a ding. Now I'm about to see where I might get it fixed. I like the roadside guys who fix dings but don't know if I'll find one of those.

Another chilly post! A light snow overnight, but snow is now melting off the roof. At least there's blue sky.

Cheryl, I think you'll lose those thoughts once you are back on the road. I think I had them just about every time I moved. Hopefully, you won't have any more issues that give you a need for a place to land. Karen, glad your remodel is progressing. Shirl, I miss being able to plant tulips! Sheila, hope you get the car figured out. I still have some learning on mine with the fob. Lyn, I hope a solution falls into your lap!

It's after 1 and I haven't made a move to get ready for the day other than 3 cups of coffee! Placed a Walmart order to be shipped. Bought my airline ticket for Iceland/Ireland trip. BFF and I reserved Panama Canal cruise for next January.

Cheryl, like Anita said I think once you get on the road again you will feel better. Thirty years ago I was under a lot of stress. My mother-in-law's health was failing , my son was in summer school in Mississippi and my job was crazy. I was going to Mississippi every weekend and I was having panic attacks every time I had to go over one of the high bridges on I-10. I had never had something like that before. When I haven't driven my motorhome for a while I am nervous when I first start out but it soon goes away. I would like to stay in a state park a lot better than a KOA. About the best thing about a KOA is that they are easy to find. If you feel you need a place to land I have a big yard. Escapees have parks in several places. You could buy a lot like Beth. Somewhere it doesn't snow. lol

I finally got around to posting the Mazda for sale. I think I have a sale for it if they don't change their mind overnight. I'll see in the morning.

Lazy day, but I caught up and posted three blogs on my blog site. Also started on my income tax, but since I don't get mail often, I needed to download all the w2 forms from various sites. I use TurboTax and it is pretty easy.

I have been working at getting my shower clean now that I fixed the door handle. However, between the three pieces of glass that makes up the door, there are two strips of plastic that keep the water from coming out from between them. They have become very yellowed, so I looked up the price on Home Depot. Would you believe $70 per piece? I need two so that would be $140 plus tax and it would have to be shipped to the store!! And because the door pieces overlap, I am not sure if it is really needed, so going to remove it and see after my shower tonight if i really need it. These are just long pieces of clear silicone or rubber stuff, so amazingly expensive, I think. Looks like this:

Go to drive over to Audabon COrkscrew Swamp Sanctuary tomorrow for the day. ENjoy the birds and alligators and the long boardwalk there. Otherwise, leading a pretty boring life.

Cheryl, I agree what Anita and Martha said. When I sit all summer at a workamping job and don't pull out for a weekend occasionally, I get jitters, too. But as you commented about how some of us feel about KOA's, most of those give me jitters too. That said, do what you have to starting out and hopefully you'll get comfortable again. And there are lots of options.

Good luck on the Mazda sale, Martha.

Judy, I'm going to look into completely taking my shower door off this summer and putting in a rod and shower curtain. I've always wanted to do it but have fears that I'll have trouble cleaning up the glue, etc. That said, it's a pita to clean as is, so I've put it on my list to do this summer.

I use an online tax service also, just a different one I did my taxes a couple days ago and was surprised that I've got a decent refund coming. The IRS has accepted my return and says if all is good my refund should hit my bank in about 3 weeks. Fingers crossed.

Beth as you know I am putting in a couple of walk in showers. I am NOT having those stupid glass doors. So hard to clean, the rubber gaskets at the bottom (if they have one, mind did) and the mold and soap scum that builds up kept me busy. I have glass doors right now on these 2 tub showers and I told them to take them. They wanted to know if I wanted to keep them, maybe sell them, I said NOPE you take em LOL Took out my second shower yesterday and will be back today to finish everything up I hope. I like the shower curtain idea as you can change the decor if you want, throw it in the washer (not dryer) because they do all get a bit of mold at the bottom after a while if you dont. I will post pics when everything is done.
