The Scottish and Yorkshire process is you name first son after your father. So if you were Joseph, and your father was William, your first son would be William and his first son would be Joseph. Problem comes when you have three sons you had named william, Robert, and John. Each would name their first sons Joseph, after you, and second boy after wife’s father. Ditto for women naming first daughter after her mother and you had multiple daughters.

So Eastons had a lot of Williams, Thomas, Joseph, and John in each generation!!! Women were mostly Jane, Sarah, Hannah, and Mary. Cousins seemed to all have same names because they had same grandparents. Plus, if they did not name kids after grandparents, they named them after siblings!!! Luckily people marrying into family brought a few names. They didn’t always follow these naming conventions but did it often enough to drive you crazy.

Afternoon Anita, management politely asks tenants to clean up after their pets and have bags on posts and trash containers. One day an anonymous tenant taped a note to the entrance door that said “if your dog sh&% in front of my apartment again and you do not pick it up I will pick it up and put it on your car” (just a thought). Lol The note disappeared quickly. Such is apartment living. Judy your rental cottage sounds wonderful. Did the Qi Gong dvd so am gliding around the apartment. Be safe

I remember a former member, named Jill, who was nicknamed the “poop police” when at a gtg she saw a man walking his dog and dutifully picked up the poop. Later she saw a woman (presumably the man’s wife) walking the same dog who let the dog poop and kept on walking. Jill knew where the man’s RV was so she picked up the poop and left it on the RV steps. Later it was learned that there were two similar dogs in the park. Neither the dogs nor the man and woman were related or living together. Oops! I may not have all the details correct...it was a long time ago, but funny.
