I know 55 is not cold for many of you, but it feels like freezing to me in my shorts and t-shirt that I got dressed in this morning. It was 78 yesterday, so this morning was a shock! Anyway, no one is sitting outside today, especially with the strong winds, and I am inside along with everyone with furnaces and electric heaters going!! And now it is raining.
Mobile repair guy did not show up yesterday and did not respond to my text messages until this morning at around to tell me he could not help me because his helper was sick. Apparently, he is older and cannot climb on roofs or reach into the place where my water pump is, so he suggested I call someone to get my tank cleaned out. His theory is that my grey tank is mostly full of soap. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I certainly have not, and since my problems happened all of a sudden, this makes no sense. Anyway, I left a message at another mobile RV guy and hope he is able to help me on Monday. In the meantime, I am "dry camping." Basically, that means I can use hardly any water and take dribbling showers. I have been washing dishes and rinsing them in my dishpan and then dumping it in the toilet, which thankfully is not having any problems.
I have been taking showers using less than a gallon of water! With these techniques, I can manage for two days. Last night shower filled so no time to wash my hair so did it this morning in dishpan, dumping water in the toilet, as usual. Anyway, I am getting tired of all of this.
Also, when i first called this guy, he started to ask me questions and how often I dumped my tanks and if I had been dry camping, etc. The insinuation was clearly that I was a woman who did not know how to handle my water system, which really irritated me. And how in the world could my grey water tank only be full of soap??? Like I had stuffed a bunch of bars down there and never used enough water to flush it away?
OK, I will try to get off my rant and do some reading tonight. I have a stack of books I bought and never read while I was teaching, so I am trying to catch up.
