Tuesday, January 11

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, January 11

I was on a roll this morning. I got up at 7:00, got dressed and took Sugar for a walk so I could get a stool sample. Took it to the vet's office. I passed the beauty shop where I get my hair cut and made an appointment for a hair cut this afternoon. My hair was aggravating me all weekend. Stopped at the deli and picked up a biscuit and sausage patty to bring home and have a sausage biscuit. I wish I could make biscuits as good as theirs but probably a good thing I can't.

My new file cabinet is working out great. So much easier to work out of than the old plastic one. Now if I would just clean my desk.

It's still too cool to wash the motorhome. Maybe it will warm up more this afternoon.

Morning All, a chilly 21° this morning. Tuesday is my usual shopping day but will wait for the balmy 47°tomorrow. Have a Walmart grocery order and picking up a trash can for garden stuff on the balcony. I emailed my friend that I need a cane to walk stairs. Another down side to aging. She said “good, now you can poke people with your cane if they get too close in the elevator”. Edith always brightens my day. Probably don’t need to poke anyone , the way I dress will make them keep their distance. Hope everyone knows I’m kidding about leaving home dressed like a clown. The cane poking might come handy though. Need to find something constructive to do. Be safe

I know I slept in, but I must not be the only one. Yesterday I planned my route to Karen's in March and made reservations to stop and visit another friend on the way, and will call a Harvest Host today for hopefully a one night stay to see their unique location and visit another friend if she can be free. I'm not known for reservations, but times have changed and I have specific places I want to be. I had to take two different sites for my 2 nights at the state park by Port Aransas and got the only site available both nights.

Time to pull out another pair of leggings and get Ty out and walked. I probably could skip the leggings, but I'm a wimp lol and easy enough to remove them if the temps go into the 60's this afternoon.

I am up and feeling a bit more energetic today. So I had breakfast, now going to take a shower and decide what chore I will do today. I did throw some laundry in but I dont really call that a chore. Right now I am feeling pretty good but run out of energy quickly. Going to let the Robot vacuum work for a while. I need to deep down vacuum but that can wait til next week.

Good morning!

I'm sure you are all waiting for the latest snow news! Light dusting and freezing rain over night, but 33 degrees now. Haven't seen any snow removal today that I've seen or heard. Watched people navigate sidewalks that snow was pushed onto the other day. Now an e-mail that they are putting out ice melt - what a concept! They've had some gravel mix and snow shovels available in each building.

The town FB pages are pathetic with whiners. So many want snow removal, but won't read enough posts to find who is available - lazy. The mayor declared a disaster and 22 National Guard came in for welfare checks, supplies and snow removal for those who needed help. Now people are mad because it's only in town - well duh - mayor isn't the county. Gotta just shake your head.

I made headway yesterday and then treadmill came last night. Nearly have it put together. They huge box is on the patio - that's against the rules, but they are never enforced. Shirl, you could have your tent here. :D Martha, filing is something I need to get set up.

Daughter had to reschedule CT scan for Friday. Think we all forgot she was exposed to Covid at school last week and has to be 10 days beyond that.

Gotta get busy!

I will try to spare you the details, but some of super glue on my mouth incision had been loosening up, and last night a big flap was hanging down. (It was not as big as it felt, but it was irritating.) Did not want to pull it, so managed to cut it off with fingernail scissors--luckily no bleeding that I could see and I don't think I pulled out any stitches. Had another chunk I left as it was, but hard to eat or even drink or talk with this chunk of glue. Called my dentist this morning and he finally called me back. Said it was normal for chunks of superglue to come loose and to just wiggle them with my tongue until they came out--easier said than done. I do not want to remove any stitches, but it has been 8 days, so hope no bleeding or damage when that chunk does come out.

Got a hair cut and some strawberries from Parksdale Market in Plant City. They look gorgeous and were picked that morning!!

Judy, I don't think I would eat pizza if I were you. Maybe if you soak it in something. Doesn't that sound good.

I went to a GTG in Florida and Donna took us to a place that had the best strawberry short cake. I think it was in Plant City.

Martha, I think we were both at the same GTG. Fun trip to get strawberry shortcakes! I think you were second on the right, correct?

Here was my shortcake with ice cream way back then:

what about soup the chunky ones by Progresso or Campbells? or make your own also pasta dishes I don't like them over done but can be so or go and have some Pho soup I think is how it is spelled... meat is really tender or smoothies shakes ect
it's quite usually tv is on but guess mom doesn't like this episode of Murder She Wrote so off it went that will get me to bed a bit earlier or would have if I didn't have clothes in the washer that I need to go put in dryer... she could have put on the night news but doesn't think of it but at 5 it's on... it's funny the habits we get into..
like me rarely get on computer till about 9 occasionally earlier but not often formed that habit cause of work kids husband finally it was me time later at night don't have to maintain that now but it sure sticks
we haven't had any snow for a few days guess Anita is hoarding it... it's been cold though don't think it's got about 30 degree's I picked up the phone last night and it was down to -4 just not used to it...
it was pretty much a do nothing day.... didn't even Swedish Weave and only 1 page coloring and 1 word search... just wasn't in the mood to do anything I guess... haven't seen these shows on Hallmark before she is a photographer he of course is a detective... did watch one in the afternoon then the one that came on at 7 and over at 9 or whatever time it is in other places...
did put up the night light found an extension cord and hung it from a shelve mom turned it off I turned it back on then she asked what it was I told her a night light only way I could figure out how to have it out... she just shook her head I did try one spot but it was swallowed up the couch and curtain virtually couldn't see it...
thanks again Judy for the idea
you all have a good night

Was a bit worried about work today with just working with the new gal. But it wasn't very busy, just slow/steady all day. Until just after 4, when everyone decided to come in an hour before we close! Then...the computer locked up on me in the middle of a transaction! That was at 4:45 and we still had 3 haircuts left to do. Finally figured a way around the problem to get us thru the next haircuts but after we finished those, I was unable to close out the system because it thought there was still a transaction being done. I had to just leave it that way. Left a note for the stylist coming in tomorrow morning. I did keep my manager in the loop about that. Hope they can get it figured out. So I didn't get out of work until 6. I am very tired tonight. Been falling asleep on the couch watching TV so now am in bed (10pm) and plan to sleep in tomorrow!

Had a little hint of a nasty side-effect from the meds this morning. I took some Pepto just in case.

Hoping to be more motivated tomorrow than I was on Monday. Need to, seriously, take down the Christmas tree, etc! Also a trip to the library, and a haircut to do across the street at noon. Oh yeah, and call about my health insurance. Still working on pics of Joshua Tree. Tons of pics to go thru and narrow down to a reasonable number to post on here. It is a slow process since I can only post one at a time on here.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Darn about the pizza, but I just added soup to my grocery list for tomorrow. Also added eggs and noodles plus tapioca for soup.
