Busy Saturday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Busy Saturday Morning

Good Morning. Up and at em at crack of Dawn. Had to get a move on this morning. Contractor coming to take out the garden tub in my guest bathroom and install a regular soaking tub. Called me last night to let me know for sure if they were coming. Originally though it might be after the 20th, but they got a bit ahead of schedule, so are doing mine now. So took the towel bar down and put some stuff in closet for now, mostly decorative towels. Moved couple pieces of furniture out of the way in my living room to give them a clear path. Also moved my stove because there are plumbing acces doors behind there. Good chance to clean under it too, not that there was much there. So now am just monkeying in here till the come. Around 10 they said.

Spent an interesting night on here last night. Our NWS office Doppler radar is down for 2 weeks for a Maintenance upgrade. You have seen those big radar domes at their offices I’m sure. Inside is the radar, looks like a giant satellite dish. It is mounted on a big pedestal which Rotates all the time to keep that thing moving. They are replacing the current pedestal with a new one. They have to disassemble the radar and it’s equipment, remove the dome, remove the old pedestal, put in the new one and put the dome back on. The dome weighs 4 tons and the pedestal, 10.75 tons. Needless to say, needs big crane. The dome was supposed to have been removed today and the new pedestal put in, but because of expected high winds, they decided to do it last night. So. NWS went live with their camera and let us watch the whole two hours, it took to do that. Was fascinating. Got to watch the dome being lifted off, old pedestal removed, new one installed and dome put back on. Course some waits between while they loosened bolts/attached bolts, attached/detached straps etc. But gave me and those watching a chance to see what it looks like up on the tower (which is 82 feet high) and how this is done. You could ask questions online and they explained a lot of things. Very educational. Course meant staying up till midnight, but a chance to see something might not see again.

Karen, hope you are continting to get better. With all your coughing, you don’t possibly have bronchitis do you? Been dragging on quite awhile. But the my cousin and her husband both got Covid and were sick over two weeks. Not vaccinated either. They never said the booster or even the vaccine would stop us from getting sick, just not as bad as unvaccinated. Like the flu shot doesn’t guarantee no flu either. Elda, anything get done on your project yesterday. Beth, you sound like me. I getting antsy sitting in one place too long too. Shelia, I clarified the descriptions of the light pillars and sun dogs for you in my General Talk post and added another picture of a sun dog for you to see.

Better get this posted before thry get here. Have a nice day everyone.

Sue, I would have watched that for sure. Fascinating. Now I hope you're taking before and after pictures of the tubs!

I woke up early and had a headache. Took Tylenol and climbed back in bed. Dare I say, I'm still in bed lol. Yes, it's going to be a lazy day. Ty has just emerged from under the covers so we'll get our day started soon, maybe lol

Morning All, sunny 29° but 40°on the balcony. I would hang a big sheet of plastic across the balcony opening and have a sun room but someone would complain. Maybe I could build a tent. Hummm. Tomorrow suppose to rain and 47°so could unwrap fairy lights or not. Just putzing at home. Sue, so exciting, I love tearing things apart and putting them back together. I can only cook and eat here so will make chicken and dumplings for dinner. Be safe and keep warm.

Good Morning, Cold and cloudy again but supposed to get above freezing today. Shirl I LOVE chicken and dumplings could you send me a bowl for dinner!?

Karen I know you have cough meds but I used to get bronchitis and you can only take so much of the codeine cough syrup so I bought a small bottle of Irish Mist liquor and took when necessary (or not) but it was the only thing that would stop the coughing. Hope you are well soon!!!

Sue that is great that you are getting your tub in early, you were very lucky.

So, I had the cataract surgery Thursday morning and my vision is still really blurry. They said might take 48 hours to clear up. Well 48 hours was up this morning and I still can't see much and of course their offices are closed on Saturday. I think it there is still some swelling as eye isn't red, a couple of bloodshot streaks in one corner, and doesn't hurt. I was so disappointed when I woke up this morning and still couldn't see well! I am getting better with getting the drops in my eye though. Oh well maybe by evening it will clear completely.

Pippa suddenly started barking back at me when I told her no yesterday. It is so funny but I don't let her know I think that! I wish I could post a video I took last night of her of her sass!

It's sunny this morning and the Sun is so beautiful glinting off wet leaves and deck rails, sparkling like diamonds.
Yes, things got done yesterday Sue. He finished taping the new ceiling in basement/shop. Next will be "mud" aka texture.
When I head to kitchen, to feed Stormy cat and fix Suzie birds fruit, I'll get started on taking the lights off the tree. When Chris is up, he will help get tree out, I can vacuum up needles, and put table away then move dining chairs out of dining area, so I can get to the hutch.
That's my plans for today. Will see how mch I get done.

Sheila, how about putting a night light on an extension cord and laying it on a table or taping it to the wall with masking tape? And a nightlight behind a chair is better than none at all.

Kids made it back to California very late yesterday after one cancelled flight and a delayed flight. Son is going to head to gastro doctor on Monday. He is out of heavy-duty pain meds, but doing "OK," as he said, on regular Tylenol. Ohio kid with COVID is doing better, also. Her dad says she is mostly bored and driving everyone crazy--she is a talkative, busy kid, to say the least. I will test myself again tomorrow, just to be sure I am still negative.

My jaw is still aching, but I am keeping up with antibiotics and mouthwash. When I look in my mouth, it does look like he filled in my gum area considerably, but I hope it is enough and he does not have to add more-- :( I have to go back in a couple of weeks, so will fly again, which I am not looking forward to. Plan is to be able to get implant peg in April.

Good afternoon!

I had big plans for chores today and then got an e-mail from the office. They brought in big snow removal equipment and wanting cars to move. I went out to see about digging my car out - ha! I could have started on the back, but the snow equipment was running back and forth. Office says I don't have to dig it out, but I may do a little once the equipment isn't out there and some of the hills of snow are removed. Helped kids from Ohio get their car unstuck in their parking space next to mine - put mats behind front wheels and pushed. Convinced them they probably shouldn't try to go anywhere - they would have gotten stuck in the driveway! Learned about the mats from a Hallmark movie!

BJ, be patient with your eye and I'm hoping the improvement will come. I remember a patient from long ago before laser surgery whose vision didn't improve as it should have. Months later it finally happened! Doctor was so disappointed and then elated. Sue and Velda, remodeling jobs are always interesting and nice when they are finished.

Sheila, I don't have to go out if it's too cold nor go to the store often. Of course, I had the choice to be here. Still fingers crossed you'll get to Q. Shirl, have fun with the fairy lights!

Going to see if I can get a few things done before football game. Still packing away Christmas.

I made it south on I 75 past all the vehicles off on the side of the road around Lexington. Raccoon Rally RV park was fulll but I found a very reasonable non fancy KOA just north of Knoxville with a lovely pull through site. We have electric we have heat and I had enough over the air channels I didn’t even bother with cable. Hooked up my electric and said done. The best news is that they don’t expect the temps to go. Slow freezing tonight.

Yay, Tina! Headed south.

I never got my propane Thursday or yesterday and figured they wouldn't show on the weekend. I was walking Ty outside the park and for some reason looked back, and the propane truck was just a few sites from mine! We rushed back. Propane is now full. The guys apologized. Between the holidays and all the parks filled up now, they are super busy. They also told me if I need propane to call them directly and get a day so I'm not just waiting. I'm sure I'll be filling again before leaving.

I never saw the dog that was wandering the park yesterday today. I hope he's okay.

I do believe I'm watching a Murder She Wrote that I don't remember... so now I will have to watch it...
it looked like a beautiful day out today.... sun actually shone blue sky very small chance of snow for several days... if we didn't need the snow it would be great but it is needed will hope for some later.... when we lived in SLC didn't mind not getting it in the valley as it would just melt and go into the great Salt Lake. It was better to have it up in the mountain's did more good... not sure if that is the rule up here or not...
about this time of the night it gets so cold!!! here in the living room some times I'd like to have a thermometer and see what the temp is actually in here...
Judy I actually had not thought of using an extension cord that is probably a good idea... well need to find one... thanks for the suggestion
yesterday I went looking for batteries mom's remote wasn't working and thought I'd bet batteries for that as well as the "alarm's" and a flashlight... replaced the ones in the remote still didn't work... she had an extra one under the tv and it works so that is taken care of the flashlight takes D I guessed C and bought C... got some AAA's didn't need them the "alarm's " need a 9 volt didn't get that one or two... it was really a loss with the batteries....
tried making a sandwich that I liked in Q it's a turkey sandwich with cream cheese and cranberry sauce... was good but was lacking something not sure what it was... if you make it to Q go to main street eatery and try it and let me know what I forgot...
pretty much other than reading scriptures and vacuuming all I did was work on the Swedish Weave it's close to getting done on the one side... just a few rows to go... then on my crochet afghan I'm down to 9 rows I think 2 left on the pattern 6 on the border and 1 for the chain stitch row... figure by mid next week that one will be done and the weave will be done on the one side... if I stay with what I am doing at this time... now to get more yarn for the next one... just not sure when or what colors... she wants in pastel colors blue yellow
lavender (if I remember correctly) and orange... I might give her the same instructions and I did her sister .... give her the name of the yarn and she find the colors she will like...
Anita I don't know how in the world you would be able to dig out your car from the pictures that you posted on FB it was pretty much buried...

you all have a great day
