Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Just took Ty out to pee and could smell smoke. Sadly on nights like this I have to close my windows and door. Oh well, I can open up later figuring they won't keep it going forever. Or I stay closed up tonight. The air quality here has been pretty much in the excellent range all but one or two days, and those borderline under it. That's good for my breathing.

I haven't been doing the bird watching or going to Mexico yet. I'm figuring I'll do lots of that after the holidays. Meantime I'm mainly a slug. And getting cranky about people cutting through my site, etc. Bag humbug lol Actually I don't get mad at Ty if he barks when they do that, but he's getting used to them and recognizing them. But starts up when someone new does it.

Made it to the campground at Myakka, but it was getting dark. Plus, I had a back-in site and my backup camera is not working--probably the cord, but cannot find receipt. It is under warranty, and I talked to technical support for the company, but he wants my receipt. I had it in my hand, and put it in a safe place, as I usually do. And, of course, you all know where that safe place is, right??? If so, please let me know because I cannot find it! I think I will have to call him and tell him to just send me a new cord, and I will pay for it!!

To go outside and hookup, I had to put on long pants and a sweatshirt, plus pull the hood strings so it would close around most of my face to protect me from mosquitos, which I could see flying around in swarms!! Very hard to back into spot in the dark by yourself and even harder to go out and try to attach electric cord and add water to my tank while looking through a small hole in my hood. Really, really glad to get back in and set up. I did smash one really huge mosquito in here, but think i escaped a bite. Will know by tomorrow for sure. I did take some Benadryl just in case. One lady's oncologist says he thinks that if the immune system isn't working, the histamine system takes over and reacts strongly. I don't know what it is, but it sure is irritating!!

I'm so slow getting into anything that I'd probably bring the whole swarm in with me... hopefully you can find something that will help with the effects of the bites...
love your hair cut Beth
Tina enjoy your quick trip and the dog show...
Mom and my brother are here not sure what brother is doing but mom is dozing....
we will go to the funeral tomorrow assume that they will leave mid afternoon but I don't know that for sure... I need to find her meds and see if it's time for them so have to locate him last I saw him he was listening to a game on his phone
I sure wish I could get warm
guess I goofed got a new shower head one of the duel ones was excited to try it out but it splits the water pressure between the two heads so not as exciting as I thought it would be... :o
Irmi it's always fun to have a get away ...
love those decorations Sue you do good work
I think what is important when you do your decorating that you do what is good for you I'm am enjoying mom's decorations but miss some of my own... I'm looking at the wreath I made and am not sure either I hung it not right or it's missing something... but it's sparkly
and it's important to do what we think is right for us individually when comes to shopping I do it myself but understand the good parts of the other... my dd suffers with anxiety and sometimes just can't do the shopping experience too many people too close quarters... so she would totally embrace the concept if she shopped much
you all have a great day

It was only 30* here this morning! Brrr! Spooky was curled up under the Christmas tree on the deck. I have a new cozy cat house for him out there but he has yet to use it.

At work this morning, our assistant manager left shortly after getting there because she didn't feel good. We have our duties for the day listed on the board. Well, 3 of the newbies hadn't been trained yet on the duties they were assigned. So guess who trained them?? Yep, me! I spent close to an hour working with each of them to make sure they understood how to do their task and checked back to check their work. Otherwise, it was a pretty calm day for the most part. I am having a lot of discomfort tonight tho in my shoulder so am putting heat on it and the CDB balm on it too.

After work, I went Christmas shopping. Still had no idea what to get for the previous owner since she didn't fill out her "favorite things" form. I went to the mall and ended up getting her a daily calendar of "advice from dogs" since she has a dog and is going to school to be a vet. Hope she likes it.
I stopped at a WM Market to pick up the things I tried to get yesterday. Later, I ended up ordering a humidifier from Amazon. Lola only sneezed once this morning and doesn't seem stuffed up like she was, so that is good, but a humidifier will still help both of us since it is very dry in here.

A big storm system is heading this way tonight, the same one that Karen and Anne are dealing with. Later tonight and tomorrow we are expected to get up to a half inch of rain and high winds and cold temps. A half inch doesn't sound like a lot but here in the desert we only average 3 inches per year and what rain we get doesn't soak in very quickly so we get a lot of runoff and flooding with a small amount. I will probably have a lake in my backyard tomorrow like Karen has. Lots of snow coming to the mountains which is great! Should be really pretty to look at once the storm clears out! The biggest worry all over CA is the burn areas that will be at risk for mud and debris flows. Many areas are being evacuated due to that risk. Those areas are expected to get heavy rains up to 2 inches.

Sheila, your daughter should come down here to do her shopping! You could have shot a cannon thru the mall tonight and not hit anyone! Pretty quiet for week and a half before Christmas! I stopped at Cinnabon and picked up some mini rolls and extra frosting! Yum!

The governor has issued a new mandate that everyone will be required to wear a mask while indoors in public places starting Wednesday, for a month, due to the large increase in Covid cases recently out here.

Time for bed. Morning comes fast!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
