Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday

Good to hear Mitch is ok. Mayfield, KY the town where so many were killed in the the candle factory, isn't that far away from where she lives. The roof on the Amazon warehouse collapsed and killed several people. The town of Mayfield is pretty much kindling. Death toll isn't known yet as they are still searching. The wam Amazon warehouse was about 80 miles from where I live and Mayfield is about that far in the other direction.

Pippa slept through the night without a peep in a crate beside my bed. Toby was on the other side and thankfully he also slept. I know this as I was too tired to sleep! She did cry when I put her in her pen in the family room this morning while I made breakfast but not much AND she used her piddle pad! Wish me luck, Emma meets her today! If that doesn't go well I'll send her back home with Nancy for a couple of days.

BJ and now the fun begins LOL I was lucky when I got Emma she was an only child. I think that is why she is so bonded to me. She barely lets me out of her sight but she also doesnt have separation anxiety when I leave, which is super good. I tell her I am going shopping (no matter where I am going LOL) give her a piece of her jerky treat and off I go. BUT if I just go outside and close the door I do hear a bit of yipping. Hopefully the other dogs will get used to her but keeping them separated is important of course and you got this. Of course we need pictures LOL

Stormy this weekend, pretty constant rain and wind. I am going to drive up to Cottage Grove and meet Laura for lunch. (the little restaurant we met Barbie at) Laura has a birthday present for her Mom and I am going to Medford on Wednesday for my eye doc appts so I am going to take it to her. Other than a little house tidying nothing else going on today in my little world.

Relieved to hear all our friends close to the Tornado areas are all safe and accounted for.

Here she is in her favorite place Dad's lap. I'm worried in that she isn't interested in eating much and she needs to eat!

Hope I didn't confuse anyone. I split these three posts from the continuation of yesterday's thread and made today's thread. BJ, she is adorable and how awesome that she slept all night!

BJ, you did good! She is adorable. I am sure that you will figure it out without training her to only eat chicken from your fingers...... We both probably know too many stories of how picky eaters got trained by their people to demand their foods only certain ways!

She sure is a cute pup.
We had about 0.41 in rain overnight. Must have been very quiet rain as I didn't hear it on my skylight. Still quite dark and grey here at 9 am. Handyman plans to bring cabinets up today, between rain showers (fron shop to pantry). That will free up shop space for cutting underlayment for rest of floor.
So glad everyone checked in safe from the tornados. Stay safe everyone.

Afternoon All, sunny and cold. Very windy and rain last night. The balcony branch lights went out don’t know why and will think about it tomorrow. Still having a problem viewing Amazon prime videos and will think about that tomorrow also. Some days you just have to walk away. Going to wrap stocking stuffers for 6 stocking, mail cards and make beef stew in the crockpot. Be safe

BJ, pippin is adorable. Nice to have a baby for the holidays.

Pippa is adorable! She might be too overwhelmed with all the changes over the past couple days, to be very hungry. Hopefully, she will start eating more soon.

Lola has been sneezing and very congested since last night. Will keep an eye on her and see if I need to take her to the vet this week. I ordered some L-Lysine for cats that is supposed to help with their immune system and respiratory symptoms.

It is sunny but only 42* yet. Will be inside most of the day anyways. Need to put all my golf counters and supplies away in a bin. Also laundry to do and a little cleanup around the house.

So sad about the tornado destruction! So many deaths and they are still looking for people. :( Feel so bad for all those affected. If it isn't one natural disaster somewhere, it's another.

Hope you all have a good day and stay safe and warm!

I had a big slice of sourdough toast for breakfast which was probably equal to two slices of bread. I wasn't hungry when I should have started lunch so it's going to be late. I had a couple of slices of brisket so put them and two chicken thighs in the oven with BBQ sauce. The brisket will probably be very chewy but I wanted to get it out of the freezer. Since the oven is hot I'm going to bake some of the frozen cookies.

Pippa is so cute. I have to keep reminding myself how much work a puppy is.

Barbie, I saw that someone made outdoor houses for cats out of the styrofoam ice chests and plastic containers. They put the ice chest in a larger container and put hay around it. They cut a hole in the side for them to get in. I haven't tried it since my outdoor cats can go in the old house. The temperature in there stays well above the outside temperatures.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. I finally made an appointment for a check up since my last appointment was 4 years ago. I hope they don't call and want to do the roof tomorrow. I would like to be here when they come.

It's sunny and 70 degrees so I might go fishing. Our cold fronts don't amount to much, it's suppose to be back to 80 by Thursday.

Things were going so well until I went to Walmart! Now I am very grumpy!

I headed to WM to get the humidifier I saw on-line. When I got there, it was the cool mist instead of the warm mist like it said on-line and what I wanted. I finally decided to get it anyways. I did a little more shopping for some groceries and went to the self-checkout lane. No bags. I usually bring some but forgot. So I scanned everything in my cart and went to get my debit card from my purse. No debit card. I decided I could use the cash from the sale. No cash. I realized I had left both at home...I got a WM person and told her what the deal was. She said she would print the receipt and then hold my cart for me for 30 minutes while I ran home to get the card. So I drove home, found the card on the counter and then drove back there. I tried to checkout but remembered she had ran the receipt already. I got her attention and she brought me to another register. Then I couldn't find my card again. It was in the machine at the other register! Ran and got that. Then she ran the card for me. It was declined!!! I was about fit to be tied by then! She asked if I wanted to call the bank to find out what the problem was. I said no, I had had enough for one night, so I left my cart there and walked out. I needed gas so I drove down the street to the gas station. I put $40 worth of gas in and the card worked fine. :? So I get home and get on my laptop to check my email. I have a notice from the bank about a fraud alert. They show my transactions from the past two days and the one from WM tonight was the one they thought was fraudulent! I go to that WM all the time! Ughhh!!!

So I am done for tonight. Am just gonna try to relax and go to bed early.

On the good side, I went on-line earlier today to check on info for the big Gourd festival in Casa Grande, AZ ("The Running Of The Gourds" ) in February that I want to go to. They have lots of classes available to take there throughout the weekend. Some were already sold out but they were the more experienced classes. I found one that still had room and is teaching how to make a thunder gourd. They provide all the supplies that we need to make it (some classes required you bring the gourd and all your tools and supplies!). It will have a southwest theme to it. I signed up for that. Then I found a Motel 6 to stay at close by and reserved that for the weekend. I am excited about going! There will be lots of demonstrations and vendors and contests too. It should be fun!

So at least something good happened today! Just kind of ended on a frustrating note. :(

One of these I will make in that class:

Barbie, I saw on a post where someone was using a slow cooker for a humidifier. I don't know if it would work but you could probably google that.

we have a family chat on FB every Sunday night last week mom stayed on for maybe half hour or less this week just under the hour... like six minutes less or so which is really good... it's as my sister in law says baby steps!!!
last night my girls put up the village there are 12 "houses" with a temple so 13 all total.. takes up all three levels of the piano. Tonight my nephew and his family came over put up the tree and garlands up all over I think 5 garland's. it looks really pretty I haven't been to mom's house in forever for Christmas so had forgotten how much she decorates and has scaled down a lot... I do miss the outside stuff she used to put up several deer but guess they just decorate inside now oh and there are 3 animated things... we pulled a Santa out of a box 72 inch Santa :o it collapses to fit in the box but we couldn't figure out where to put it rather ugly one as well and inside only ... but when we went to collapse it it only went part way then when we put it up it wouldn't stay up so now it's in the garage... over all a good evening
I need to remember to call the florist tomorrow and finalize the plans for the flowers got more money than expected and some want a plant sorta thinking both it's a large family they had 9 kids so another plant to go home with some one hopefully they will get enough plants that all who want one can take one home..my hot chocolate has cooled off think I will go rewarm it...
did get scriptures read and a nap in... ad well as church...they have such a pretty display have the tree up with just red birds on it and tags for names of kids needing gifts then around it they have a wrought iron around the sides and back with some sort of branches and more red birds so pretty forgot to take my phone or I would have gotten a picture of it ...usually there is a tree decorated and not much else. guess it was a Eagle Scout project in years past and someone maintains it now...
still need to finish my wreath want to stabilize the white birds a bit better...and decide if it needs more...
shouldn't it's chuck full but have stuff left over need to find a home for it and not sure what to do with it
BJ a cutie for sure
am so grateful that all of us are doing well... hopefully none of those that we know and are no longer around weren't around it... like Alice for instance
you all take care have a great day

I was thinking about Alice the other day, her and her big Class A, and remembering how much I enjoyed reading her posts.

Does anyone know what has become of her? Hope she is doing well. . .
