Strong thoughts headed your way, Echo! I sure hope that a diagnosis and treatment will take care of whatever this is.

I'll be waiting to see Kelly or Sparkle post with an update.

I haven't seen Kelly today, in fact she probably doesn't even know this posting is on here, but Echo is still in the hospital. I heard she needed to have an EKG done. They usually get you in and out of hospital as fast as they can, so this doesn't look good for Diane. That's four days so far.

dpf had a good idea! If you would like to send a card to Echo, please mail them to: Diane Seymour, Kaibab Lodge, HC 64 Box 30, Fredonia, AZ 86022. What a great welcome home that would be. Thanks dpf.

Thanks Sparkle, for the update and info. Will keep Echo in my thoughts and prayers and try and get a card out before I leave. Tell Kelly to tell her she better get well 'cause I've really been looking forward to meeting her in Sept!! Oh, I did tell you I would be thru there the first week in Sept on the Harley, didn't I? Just to pop in for a few minutes for a hug, (I know how much you love hugs!! ) we're staying at North Rim for one nite and then on to Sedonia.

So sad to hear about Echo not being well. But with all our prayers the Good Lord will guide the caregivers in their assessments and treatment.
Get well Echo, I just got back on the forum so now do'nt you do anything silly like not taking care of yourself.
Hugs and prayers going your way.

Adding Diane and Kelly to my list, too - give a big hug from us when you see either of them, Sparkle, and tell them there are a lot of folks thinking about them.

06-22-09

Holy Smokes everyone! Thank you so much for the prayers, candles and all the well wishes. I firmly believe that they ganged up up on me and here am!!!

It's been a very interesting few days since Friday. Had been having trouble for little over a week with retaining fluid and swelling. I thought it was just a major bad case of gas. Especially after I started passing gas and my stomach went down and things shifted around for better comfort. Good grief my stomach looked like I was 12 - 16 months pregnant it was so distended, my ankles and feet were over twice their size. Still did my job and worked the whole week as we were short handed, one of the other housekeepers was out because of injuring his back. But Thursday and Friday are our regular days off, Friday was payday so made the decision to go to the ER to get checked out. Scared them at the first ER and they shipped my azz to St George UT to the Dixie Regional Med Center. The first ER thought I was either having congestive heart failure or at the very least in the middle of a heart attack. ???? Got out of the hospital yesterday. By time I was released they were leaning towards COPD. So while that's bad enough on it's own at least I wasn't in the midst of a major heart attack. They have me on BP meds, two types of meds for fluids and a broad spectrum antibiotic ??? Just in case there are any other germy monsters hanging around. I do also have to admit that while they were leaning hard towards copd, they also kinda hedged their bets there too. ~sigh~

Have really no idea if I am going to be able to continue in this job or not? I am on oxygen 24/7 now. It's gonna be fun trying to drag around co2 tanks to puff on while doing the job of housekeeping. Might have to very quickly look for new jobs at a considerably lower altitude. The doctors did say that once I am in a lower altitude I will be able to lose the co2. YeeHaw! Social workers at the hospital are working at getting me on AZ Medicare. I have got everything crossed that I can possibly get crossed that it will work out for me. Staring this medical bill in the face scares the crap out of me. An ER bill, cat scan, meds at one hospital, an over 100ml ambulance transfer trip, 4 days in a cardio unit and all the meds is not gonna be a drop in the bucket. My pocket is not that deep and is gonna be stretched to the max. Oh well I guess I can go back to trying to win the lottery.

Well I guess that as long as I can get a signal in the lodge I had better check out my other email. It's been a long time since I could get online to check anything. Talk about withdrawal!!! OMG!

Now ya'll have to take care too and keep yourselves safe and healthy!!!

Lot of love to all

ps. if you happen to notice the date at the top? That's when I wrote this and tried to post it!!!!! But? Can we say the signal died? It's been this long trying to get enough signal to send the thing on.

Again, everyone I want to thank you for thinking of me.

*****Sharon, Thank You Sweetie for the card. I got it today!!! :D :D
