OK, it is now 12:15 AM EST, so I am opening the forum for today so I do not forget to say it:

RABBITS!

(These are desert cottontails that live at Willow Beach Marina Campground, along Black Canyon of the Colorado River, south of Hoover Dam. They are easily bribed for a photo with tiny pieces of carrots.)

I was thinking you are way early for Wednesday, since it is still only 9:45pm on the west coast!

That photo reminds me of a poster I had on the back of my bedroom door when I was a teenager. It had a big white bunny alongside 8 baby white bunnies. At the bottom it read "Don't forget your pill!".  I put it on the back of my door hoping my dad wouldn't see it there! :o
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning ladies! I said Rabbits as soon as I got up. I Need to shower and get myself ready to walk with my friends at 7:00. It's only 42 degrees so we'll be in the high 30's again as the sun is coming up but it will be 75 this afternoon.

Rabbits rabbits. Checking in at 02 after just one more intriguing episode of our latest series!
I managed to get to Home Depot using a cane for safety as my right leg still has nerve issue and buckles occasionally! Chose a nice looking LifeProof brand guaranteed waterproof Luxury Vinyl Plank, which looks like natural cut stone when laid. Wll be here in about 2 weeks, I hope. Tired tonight but more comfortable than I expected. Maybe I really am on the mend. Have a good day everyone.

Morning, forgot about Rabbits. Piper jumped up in bed with me about 5 AM for her morning Tummy rub, so I was talking to her first. She doesn’t do it every day but she did today.

Well, didn’t get the house totally cleaned yesterday, but decided to give my bathroom and kitchen a good cleaning. Washed a couple of jackets and my old snowmobile one, which I’ve had for a few years decided to give up the ghost and fell apart. So the hunt is on for a new winter work jacket now for sure. Might do it today as I have to take the dogs out to the groomer and maybe I’ll drive back to Gaylord and look around again. I have a meeting this afternoon so we’ll see.

I did get the Spar Urethane on the wood cutouts, so thry are ready to put out, soon as I get some cooperation from Mom Nature. Kind of a mixed bag of rain/snow/windy for next couple days then turning colder. Won’t take long to put them out though.

BJ, Pippa is so cute. I know you are excited for her to arrive. Lyn, nice seeing you posted. Hope we see lots of others today. Velda, you will lve the plank flooring. That stuff is really nice.

Got to get a move on here, gotta leave for groomers in less than an hour. Have a nice dsy everyone.

Mornin' ladies~~~
One of the very few times, but I did remember to say Rabbits! 50° expected today in the Chitown burbs with 60s tomorrow! I'll take it.

No major news here at Dad's. I started on the book case. Found 2 different sets of Nancy Drew with different titles, Some Hardy Boys, Dana Girls and Judy Bolton. Also 27 first edition books including two Charlotte Bronte a Jane Eyre & a Wuthering Heights. A bit more to do, then to find a vintage bookstore closer than Chicago.

That's my Itty bitty. Have a good December.

Well who knew I would remember RABBITS. Got up at 4:15 and for some reason remembered before I spoke to the dog. If she sees the whites of my eyes she thinks it is time to get up LOL and I usually greet her but she didn't stir this morning AND I remembered.

Not sure what I have planned for today. Still sipping on that first cup of coffee that is the best one of the day. Laundry for sure as I need to change the guest bed and put it back in order. Not expecting any company but I like to have it ready just in case.

Morning All, a sunny 46° this morning. Did say rabbits after midnight. Sheila, beautiful wreath and love, love the cardinals. Karen, agree that first cup of coffee is the best. I started wrapping the fairy lights on the tree branches. Oh! My! A tiny wire and wrapping is time consuming. I test plugged in first strand and they lit, wrapped branches, plugged in lights and they didn’t light. I just came inside and shut the door. I will deal with the lights another day. Received an email from Direct TV Streaming that said my Samsung is too old for their coming upgrade so need to contact Samsung app to do what, I have no idea. Really feeling discouraged this morning so need to find something old school to do like bake a cake and diet be damned. :) Be safe

Good morning Everybody. I’m checking in from beautiful Kino Bay where the sun shines nearly every day. However when it rains!!! the sand doesn’t absorb the water and the unpaved streets become ponds…. 31 people joined Beverly and me for Thanksgiving dinner. All 13 Mexican staff came and 18 North Americans. A great way to start the snowbird season.
Stay well and enjoy today. Peggy

Checking in from SW Ohio. Have mostly recovered from the weekend of staying in a pitiful Motel 6 while attending dog shows in NE Ohio. Cindy and I just kept reminding ourselves of what was positive. When we arrived they had told us that they had no ground floor rooms available (even though that is what Cindy had requested in her reservation a couple weeks ago.) As I was parking my van and getting ready to climb into Cindy's so that we could go to dinner at another friend's house so Cindy could help with some last minute grooming, I noticed a guy cleaning a ground floor room.... We were able to go back into the office and negotiate for the newly cleaned room. The only draw back, that they were aware of, was that the remote on the TV did not work but the buttons on the side of the TV did. Minor detail. (Unfortunately there were a few other poorly operating features but I digress.) So our list of positives was that there was plenty of clear floor space inside for crates for all eight dogs. Now you get a complete picture of why we didn't want to lug equipment upstairs. I only had Jane but Cindy had brought her adult entries plus two puppies for the 4-6 month old competition and her little 12 week old pup, because she couldn't leave her with the dog sitter. The sheets were clean and the heat worked well and it had hot water. Still I like it better when it is warmer out and the dogs can remain in their crates in the vans overnight. For so many young dogs they did pretty well. Even the puppy girl remained dry over night. It was fun watching Cindy take them out to potty youngest to oldest. Mature bladder control just meant you had to wait till last to pee. It wasn't our weekend for show bling but we enjoyed spending time with others and we got to clap and cheer for a young friend of ours with an American Cocker as she took a Group 3 placement in the regular Sporting Group out placing a bunch of Professional handlers and top ranking dogs. She then walked over to the Owner Handler ring and picked up a Sporting Group 1. Now you know more about the exciting adventures of dog showing. It isn't always full of bling and awards. The "something" wonderful does not always happen for us but as long a member of "the village" sparkles we will celebrate. We at least had clean sheets and hot water.

Back home on Monday attention turned to Lark and Audrey. They spend Monday getting bathed and groomed. Lark will now be called Fluffy for a day or two. They both also got asked to remember a few of their performance moves since they are entered this coming weekend in both Rally Advance and Rally Excellent classes to begin working on their next performance title. Good thing they seem to have remembered most of their moves because I had not practiced with them for over a month. Sigh. They are good doggies. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon but they will both need to go practice in the quiet aisles of our nearly Lowes later today. They did well here in the kitchen and the back deck. There may not be a nap on the schedule today.

Hope everyone has a good day and a festive December.

My exciting morning included taking my real camera to attempt done bird pictures. Now I'll have to figure out the connection I purchased to get the pictures off the camera. Should be easy. But, standing still trying to get a picture, keep Ty still and not scare off the birds, red ants found a toe on both feet. A giant red ant was biting my left foot toe. As I was removing him, his partner bit a toe on my right foot. Now both feet are in agony. A fun walk home, not! I can laugh about it but the laughing will be easier as the pain lessens.

I remembered rabbits for a change. I have a rabbit cut out that came from St Jude in one of their letters so I put it right in front of me.

I had my workout this morning, I gave Sugar a bath. Then I had to clean the bathroom. I always forget I need to brush her before a bath so have dog hair all over. Tina, I don't envy you with all the dog baths you do. I have the towels and bathmat washing so will probably be fighting with the washer because it will be unbalanced.

Judy, that's a lot of rabbits. Rabbits are one animal that hasn't come back after the tidal surges. I see a few armadillos, some skunks and lots of raccoons.

It's already 73 so will probably get to 80 today. I need to pull the camper out from under the shed so I can see if the Direct box will work. I have trouble with it losing the programing because I don't use it often. Have to decide whether to go to the grocery store today or pick up what I need on my way out tomorrow.

Beth, I hope you don't have fire ants. You better keep a bottle of Benadryl in case you or Ty get into some.

I just love Shiela's wreath with the cardinals.

I learned a very important lesson about ants in Texas once, Beth. I went for a beach walk in a state park somewhere on the Texas Gulf a few years ago, but after quite a trek, i got tired and decided to sit on a log that was on the beach. BAD MOVE! I had reached down with my left hand to lower myself, but immediately it was covered with red ants. My rear end probably only spent two seconds on the log before I jumped up and started brushing the ants off my hand, while they were biting me like crazy!

I walked a few feet and found a couple of ladies. I asked them to please check the back of my legs and upper thighs for ants. They did not find any, but suggested I immediately go home and take all my clothes off, which I did as fast as I could. By this time, my left hand was covered with red blisters.

Sitting on a log was something I often did on Michigan beaches, but I learned the important lesson that you do not sit or even lean on anything in Texas without looking first! I would never go barefoot there either!

I learned my lesson years ago also, Judy. This was my first time encountering any here and I was watching for chiggers. That said I had sandals on and stood still long enough for two of the largest red ants I've ever seen to divide and conquer. One foot is almost totally normal now, the other way better. Luckily the lots of them I saw on the ground after removing those two hadn't gotten to me yet. I'm so glad they avoid dogs. At least always have around me. Or maybe dogs do a better job of staying away from them The worst I saw of them was in a friends yard in Alabama. So they are more places than we know. Martha, I haven't seen any in the park. The manager says once he had to kill an ant hill of red ants someone reported. No one has seen any this year.
