Happy Monday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Monday!

Wow, in two days we'll be in December! Time to start thinking about rabbits!

Nothing planned for today. I think I might go out for cheap Mexican take-out.

I know I cant believe it. A friend is visiting, leaving today and we were just wondering what happened to Sept Oct and now November.....geez time is flying by way too fast/

After my friend leaves I am going to hand my porch Christmas lights as no rain really expected today even tho it is under cover.

Beef stew being made today as I need to use up the stew meat as I was going to fix it yesterday but my friend brought a nice rack of ribs and so we had those last night and they were really good.

Beth, you should be able to find some good Mexican food in South Texas. When I would go to Texas I would look for a Mexican restaurant in small towns around lunch time with a bunch of trucks in the parking lot.

I was looking for my container of Christmas decorations and I can't find it. I can't remember if it got thrown away in 2020 when I was cleaning up after Hurricane Laura. I know I had a box with gift bags and other things. I should take a trash bag with me every time I start digging in stuff and fill it up.

I opened the bill from Humana for my drug plan and they want $76 a month. I had the Humana Walmart plan and they switched me to the most expensive one they have. It looks like Silver Scrips has the cheapest one. I'm not paying $76 a month when I don't take any drugs.

It is starting to warm up and the noon weather guy said it might be 80 by Wednesday. That's Louisiana, we might be wearing shorts for Christmas.

Much easier drive today with about only 30% of the traffic yesterday. I stopped at Trader Joe's and also at Camping World on my way here. I get tired of my own cooking, so like the frozen meals at Trader Joe's, and I also picked up several boxes of their frozen chocolate croissants. You put one or two (usually two for me!) on a cookie sheet or baking pan and let them rise overnight. They puff up very nicely, and then take only maybe 15 minutes to bake. Yum. And I returned the new Rand McNally GPS I had bought. Not possible to update the maps because Rand McNally says they stopped making this model in 2019 and are not providing maps anymore for them. I let Camping World know so they would not sell it again and have it returned again. No date on the box that would identify it as out of date, which is a shame. No problem getting my money back. So, I will just live with the one I have and make do with older maps for a while until I decide what I want to get.

Nice to be directly on the beach and have a view. The left side is covered with shrubbery, but i have a good view straight ahead and to the right. Chilly and windy, but due to warm up in a couple of days to the 70s.

Somewhere under my RV I have a wreath and some lights, so I will dig them out when I get the energy.

I decided to go to town after lunch. Everyone was out and about in this area. There were about 10 cars in line at the bank and a line at the post office. I picked up some gift bags and some food at the Dollar Store for the food donation at the campout. When I got home I went to move one of the bags and something stung me. I didn't see anything fly and I dumped the bag. I don't know what stung me but boy it hurt. My finger swoll up and was throbbing like it had a pulse.

I finally found my GPS that was missing for a couple of months. It was behind a box against the wall. I guess the cats knocked it off. I need to get my HP computer out and see if I can update it. I can't update it on the Apple computer, the program doesn't work on Apple. It's a PIA to try to update. I want to order a new one but not high on my wish list.

I wish we had a Trader Joe's but I think the closest one is in Baton Rouge. I heard we were suppose to get an Aldi but haven't heard anything recently.

Martha, I think Trader Joe's attracts a lot of single people because they have a lot of different frozen prepared food--a lot of it in small portions instead of the family stuff places like Walmart carry. I bought a BBQ chicken pizza and some chicken egg rolls for dinner today and tomorrow. I do not always have access to one of the stores, but when I can, I stock up on some things. And I find their prices are not too bad, either.

Another crazy day at work. Another guy started today and he is a cousin of the others that are all family. They all started talking and laughing and it got louder and louder. I put my headset on and couldn't even hear the music or my audible book. I know my co-worker Mendy, and the other new guy who started last week were a bit frustrated by it. I need to chat with the manager about it. Can't work when the conversation gets out of control like that. It is one thing to have fun, but another when it disrupts others trying to work.

Also, they (owners, new and old) keep changing what we are doing, then we have to undo what we've done. I said there are too many cooks in the kitchen all insisting things be done their own way.

Had a pleasant surprise tho! When they gave us cash for our last payday, they figured it wrong so today we all got an additional bit of cash today. I got $68 more! :D

It has been about 10 degrees above normal for the past couple weeks. Was 82* today. No complaints here tho.

I stopped at WM after work to pick up a few things. No one was at the pharmacy so I got my flu shot. I will go back on Friday to get my booster, so I will have the weekend to deal with any side effects from it. I have been putting it off due to laziness, but now with the new variant heading this way, I decided to get that done sooner than later.

I checked the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales on line but didn't find anything I wanted. I usually get myself a gift for Christmas that I wouldn't normally spend the money on, but I really don't have anything in mind this year. Still trying to decided what to do for my birthday. I won't be going to Q this year so I need to figure out something else. I guess it depends on the Covid situation by then.

Have a good night.

Barbie, it's hard to imagine none of us at Q. Especially Sheila! And I'd not like all that noise etc if I was trying to work, either. It can definitely become too much. When will you only have one set of owners? That would also be hard to deal with, I would think.

I had forgotten I had taken some meat out of the freezer yesterday, so no Mexican food today as I needed to cook that. Maybe tomorrow. I actually accomplished quite a bit today. The new handle for my black tank arrived this morning. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remove the old, so went and asked Ken (husband of the managing couple) who had told me to let him know when I got it and he had it done in seconds. I've always liked being independent, but I didn't have the strength, even using my robo grips.

Then I emptied out my one outside storage compartment that has always gotten wet when it rains and cleaned it out. I should do it more often, but it doesn't need it so much when I'm in the desert. I tossed a few things, cleaned others. Decided to put my outside rug out. Moved the picnic table and got out my chair.

I've only been to Trader Joe's a few times. Almost everyone I know likes that store but I simply wasn't impressed so I never look for it. Now I loved HEB the year I was in Texas so I'm hoping I still like it now that I'll have it close.

Beth, I love HEB also! They have a fantastic selection, and i like finding new things that aren't in other stores. Get bored with the same old stuff.

made me some Mexican hot chocolate shook too much of everything in it and it is hotter than I like (heat wise) :?
I made my wreath today think I will send a picture to Beth and have her post it for those not on FB I did post it there... think it was well liked... now to figure out here to hang it...possibly take a wreath down and hang it there for the season as it is seasonal...but at least I will have my red birds
did dishes lazed in bed oh yes did a batch of clothes not sure if it was the up and downstairs or sleeping or sitting but knees really hurt today!!! I feel like I am echoing my mom ouch ouch ouch as I walk or sit... even when I sleep my knees are bent for some reason... I rarely stretch out straight even when I tell myself to do so... it's not long until I'm having my knees slightly bent...either I'm getting used to the heat of the hot chocolate or it wasn't as bad as I thought
It would be hard working in that situation Barbie hope that they become a bit more professional so you all can do your work
Barbie are you not coming because of??? I am going to try to be there just won't be in the same place if I do unless those people have moved on we can only hope... it's still very undetermined if I will make it or not we will see
want to go get a pedi tomorrow hopefully really need it also need to do pick up some stuff...
I've been to Trader Joes but like you Beth not been overly enthused with it... but if it moved into Jackson I would go just for something different...
If I was smart I would go see if my Garmin made it into the car and bring it in and have it updated... should have thought of that sooner...
my son in law looked at the newer computer that was given to me at first thought he thought it would be a good deal then he compared ram to ram ect my old one is better so keeping it... need to get a can of air and clean it out he blew on it and it's not over heating ... it's slow down just might be mom's wifi
will need to say good night
