Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday

Good morning ladies!

We woke up to the mid 60's and will get into the high 70's with partly sunny skies.

Shirl, congrats on the good news!

BJ, the reason my shoulder hurts is because I have a torn rotator cuff and bone spurs in my right shoulder, which is the result of me passing out/blacking out several times and falling face down and shoulder down into the floor. My shoulder needs to be replaced and once it flairs up as it did once before, then my doctor wants to have it replaced. I'm trying to put this off as long as possible.

Tonight is the Elvis impersonator concert and we're meeting friends there and make more friends each time we attend an affair here. The hardest part is remembering all the names.

Have a good Saturday!

Morning Irmi and All, sunny and cool on the shore. Irmi, I know how painful shoulders can be. I have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries and now no pain and full range of motion. If you need to have surgery winter is a good time to recuperate and have PT. You will be ready to go in the spring. Guess my visit with gd gave me a much needed motivation for the holidays. I posted a craft project on General. Going pine cone gathering this afternoon and will pick up Chinese carry out for dinner. I checked Walmart for needed supplies but a lot is out of stock so back to good ole Amazon. Beth, I’m riding shotgun, safe travels. Be safe everyone

Good morning gals!

I have been hearing people outside looking at the stuff left on the "free" table. I heard a couple of the Hispanic landscapers out there earlier. Now I heard more noise out there so I peeked out the window. It was my neighbor who I borrowed the table from. He was folding up the table and taking it back home. The landscapers must have cleaned out the rest of my stuff! Good thing I looked out and saw my neighbor or I would have thought the landscapers had taken the table too! :o

Irmi, I am hoping to avoid surgery on my shoulder too. I can't afford to take any time off work now. Maybe after I retire if it is really necessary. PT really helped tho. I am doing more of my exercises now and my range of motion is getting much better.

Shirl, glad you are feeling better about things. People like your GD can really change a person's energy and outlook. Good people to have around! You should invite her over often! :D

Need to get up and get ready to do a haircut. Then to the bank with my stash of cash! I guess the winds are supposed to really pick up later so I need to get things cleaned up and put away outside. Lots to do inside later.

Have a good day! :D

Good afternoon now. Have been busy this morning. Then decided to tackle putting my chairs together. The directions are terrible but I managed to muddle thru after a couple of trial and error placing of bolts and plates LOL Story of my life. Taking a break right now as my hands get tired tightening ALL the dang bolts. But almost have one chair done and the second should not take long at all now that I have put the one together.

Congrats Shirl on adding another sweety to your family. I miss my wee babies from work (not my own LOL). I had the best job and loved what I did. But I also love retirement, only miss the paychecks ha ha Barbie I am surprised they left your table LOL whew good save. I need to do another donation run and also take my cardboard as it is building up rapidly for some unknown reason. Might do that this afternoon if my recliner doesn't call to me. Think I will make that potato soup for dinner with some Texas toast in the air fryer. Easy and not too heavy. I think I am going to cut it in half tho as it makes too much for me, I dont want to eat it for several days ha ha Will see how that works out.

Karen, my chairs look a lot like your's except mine have mesh seats, not cushions. I don't remember having to put mine together and I can't remember where I got them. They have to be over 16 years old. The storms can turn them over but they are so heavy they weren't washed away.

I saw on Facebook last night that there was a Farmers Market in Abbeville. I made a pass through there this morning. There were only about 4 tables selling vegetables. The rest were jewelry, crafts, soaps, candles and food. Sue would have enjoyed the yard decorations that were for sale. I would have bought a loaf of sourdough bread but they were out of that already. I decided to go to Lafayette and check out the grocery stores there. If there are any turkey thighs in South Louisiana I sure can't find them. One store had pork loins on sale so got a 4 pound one for $6.00. I saw a recipe for pork loin that looked good so think I will put half of it in the slow cooker tomorrow and freeze the other half. I wanted some pie shells when I went to Walmart and they didn't have any. I wanted to make a pie tomorrow and I forgot to go to another store.

The weather was really nice today and I managed to make the day without a jacket.

My signal is coming and going so not relying as I wanted to your posts (lost that post). I was driving 7 hours today. Of course that includes potty breaks, walks for Ty and a gas stop. I didn't like the place i was going to stop so continued on, but stopped at a picnic area before where i thought I'd head. With losing an hour (now in central time zone) I wasn't sure I could make the extra distance before dark. Ty and I have eaten and he just got his last walk even though he'll probably want another. I think I'll read in bed...he rarely gets me up once I get in bed.

Shirl, I used to make some things with pine cones. Real pine cones have a scent I love.

Waiting for a picture of your finished chairs, Karen. Then i want your opinion on their comfort level.

Trying to post this one while I still have one bar. Living dangerously. :)

Here's my 3rd attempt to comment to Irmi. My sister had rotator cuff surgery many years ago. I remember going to her house to wash her hair. I also remember a few months after her commenting she should have never done it. Well, not long ago I mentioned that to her and she said she never said that. I just laughed. Honestly though, today she would say it was one of the best things she did. I laugh more because she and I are both having hip problems... Different problems but both are hoping to avoid surgery as long as possible, hopefully forever. I hope you can get relief with our without the surgery.

Meantime, Ty has accepted this new bedtime. He's already crawled under the covers. But he'll tell you I'm not to change dinner time lol. When we have a time change i have to feed him at the new time equivalent to the old. And he knows if I'm late, but happily accepts if I'm early.

Here ya go Beth

Ok so the first chair took me almost 2 hours and the second one 20minutes. The directions were terrible and I couldnt even magnify it large enough to figure it out. I'm dumb that way sometimes but after I figured it out it was a piece of cake.

And yes, very comfy but I had sat in my friends in Medford so I already knew they were comfy. I like that they swivel and rock. They are in my office right now and will put them out on the deck in the spring. I already have covers for them that I bought last year when I thought I could get these but they were always out of stock.

I went and did the haircut this morning and then got to the bank before they closed at noon and got my cash deposited. Then went back home. Didn't feel too good, little bit of a sore throat and tired. Fell asleep while going thru my emails and slept over 4 hours! Didn't get anything accomplished since then either  . So a big waste of a day. Maybe tomorrow will be more productive.

Karen, luckily I thought to tape a sign on the edge of the table saying the table was not available, or it might have disappeared too!

I ordered a heating pad that wraps around the shoulders and neck, and that arrived today, two days early! I am wearing it now and it works great! Thinking of taking it to work for when my shoulder and neck start bothering me.

Nice and cool tonight but still no wind at all.

Barbie I am in Ogden Utah till early part of Dec.. need to be back up in Lander so my brother and wife and daughter can come to Utah  drs appt for the niece... it's a every 7-8 week thing... got a call from brother by time I got the phone out of my pocket (I didn't hear it ) and answered he had hung up... was going to call him when it was a bit quieter but sister in law called my daughter scared her and then she asked for me so handed me the phone and they asked if I gave anyone permission to park in the driveway well actually no I didn't (remember we were told that there was a meth lab next door?) so things like that are more of a concern.... so called my nephew he was fixing the handrail in the house that is why he found the car in the drive so asked him to get me the plates numbers (I'd already called my son in law to see if he could do a check he is a deputy sheriff) so got that sent it to son in law and got the report back that it belonged to so and so which was the name of my nephews future bride I'd talked to one of my nephews but he didn't know who it could be evidently he mentioned it to my niece that I didn't know was going to be in town (had I known I might have stayed in Jackson till tomorrow I don't get to see her very often) anyway she switched cars with her future sister in law and for some reason they had her car at that point I think had it been a car with that states plates we would have realized who it was... just a funny occurrence once it was all cleared up
My daughter told me last night that they had been given tickets to go to a Alton Brown show... so would be busy tonight I said no worries so sent out a text this morning thinking I'd be able to spend the evening with either my son or my youngest daughter.. she text back sorry mom we have plans for a night out with some friends well have fun so then son texts back we are going to the Alton Brown show so told him that is where his sister was going and to have fun... I stayed at eldest daughters did dishes and watched the movie on Hallmart that I have been wanting to watch.... and consumed more oreo's than I should have..
we went to Hobby Lobby dd said she wanted to see about getting something for a wreath I thought hmmm wreath I want to make one...so many dollars later I have all that hopefully I will need for this wreath... I never know when to stop and hopefully it will go together well...
