Friday November 19

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday November 19

Afternoon All, it’s 46° sunny and a beautiful day. Well it was until I had to sit 45 minutes on hold and nothing resolved. They will get back to me next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday  Just once, some time soon I would like to telephone and someone on the other end would know what they are doing. Will bundle up and sit on the balcony in the sunshine and think pleasant thoughts. :) Be safe

Hi Shirl & everyone that checks in!

Shirl, I keep an eye on your weather regularly to see what's going on at the shore. I don't think anyone enjoys being on indefinite hold on the phone. I hope you were able to spend some relaxing time on the balcony.

I haven't had any itty bitty news to share with you. I started going to yoga this week but my right shoulder isn't happy and will have to stop going. I walk 3 miles most mornings with friends but take the weekends off. Friday we attend the Happy Hour at 5:00 and everyone brings an appetizer. Today we'll take chicken tenders with a variety of dips. Tomorrow an Elvis impersonator is coming and we'll go to that and Sunday is church. Monday we'll be meeting with our dear friend Brenda and check out some campgrounds to see if she might be able to lengthen her stay in FL. The weather is still nice here and we are on our way down from the high of 80.

I went and got my hair cut so I won't be scaring people for a while. It gets wild and I'm to the point that I don't much care what I look like. Went by the USDA office and I have to have an appointment. I tried calling and I got someone's voice mail that isn't in. The lady that cuts my hair has a sister in law that works in the USDA office and she said that they have to take turns working. I don't know why they can't have people working in a government office. I haven't tried to go in the court house lately but I know you can't go in the sheriff"s office. You have to stand and talk to someone at the door.

Sheila, I see pellet stoves advertised in the Tractor Supply store ads so I would think they would have the pellets. Do they have Tractor Supply near you?

I ask at the two grocery stores in town and they said the turkey parts come pre-packaged and they don't have any thighs. Super One had packages of only turkey tails. Not sure what you would do with that. I didn't feel like going to Lafayette. I have a meetup meal on Tuesday. Maybe I can go early and go to some stores in Lafayette. I went to Lowe's and got pipe insulation and faucet covers so should be ready if we have a freeze.

Karen, which chairs did you get from Home Depot. I have some patio chairs on the old carport that have been through three hurricane tidal surges. Every time I sit in one I expect it to fall apart.

Irmi, looks like you are staying busy. I had looked into going to yoga classes and then covid hit. The place that had the classes closed.

Been busy this morning putting my closet shelves together and organizing stuff to put on them. I love it when things look orderly. LOL

Martha here is a picture of my chairs (I have yet to put together, maybe later today) I was trying to buy them all summer. They come in a box of 2. I had them load them then when I got home I slid it out of my SUV onto the ground and opened the box up. Hauled the parts into the office where they are taking up residence after I put them together for the winter. They are so comfy, my friend bought 2 so I got to try them out already. I have plastic covers for them but I am not putting them outside anyway until next year.

I need to forage thru the freezer and see what looks good for dinner. Might just have pancakes as I have some blueberries I need to use up and that sounds nice an easy. Or might make a crustless quiche, I like being able to heat that up for breakfast also. I'm getting eager to cook my turkey thigh LOL but will wait until at least Wednesday. Going to hang some Christmas lights tomorrow if the weather hold good. I bought a timer for them and it should be here today later so tomorrow sounds good.

Since I came here to grumble today thought I would stop back with more positive news. I had a long and delightful visit from my youngest granddaughter. Her big news, I will be great grandmother to seventh little one. She is so happy. They finally finished renovation on my ole house and time for new adventures. So hard to stay positive now days so it was wonderful to visit with a positive bubbly young woman.

Karen, love those chairs, they do look comfy

Sounds as though you have a busy schedule Irmi. I'm jealous! I'm sorry your shoulder didn't like the yoga class but there should be a way for the instructor to modify or have you just skip that particular move. I would like to start teaching my class again. It is part chair and part standing, no getting in the floor though. It really helps if it is taught correctly. I was really lucky in that my first two instructors were really well trained. The instructor should guide you through every move, it is those little things that matter like where to place your feet and how to bend over making sure your back doesn't go into a cashew shape which is a cause of a lot of back trouble. I have really good strength in my legs so getting up and down from the floor isn't hard. I am really out of shape though as most of this year I didn't feel like moving much.

We have tons of activities going on here all the time in the winter but since I am working full-time now, I am not here to do most of them. Some things going on on Saturdays. Will have to check the schedule and see what I can join.

Got everything uncovered this morning in the driveway and headed to work. When I got home there was still quite a bit left but probably half of the stuff was gone. I had put out a donation cup and there was $15 in it so that was nice!. I moved the tables to the side of the driveway by the golf cart, and consolidated the rest of the stuff and will leave it there over the weekend in case anyone still wants to come by and look.

There is a guy I have seen at work occasionally, who delivers our product to different dispensaries in the southern CA area. Apparently, he has been promoted to oversee a lot of the stuff going on with the renovation of the building and also the business. The owners (not sure if the new ones or old ones) said they would try to pay us on Monday. He said "no" and insisted we be paid today, so he came in and paid us all with cash before we left for the day! He is young but seems to really know what he is doing. It will be nice when things settle down there and get more organized and the old owner gets out of the way.

Gonna take it easy tonight. Had some discomfort in my back again today and my feet are a bit swollen again. Tomorrow, I have a haircut to do and then I need to go to the bank to deposit all that cash from work ($1000).

Lots of stuff to get caught up on around here since I didn't get anything done last weekend, other than have fun! Gotta do that once in awhile! :D

Irmi, chicken tenders with dip sounds really good! I just bought some Olive Garden Ranch & Parmesan salad dressing/dip the other day. So good!!

Shirl, congrats on the upcoming great-grandbaby!

It is cooling off here nicely! Barely 80 today!

My neighbor said she saw the fluffy black and white cat yesterday walking around with Spooky, so maybe he wasn't as badly injured as I thought. I hope!

Time for dinner...have a good night!

Day one of my drive to southern Texas is over. I'm at a Harvest Host winery. Bought 2 bottles of wine. Figured I need something if there's a Thanksgiving dinner at the park I'm going to. I crossed into Texas and got off at exit 2... The couple mile drive took me back into New Mexico. I laughed after Google welcomed me to Texas and a couple minutes later welcomed me to New Mexico. Tomorrow I'll be welcomed back to Texas and here I'll be until late March.

Barbie, it's nice someone is on the ball and everyone got paid. Cash in this instance is good. Who knows if the old owner has money in their account or the new has set up an account. Now they have time to get it done properly and without skipping paying.

Irmi, I love your news. Sorry yoga is bothering your shoulder. You can send some of those tenders and dip this way. :)

Shirl, love your grumbling but love even more your positive news. Congrats!

Karen, those chairs do look comfie. I wonder how they'd look inside my casita. I'm not sure I could fit 2, though. One could possibly replace my recliner that I'd be more than willing to re-home. My current plan, whenever I'm back there longer is to purchase a glider with ottoman. I love the one my sister has. They have 2 and can't be convinced to send me one lol

Glad you are safely on your way Beth
got up this morning and went and got a test stopped by the farm and feed store and paid for some pellets my niece will pick them up. we were down to 4 bags so had to get some somewhere... mom doesn't like this brand but oh well needed to some and I will look for some more later... 10 bags won't last long... went home watered plants while watering heard a text come in and found out I was negative so after watering the plants hurried and finished packing hadn't really unpacked from when I'd packed last week... just my overnight bag computer stuff few things like that so truly didn't take long... and it rained enough to turn the wipers on and off but at least it didn't snow.... went to a small town in "star valley" and picked up a calendar don't really know the guy but his dad used to stop by the ranch when I was a kid knew him from church and different places so "friended" him on FB he is truly great at photography a couple years ago he started making calendars so finally got to get one.
when I share a group of pictures on FB from my friend James his are the ones I'm sharing...
it's freeing knowing that you are negative...
I wasn't going to come down till tomorrow but the weather is suppose to get worse so came ahead and left earlier... seems strange to be in a car not the pickup will take some getting used to...
guess it's late need to go to bed do all that I didn't this morning
you all have a great day

Sheila, your Mom is really right on quality and low ash content of pellets. The poorer quality pellets cause ash build up and you have to clean more frequently. I've had my Gnome Thelin stove over 30 years and quality does count.hope you can get better quality before you have a big clean up to do.
