Still dark out there at this writing. Was awake at 4:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep, so finally got up an hour later. Breakfast is over, dogs have been out and went back to bed and I’m watching the local news. It’s been talking a lot about the deadly plane crash on Beaver Island, which is out in Lake Michigan, 32 miles from the mainland. One of our local Real Estate brokers, another couple and the pilot were killed. The brokers 11 year old daughter was the only survivor. It’s been on the National News as well. The daughter is hospitalized with multiple broken bones but doctors said They will heal themselves and she is doing really well. The father apparently hugged his daughter in his arms as the plane crashed and they credit him with saving her life. Another miracle was that the U.S.Coast helicopter from Traverse City just happened to be in the air near the island, returning from a training mission and were able to assist as well.Thry said it was very rare for them to be in an area where they were able to respond that fast like that. They cover an area from Chicago all the way to Lake Superior. A Go Fund Me account was set up for the family and of yesterday, had $108,050 in it. Goal is $150,000. Money is coming in from all over, so despite the fact this country is so divided, people still care.
Judy, I think all the Turkey thighs are up here in Michigan. I’m looking for legs and can’t find any. Like Barbie, I’m a white meat eater except for the legs. I do have a whole Turkey thawing in the frig right now though. At 33 cents a pound, figured I would cook it up, package it into individual meals for me and the dogs both. Then will have the meat for over he winter.
I had no reaction from my booster shot. Only sore for awhile where I got the shot, but then I also got a flu shot at same time, so both arms were ouchie for a while that day
Painting project is coming along well. Took a break yesterday and took the dogs for a ride to Houghton Lake with me. We stopped at one of the state parks on the way home and walked around for about an hour. There were 3 camps in there. Figured maybe deer hunters as Firearms Deer Season started Monday. I had a deer cross I-75 in front of me on the way home, but she was about 200 feet ahead of me, so I had time to brake and slow up as she went across. I wasn’t driving the max speed limit either. About 5 miles an hour under. Not the first time and won’t be the last.
Ann, nice sunset picture. Your right, you do have a rough life
Shopping day for me as it’s “payday”. Hopefully I will have some money left after I finish
So guessI should get things ready so I can roll out after it gets daylight. Want to take advantage of mild day to cut out last two remaining wood pattern ornaments this afternoon. O’Sharon, I’ll be sending you some mild weather for a day or so, but more cold coming behind it.
