Wet and Snowy Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet and Snowy Monday

Postby Othersharon » Mon Nov 15, 2021 11:19 am

Good morning from cold and wet PA. Guess it’s starting, winter bumping into fall! Leaves still falling and so is the snow flurries. No accumulation but ever so often the flakes are mixing with the rain. Just messy. Forecasted to be fairly nice Wednesday so that’ll be my day to rake more leaves! Just doesn’t seem to end this year! My friends are heading to Myrtle Beach for a few months today so good timing for them! This’ll be their first long term stay in their 5th wheel. Before has been where they can head to the house here and there so this’ll be interesting for them. Just don’t think I could do it! Of course they have a much bigger rig then me so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it! Just me, I guess. Nor much happening for me this week, a couple appointments but they are here in town so no travel time needed! 5 or 6 minutes. That’s about it for me today. Just planning on staying in and warm! Hope you all have a great day.

Sharon, your weather sounds messy. It is actually getting dry here for a change. Saturday night when I was camping it got down to about 38. It was only down to 53 last night and will probably be in the 80's by Wednesday.

I got the sheets from the camper washed and the beds made. That's a workout. I have to slide the mattresses into the floor to get the sheets on. I didn't put the camper up yet and sometime today I'm going to wash it. I want to go to the post office so need to find my lists to see if there is something I need to pick up.

Today is my son's 42nd birthday. I brought his card and present last week so I didn't forget it again.

Was only 44 here this morning, brrrrr, but bumped my heat up and ended up warm and cozy and time to take a shower. I didn't take one yesterday and got a little hot and sweaty working outside. Considered wearing it as a badge of honor then went naaahhhhhh. So washed the sheets and towels and another load of darks so I am good in that dept for a while. Making meatloaf today. Quick and easy and it is nice comfort food for a couple of days. Had another slice of quiche for breakfast. Took a couple slices to my neighbor she was very excited, she thinks I am too ambitious LOL if she only knew.

Going to go with my neighbor tomorrow to look at phones and new plans. He is tighter than a tick so he is going to have sticker shock when he sees how much phones are anymore. Mine will be 3 years old next month but it is still working just fine. I am not a person who has to have the latest and greatest every couple years. Probably will have to upgrade in the future but so far so good.

Afternoon All, sunny and very breezy. Empty trucks prohibited from crossing the bridge today because of the wind. Will be a long wait to go home for truckers if they are trapped on the shore. Had an errand to run so stopped in Bjs warehouse for a rotisserie chicken and asparagus. Will try the asparagus in the airfryer with a olive oil and a sprinkle of grated parmigiana. An easy dinner. Bought a bag of pebbles to put on a tray holding house plants. Will keep pebbles wet and hope the humidity will help the plants in this dry apartment. That’s my itty bitty. Be safe

Sure doesn't feel like fall here yet, in the desert anyways. Supposed to start cooling off a little over the next several days.

The female owner stopped by this afternoon to chat with us and tell us what will be happening. She didn't get too specific but is still figuring things out. She has another line of cannabis products she will be bringing in but will have us keep working on the products we make. She talked about raising our pay in the next few months and change the way we get commission. She mentioned possibly offering profit sharing in the future and benefits. She seems very nice and is quite young but knows her stuff. Should be interesting to see what happens. She is going to get us more comfortable chairs which will be really nice!

The co-worker who was gone for several months this summer and recently came back, made a lot of mistakes with her work and we have had to go thru all the joints that have been made and either redo them or destroy them. Lots of wasted work. They will be working with her to help her do everything the right way. We can't afford any more costly mistakes, especially with new owners.

I realized I am now 6 months out from my 2nd Covid vaccine so I can get an appointment for the booster now. If I don't go to Tucson for Thanksgiving, I might see if I can get it the day before Thanksgiving or the day after so I have a few days to get over the side effects .

Have a good night!

just deleted my whole post!!!! not sure why or how... but it happened now do I resurrect my post or what???
suffice it to say another almost do nothing day succeeded in breaking the banister... the metal part of it broke off the part that holds it to the wall.... don't know how it can be fixed so guess I will let the brother's fix it...
was watching a movie on Hallmark mysteries and movies fell asleep the last few minutes of it sure boy gets girl or girl get boy whatever we think of it but don't know the compromise does he change his career or she hers or do they both compromise???
won't know till it pops around again if I am in the position to see it then...
then no NCSI can watch and it's not on at least according to the guide it's not on... so watched a movie that really tugged at the heart strings
Mom has COVID really feel bad about it guess they will give her some infusion that is helpful... still feel so bad about giving it to everyone or the potential of doing so... kids say I probably got in at the hospital they are thinking that it is possible that I did start out with a cold and then got the virus but the quarantine time is from what I gave them as beginning of the symptoms that I had so still planning on staying in more... just in case the timing is off however the test in Lander was positive and that was taken last Tuesday so given the 10 days past that date I should still be able to go down to UT this weekend... perhaps I will go and get another test done end of the week just don't know how these things go... I may call the helpful gentleman from the board of health ask his opinion....
so that is the way it goes...
you all have a great day hopefully my day tomorrow is more productive

Sheila, is your mom still at your brother's house? Are they all OK? Sorry to hear she has Covid. Does she have any symptoms? I sure hope she gets over it soon!

Coming out of Curves today, I thought, wonder if RiteAid on the next corner has walk in or make an appointment because I hadn't been able to get through their website. So instead of turning left for home, I went few more blocks and into parking lot where Rite Aid is. Stood in line 15-20 min before I could even ask how to make an appointment. But once at front, clerk in pharmacy asks, do you want it now? You can wait for pharmacist. Well, yes I do., he was really nice , hollered a couple of times to say he was sorry, but was almost done. Gave one of the best injections I've had. He even properly felt for tne correct landmarks. Saw the needle go in but never felt a thing! So I'm officially Pfizer boostered! Arm slightly sore if I push where he injected, but otherwise I'm fine. Friends tell me tomorrow (day after #3 ) is when they felt tired, feverish and achy. We shall see.
I need to get more done in kitchen tomorrow! Can't afford to waste time with reaction to vac.
Otherwise an unremarkable day.
Have a good Tuesday !

Velda, glad to know you were able to get your booster. Hope you don't have too many side effects. I received my Moderna booster a week or so ago, only side effect was a very slightly sore arm. No tiredness or fever, wasn't achy either. Which was just about the reaction I had to my second Moderna.

Hope you continue to have nothing more than a sore arm!

I think we are not getting as much of a reaction as the booster is only 1/2 dose.

I have had several friends here tell me that their reaction to vaccine booster was worse than either other dose! My arm is way more sore than either previous , extending into shoulder discomfort. Can't tell how I feel overall as I'm still lounging in bed. Plan to drink lots of fluids and monitor BP ( after that weird incident after first shot).
Meanwhile Mandy is purring laying half on my right shoulder ( shot was on left). I will need to get up soon and start my day. I have more to do in kitchen. Queso soup I made last night was really tasty and we will have it tonight too. It's soup weather.

Karen, at least for Pfizer, it’s not true dose is less. It’s diluent 1.8, give 0.3. All 3 doses.

My only reaction to all 3 was a slightly sore arm. The 3rd was the most sore, but only bothered me sleeping on that arm. Doing an online search it shows Moderna is 1/2 the dosage as it retained more of its effectiveness.
