Morning. Still dark out there but not too cold. Warm front came through, to be followed by cold front later and rain. This afternoon. So am heading to town in a little while and then come home, so I can put the shrubs covers on before rain moves in. Supposed to have some accumulating snow over weekend. Covers will keep the snow from bending the shrubs out of shape over the winter. Am also in the middle of cutting out the one Christmas woood pattern and want to get that finished so I can bring it in the house. Be too chilly to work in garage after today.
Love reading all the memories from college. I went to Community College, so no dorms, sororities, and the usual college stuff. We drove to class and went home or to work or whatever. The college I attended had two campuses, one being out in the country, which was where I went. This was back in the turbulent 60’s when students were objecting to the Vietnam War etc. The campus I attended didn’t want to be bothered with that. We went to get an education and I think because the student body was a mix of young people like myself and older people who were working on Associate Degrees for work or whatever, had a lot to do with it. That group called Students For A Democratic Society had a group out there, but the Student government body, threw them off campus. We didn’t want them around. I think as we get older, we tend to think back on a lot of phases of our lives and “remember when”. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. Maybe it’s the tines we are in.
Shelia, we have a bear in this area too. Comes and goes. It has a penchant for bird feeders. So whenever it raids somebody’s feeder, the Association sends an email alert out and those who feed birds, take in the feeders. After awhile They put them out again. Bear disappears for weeks and then might wander through again. Was here Sunday night and hit neighbors feeders few doors down. Funny thing is, a lot of neighbors had trash cans out as Monday is pickup day, but it didn’t bother any of them. We have a very picky eater
So, am going to wash my hair and eventually be off to town. Meijer has turkeys on sale for 33 cents a pound and if any are left, will grab a couple for neighbor as there is a limit of 2. She gives one to her employees for Thanksgiving and also cooks up about 3 or 4 turkeys for her dogs and then packages up the meat into serving sizes and adds some to their dry food everyday. Better than the canned junk out now and they tolerate it better than chicken she says. I like Turkey but the White meat and legs. So I usually don’t buy a whole one, just a Turkey breast. I cook up Ground Turkey for my dogs. At that price, I might buy a whole one though.
