So, I got my hair cut with intention of letting it grow evenly into a short 'bob', now that it's has a bit of style, it's better! Also, I was thinking that NOT having a dark tan on my face has thrown me off. I'm really trying to be more careful about the sun.....

Diana, I agree you should do what makes you feel good......I was born a "toe Head Blonde" (all those Swede genes.. ) but it started to go darker around 16....colored my hair (and permed it) until about 10 years ago when the perms started to over process and the color made it brittle...so haven't had a perm since, but have colored it.....never cared for the "dish-water" blonde I have..... The grey started coming in a shade that goes well with "dish water" so I like it..........letting the sun do it's job for high lights.....but I still do color every once in awhile, when I need a "pick me UP"...but have found that I look better as a darker blonde .....it's been 6 months and 3 very short hair cuts, but I'm all me now......My point being....I do what I feel like at the time.....it's me....

If I was to color my hair I'd do it in a color that left no doubt that it was colored. Rich Plum, Mahogany, Pink? Please yourself! There is no teenage clique to put you down anymore. If I have to be an old lady, pray let me be a crazy old lady.

Ditto, Sparkle! And I don't think either of us needs to worry about that wish's being fulfilled, from what I've read of your life!!!

Wasn't it Peppermint Patty that boasted about her "naturally curly hair"? I'm sure it was one of the Peanuts gang. I'm going to do the same thing....I was a tow head blond (not "toe" Lori!" it darkened some over the years and I had it streaked. Now that I'm turning white it's blending in and I've become a blond again. I call it "silver-gilt" When I was filling out a drivers licence application I filled in height, eye color and then hesitated at hair color. I asked the instructor, am I still blond, or is it white now? He peered over the top of his glasses and replied, "We'll give you another two years as a blond." I'm sure I'll get a shock some day when someone says, that white headed lady over there helped me. Then it's Jello time!!!! What fun, I'm looking forward to that.

Just so you ladies know, if you dye your hair and decide to go back to "natural" you DON'T have to put up with the growing out process. Take yourself to a beauty parlor and ask them to dye the color that's coming back in.

I spend way to many of my youth days sitting in a beauty shop while my "natural" friends were all out having fun. But I agree with everyone else - DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.

Can't remember if I shared this or not...but a friend of mine mentioned that they (one of the companies?) make a touch up kit...she said around $5.....that allows you just to touch up the temples and the sides and maybe center part so that the color effort lassts longer without over doing the rest of the hair. That is the part that always got me...the temples always started to gray again so fast. She also has her hair done professionally and highlighted when the major work in done...she does the upkeep on the sides... When someone mentioned the $$$$ as a issues, she said that in her mind she was making up for all the years that she had long hair and NEVER saw a hair salon or paid anything... :-) Just incase anyone needs a good rational!

Yup, I've used that touch up kit, but between the price of that and a whole head color, I just do the whole head. The sun has usually faded the color anyway and not much more work to do the whole thing. I do my own, got tired of paying salon $100 every month to do it, and I can screw it up just as good as they can!

Boy Diana, you sure opened a can of worms with this one! Almost as good as the one Sparkle started with the bra one a while ago.

Edit add:

Darn, I'm sorry I read this one. Now I'm thinking I have to get a new bra. No Sharon, I haven't bought one yet. No one has shown any interest in seeing it. I did buy a swimsuit at a Thrift store though. Whereupon Alien Rox screamed "Crotch Cooties!

Glad you're back Sparkle, sure have missed your comments   Speaking of roots growing back quicker than the rest-They make a "mascara wand" for the hair which you can find in the beauty supply stores-easy and cheap and lasts a long time. And why do I know this you ask :? carold

Sorry Vickie, you'll never see the "Big Bra Debate", it's long gone, but it sure was good!

Sparkle, if'n you want someone to see your unmentionables, you're gonna have to go to a CG where no one knows you and start passing out doggie liver treats. Again.

When I'm doing a reservation where I have to grit my teeth at someones stupidity or obnoxiousness I have thought of asking, in my sweetest voice, You do know this is a Nudist Lodge, don't you?
I went on a hike today. I drove 23 miles on a dirt road, through the Saddle Mountain Wilderness Area. Didn't see a soul. Found the Trail Head and started walking. I got too hot and took off my shirt and hiked in my somewhat ratty bra, (thinking of what Sharon would say) Still didn't see a soul. Took pictures at the Rim, so close to the edge my toes were developing suction cups, hiked back, put my shirt back on and drove home. Maybe Ratty Bra's work as good as Mace?
