Nov. 1st. Rabbits Day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I forgot Rabbits again. For once I went to sleep before midnight and work up later and talked to the cat. It was another beautiful day. It got up to 84. It's up to 77 in the house again and I don't want to put on the air conditioner.

Cheryl, sorry you lost your aunt. It was good that you could help your cousin. I don't think much of some of the things funeral homes do.

Beth, this week is not going to be a diet week for you. I have managed to stay on my diet two whole days so far. I wanted a pizza. I had a frozen pizza and a WW pizza. I was going to cut the frozen pizza in fourths and just cook one fourth but messed around fishing so just cooked the WW pizza.

Judy, hope you enjoy your beach stay. I like the sand at Panama City Beach. The first time we went I had to put some of the sand in a bottle to show Harold. We hauled so much sand building the arena but not white sand.

Tina, you and Jane are looking good.

I went to town to pick up cat food and go to the post office. I have been burning all the boxes that come in and now I need a box. I'm not sure the box I picked up at the post office will do. It's getting too expensive to mail anything. I went fishing when I got home and didn't stop until almost dark. I learned how to catch Mullet and I want to get them out of the pond. I caught 16 Mullet and a Gar. I put them in the bayou.

My son needs to renew his drivers license and you have to make an appointment online to get in any DMV office in the state. He doesn't have a computer and was trying to do it on his phone. I was going to try to renew it for him on line but because he hasn't received an invitation to renew his license in the mail or by email he has to go in person. I made him an appointment online and it was all I could do to navigate their web site. I want to know what people that don't have computers are suppose to do. You can't call them. If you aren't careful their web site try's to redirect you to a business that wants to make the appointment for you. That is a bunch of BS.

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and I need to stay out of TJ Maxx. They are having bags of plantains again and that's not on my diet. I can't stop eating them.

Made it to Grayton Beach today, after a substantial shopping stop at Walmart's. I was really out of a lot of things and ended up picking up a couple of over-the-counter meds that really caused my final bill to be substantial. I usually spend about $60-$70 and this time spent $120. It amazes me when i go with my kids because their weekly grocery bills are more like $250! It took me forever tonight to sort through stuff and find places to put everything. My refrig is stuffed, so I have to eat the stuff that takes up the most room first.

Anyway, I got a pork loin and have a batch of peameal bacon, aka "real Canadian bacon," brining in the refrigerator. I was really getting hungry for it, and it is either go to Ontario to get it or make it myself. Brine includes water, kosher salt, maple syrup, pickling spices (including cloves and cinnamon), Prague powder (sulfite for curing), and a little garlic powder. It will take four full days of sitting in the brine before I can test cook a slice to see if it is ready. (If it is not salty and spicy enough, I will leave it in for another day.) Then I will dry it with paper towels and roll the two pieces I cut it into in yellow corn meal. Then fry slices lightly and eat--YUM! The real stuff is never smoked, and really isn't bacon either, but I do love it in sandwiches and with eggs for breakfast. (Had to go to two grocery stores before I could find pickling spices, I assume because no one makes pickles anymore!)

Glad to see the missing folks posting today. Also, caught up on another forum today for CLL, the chronic leukemia I had/have. Several people who were diagnosed 15+ years ago and given 5-7 years to live, have taken the same targeted drugs I did and are also in remission! Doctors still consider this disease chronic, but it is getting close to really and truly being curable, so it is nice to hear how well everyone has been doing on the newer drugs. People who were once really ill now have no symptoms and perfect blood numbers.

not a good day for mom it's weird how some days she is more there and other's like today she really didn't want to do anything the therapist suggested the thing is you shouldn't suggest give her two choices... but then I am not the person working with her and I can't feel the pain that she is feeling... my brother called and she will be going to their house from the hospital I may go for a few days as brother wants to spend some time here doing things that he doesn't want to work on in the snow... he has an old ramp at his old house that the people who used to rent it took apart because the kids were running on it.. so if there isn't too many missing pieces missing he will put it together (working with a company to replace missing pieces) so here is hoping that it will work... he is hoping that they will let her stay there till Thurs as that is a better day for him... he has to work around so much.. so hopefully they will when we talked about a discharge day they said they would... and his wife has lots of questions I need to ask the case management person but she wasn't there this afternoon and I didn't want to ask someone I don't know if we can linger longer lol so will plan on visiting with her tomorrow...thought for a moment that I was going to choke to death while in the room chewed on a nut swallowed wrong and couldn't breath of course mom was sleeping and I finally started coughing coughed hard enough loud enough long enough that someone came in to check on mom it really wore me out so left really early like an hour plus early that and I needed to go home and change all that coughing wasn't good on the bladder either... came home took a shower and laundry... almost done on that one more batch and will be... I need to do some catch up on house keeping as well especially if I go to my brother's house don't want him to think I am too much of a slob...

Sheila~ My sister passed away in 2014. I keep talking to her for leaving me alone to deal with all this, and with Mom's passing last year. She hasn't answered me yet. ;)
