Nov. 1st. Rabbits Day!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Nov. 1st. Rabbits Day!

Postby Colliemom » Mon Nov 01, 2021 6:59 am

Morning on this first day of November. Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is next in line.

Shirl, glad you didn’t get any flooding. But still a mess for those who did. Beth, sounds like your two nights of host type camping worked out pretty good. And your sweet tooth lucked out too  I’m sure Ty hated to leave though. Shelia, glad you found some shoes. I’m looking for a new pair of snow boots. Doing some online research. You wouldn’t think that would be a big deal, but with the shortages in everything, finding my size and width isn’t easy right now. One size or width in one shoe or boot doesn’t always fit just right in another as we know. Too cheap and they may look warm, but turns out not to be so, but not looking for a $300 pair either. But the biggest factor is the soles. Some just don’t cut it in the traction dept. You can find a nice cozy pair of boots, but if you are going to be slipping every place you walk, that’s not good. Sometimes I go to men’s, as after you are past an 8.5 in Women’s, they start transitioning to men’s sizes. And since I wear wide width, men’s are a bit wider than women’s too.

Nothing overly exciting going on here. Finished cutting out my Thanksgiving wood patterns. They are currently in the basement awaiting a sanding and then coat of primer. Once that dries, then I can trace the entire pattern in them and start painting. Got all my craft paints together that I need. Pattern tells me which to use where. That will be a fun project to do while the weather is lousy till end of the week. Rain/snow for next three days they say.

But first, need to clean this house. Not as much fun as the wood crafts, but needs to be done. Waiting for a bit more daylight first. Just had eggs with diced ham and shredded cheese for breakfast followed by some strawberries. Getting a craving for a muffin. To bake or not to bake is the question. I’ll leave you wondering if I did or didn’t and get you all hungry for muffins now.

good morning to All - I remembered rabbits this month, first time in a long time I've remembered. When Bill gets up we will decide if we leave here today or tomorrow. We are paid until tomorrow. But if we don't stay tonight we can use it when we head home. What ever day we do leave we will spend the night in a truck stop. Then get to Mazatlan the next day. MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT have Internet for a while.I'm beginning ti think I broke my little finger as it is not getting any better and id bruising in a different area. Might be a good idea if I quit using it when I type. So kind of using all fingers on one hand and kind of just poking with the other. Get some strange looking words.

Hello all. Just checking in for the month. The dogs and I are adjusting to the changing temperatures. I put on warm sox and more layers and they bounce around and wiggle more. Posted a picture on FB of Jane from her weekend at the Delaware Kennel Club shows. She did well for herself. She showed well and a couple of the judges even noticed! The show was well attended by several friends and breeders coming down from Michigan. The entries were all very nice and it was easy to congratulate who ever came out with the wins because they were very nice dogs. It is only when we lose to the "three legged" dogs that we grumble to ourselves. It is a dog show. November calendar has several shows already scheduled with entries sent in. Cindy hasn't decide whether or not she wants to make a run down to Orlando for the big December show so I am waiting to make my plans. Hope everyone finds November to be a safe and healthy one with enough adventures and discoveries to keep our attention and spirit of curiosity vibrant.

Good morning. Woke up to sunshine this morning but temps are really falling! I suppose fall is really here even if I’m not ready for it! Just happy that Lola is winterized and ready for whatever comes now. Today I need to bundle up and get something accomplished outside before it starts raining again. Bagging up wet leaves isn’t my idea of fun but it needs to be done and there’s no one else to do it! Rascal isn’t much for helping me! But at least he watches for awhile before he decides it’s no fun for him and coms back inside. I remembered rabbits last night right when the clock turned midnight so hope it works! Judy, we used to always he had for Grayton Beach whenever we were in FL. I still love that part of FL. For many years we went to Panama City Beach and that was one of my favorite spots. I hope someday I can camp down there at least once more! Bucket List! Carol, enjoying your travels in Mexico and all the photos. Thanks for taking me along! Tina, saw your post with your champ last night. So glad to see you back to doing what you enjoy. Sue, wish I had half of your energy! Sounds like you’re getting ready for winter whereas I have a feeling I’ll still be raking leaves when the first snowflake falls! They are saying we may see a few flakes the end of this week. The seasons are running into themselves! Feels and looks like fall has finally just started and winter is happening in the middle of it! Shirl, flooding is no good for anyone, I’m sure. Luckily my end of town doesn’t see flooding like the other side of town. At least not since I’ve lived here but never say never! Beth, I belong to Harvest Hosts but have never used it. Okay, this isn’t getting me outside and I’m obviously procrastinating! But at least the temp has gone up a bit! Hope everyone enjoys the day and stay safe.

Good morning Everybody from sunny and warm; beautiful Kino Bay! I have been here a week all ready! We had no difficulty crossing the border and the Mexicans have been so helpful. Internet is spotty and I have to sit outdoors near the office to get on line, so I haven’t been reading and keeping up with your news. Trust that everybody is okay. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good Morning, reporting in to say “HI”. Nothing new in my world. We have had beautiful sunny days here. A little on the cool side today. Lots of people came downtown to celebrate Halloween. Both Sat and Sun.
I enjoy reading everything on the forum. So, please continue with reports on food, weather and “venting” on family situations!

Good morning. No rabbits for me today. I always have to say good morning to Emma as she sticks her face in mine if she sees the whites of my eyes. Oh well. Another cold damp rainy day here right now. I'm not complaining.....yet. I really do want us to get lots of rain this winter so will just suck it up. Have been just sitting sorting papers to file or throw away. They just seem to pile up so now time to organize them.

Had to take something out for dinner so took out some pork cube steak and some salmon. One for today and one for tomorrow, not sure which will be which ha ha Going to make some sugar free jello for my sweet tooth. Makes a good after dinner or afternoon snack tho I suspect some sugar free cocoa will be on my agenda for this afternoon. Tomorrow I need to go to the bottle drop and return my umpteen bottles. I use to just give them away but now they are 10cent deposit on each one so I will take them back. I need lunch money LOL

FINALLY, feel like I was just returned to civilization. IPad Air 4th generation charging again. It doesn’t have a home button, you swipe from the bottom, PITA I wanted to try resetting but didn’t know how. Just started pushing and holding buttons available and something worked. That’s my technical hint for the day. :D I did say rabbits so guess it just kicked in. I might have a chocolate nut sundae for dinner.

Happy November!

My day is going as expected - finally dressed at 1 p.m. and only thing accomplished is a computer glitch that has been making me crazy. Shirl, I always try Google for these tech issues (along with everything else), but glad you 'found' the problem. :D

After a reminder on FB, I set my alarm for midnight so did say Rabbits! Seems to work better some months than others.

Here's wishing everyone a great month!

Happy November everyone.
I did remember to say rabbits today.
After 3 weeks of traveling I arrived in Ocala. FL on Friday. It is good to be off the road and settled.
I had a great week in Maryland in October. It was fun seeing the old neighborhood and spending time with friends.
Looking forward to getting together with Florida friends while here. Not much else going on here. Have a great day y'all.

Does it count if you are thinking, "remember to say rabbits", as it turns midnight, but forget to actually speak it before responding to a question from others (son or cat, I forget which)!
Had first rain shower of day at around 11:30. Second around 1. Awaiting more steady rain over next few hours.
Thankfully my iPad One still holds a charge and works for the forum. It turned 11 last month! Good device!
Heard various noises this morning before opened eyes. When up and looked, half dozen turkeys in front yard waiting their turn to jump over my six ft fence to back yard, where they, and the other 2 dozen of their cousins spent next couple of hours grazing on grass and bugs. I just wish they would stay off roof as they sure land with a startling thud. After some research, it appears other than scaring them off decks, they will do no harm to anything but the bug, lizard, and weed population, so I'm going to work on discouraging trips to my deck and just enjoy them,
I left them to it and went to Curves.
We enjoyed our chili followed by pumpkin pie last night- my only indulgence, having chosen candy I don't like and giving away as mch as I could, son will eat rest. Had 10 little goblins stop by-more than last year, fewer than other past years.
Off to treadmill.

Well, I forgot Rabbits today, though I thot of it Saturday…doesn’t count! We are having a cool Fall here in North Florida. Was in the upper 40’s this morning. They are calling for ‘fog and let’s see’ here the next three days. Then rain, and we do need the rain. Many of my plants are just beautiful right now. We had rain last week, then sun and very temperate weather. The Porterweed is just gorgeous. I need to shoot it and put it on FB. I only have a few other flowers blooming. The Gerbera daisy had a pretty single blossom. Most of ther others have called it quits because it isn’t warm enough. My kitty likes to hang outside when it’s in the 60 & 70’s. I told her, I would turn off the heat if she insisted on the door being open as I wouldn’t heat the front porch for her! Silly Girl!!

November is Doctor month here. So that will be fun. Plan to mail packages when I go see the cardio doc as his office is about half a mile from UPS. And that is about 6 blocks (like those mixed metaphors!) from the seafood place. There is a Cuban place in Lake City that I need to re-find as it had some unique food that I liked. We are decorating for Christmas in the shop where I volunteer. That is fun as we are getting our children’s toys, our shop decorations and some jewelry in daily.

Well off to fix dinner and feed the kitty. You all be safe and take care of yourselves.

I sat outside with my host this morning. She's a sweetie and I'll go back there again someday. Ty was in heaven. Loved her two dogs and her daughters dogs also when they were there. Really loved the the place is fenced in and he had the run of it. He could go anywhere except in her house. It was so cute when she took me in yesterday to see the house. We went through a glass door and Ty never moved. He didn't bark or cry but he kept his eyes on me.

When I left there I set my GPS to take me to Portillo's before my cg. Yum. Overate but saved some of my Italian beef for later. Forgot to have them cut it in half, so didn't save as much as I should have.

Got to McDowell Mountain Regional Park just at check in time. It's still one of my favorite parks. But between Portillo's today, friends making me dinner Wednesday, meeting another friend for breakfast Thursday and hopefully getting together with Linda if she gets here before I leave Friday ... I'll be a blob. Oh and I'm staying at a diner in Tucson Friday. And we won't talk about me finishing the cinnamon roll for breakfast today. Ok, I have to go back to being good, but this sure is fun and tasty!

I might have said rabbits first this morning. But I might have talked to Ty during the night. So it's a toss up.

Hi ladies~~~
More like cocktail time now ;). I did actually remember Rabbits today before even getting out of bed. Maybe the Prevagen is working lol

Another sad day here for the OMalley Clan. Dad's younger sister passed away yesterday. I spent the morning at the funeral home with my cousin James since his sister passed away a few years ago, he doesn't have anyone to support him either. He works landscaping and doesn't really have a mind for business types of things, so I was able to help explain some things to him so he could make some decisions and told him to look for life insurance policies to help cover costs.
I'm glad I went. I think the funeral director would have taken advantage of him. He lived with my aunt, so he's pretty upset.

That's it from me, other than still plugging along at Dad's. Have a good month ladies!
