Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday October 27

Morning All, sunny and cool on the shore. I have been on the intermittent diet, Shirl’s version. Lol Had a mushroom, onion omelet for noon meal a little early. Well I was hungry. Going to Dollar Tree to stock up on birthday cards for the next several months. Dawned on me that the greatgrands are no longer little kids and I need to step up the type of cards. Sheila, am sure you and your family will decide what is best for all. I need to have a serious talk with my family about the same situation while I am able. Beth, hope you have decent weather for you trip. I have a few chores then will take ride. Be safe

Good morning, super foggy here this morning so wont leave for Medford until close to noon. I dont have any reason to forge ahead in the fog so would rather be safe so will dilly dally around. Still need to take a shower and get dressed so that is next on my agenda. So far had breakfast, now need to get the dog stuff together and throw a few things in my suitcase.

Sheila glad you had a chat with your brother, hope you all come to some resolution for the care and safety of your Mom. Shirl that omelet sounds good, and good for ya. Will be thinking of Sandi tomorrow, hope it works out as hoped for.

Afternoon all to follow. Shirl, wish I could say it was sunny here but even though it’s forecasted for today, I haven’t seen it yet. I was finally able to get ahold of my RV guy and he’s going to come tomorrow to winterized Lola. As I thought, he’s had a lot going on in his life. Sheila, sure hope you and family can reach a solution for the care of your mother. And that you can get their help if you stay. You are important too. Beth, safe travels whichever day you leave. Sandi, my thoughts will be with you tomorrow. Not much else happening for me. Leaves are so soggy out in the driveway and yard so not sure I’ll attempt to do any raking today. I do have to run into State College to pick up Rascal’s cbd oil and might as well save a few cents and get gas at Sam’s since it’s right in the same area. Then chiropractor appointment later and try to coordinate with her to have our RV’s winterized tomorrow since we’re both close and he usually takes care of both of us at the same time. So I’d better get moving! Have a great day and stay safe.

Good morning, At least it is still morning here. I just got back from the store hoping I would find something that looked good. The Coop sometimes has soup but it was broccoli cheddar, not my favorite. I'm gaining weight but it is so hard as I just don't get hungry. I am able to eat most soft foods as the pain is almost gone. The fact that I do still feel some when I eat I think is what makes me not want to.
I am excited about the puppy and have all the plans in place for her flight nannie to bring her home on Dec. 11th. It is good to have something to look forward to. Emma is at the Poodle Club of America obedience trial at Purina in St Louis and i haven't heard yet how she did. I hope someone was able to take a video but I'm not sure if they are letting observers inside. I think Toby is lonesome being the only dog in the house.
Thinking of you Sandi.((Hugs))

Just heard from the trainer. Emma was 2nd in Utility class and 3 in Open. You have to qualify in both classes to get what is called a leg for a UDX title. She now has a UDX 2! You have to qualify in I think it is 10 shows to get a leg. Most shows are two day events so it's possible to get two legs at each show. I keep asking myself why we are doing this but Emma enjoys it and she loves the trainer and her family as much as she does us so guess it's ok Besides she has so much energy I can't keep up with her. It also gives us a routine for 6 days a week and that is good.

I wanted to go to the post office so got dressed and made it to town before 10:00. Wanted to beat the bad weather. I stopped at the grocery store for more tuna cat food and spent $60. They weren't serving lunch yet but had some ribs in containers where they put hot food for sale. The ribs need more BBQ sauce but beats cooking. I ran into a lady at the grocery store that I worked with. I haven't seen her since they closed the office in 2007. I wanted to pick up a birthday card for my brother but do you think I remembered that. NO

BJ, Emma is like having a gifted child. Hope she does well at the show. I agree that we need something to look forward to. Your puppy will keep you moving. Did you ever have something done for your face pain? My sister hasn't complained about her's lately. The latest thing with her is pain in a hip. Her granddaughter had to bring her to the ER the other night because she was in so much pain. The doctor told her it was bursitis.

We are under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch until 4:00. The line of storms is between here and the Texas line. I put all the vehicles under a roof incase there is hail.

My arm hurt so much when I went to bed last night I had to get up and take some Tylenol. Five hours of fishing was too much. I have been trying to cut back on drinking diet coke and evidently that is about all I was drinking. I was very dizzy. I will have to force myself to drink more water.

Martha, I don't know if what I'm doing worked for the Trigeminal pain or it just finally resolved. Just in case I am going to keep doing it. I take 5,000 mcg of sublingual vitamin B12 that I buy on Amazon. The brand is Solgar. B 12 is what they used to treat this before the anti seizure drugs were developed. I also took a homeopatic medicine. I don't know if it was that, the B12, or a combination but I am going to continue the B12. The homeopatic medicine was a one time dose prescribed by a woman in Brazil who is a medical doctor and a constitutional homeopath. We had an hour and a half meeting over WhatApp. Technology when it works is so amazing!! I hope your sister gets better from her ohter pain. I think the B12 might help. I also have an appointment in St Louis next month with a neurosurgeon to go over the MRI I had done.

Most people avoid Florida in October and November because it is high hurricane season, but these last two weeks have been fantastic. Highs in the upper 70s and low 80s, plus light breezes along the ocean and sunny skies. Had a bit of rain the other day, but it was mostly at night. And so far, the next couple of weeks look pretty good also. On Saturday, I am heading to Grayton Beach SP and Henderson SP, each for two weeks and both directly on the Gulf. Then back to the Atlantic Coast with two weeks at Gamble Rogers SP, just north of Flagler Beach, and with a beach site. YEA!!

Directly across from my campsite, the restroom facility has a huge top-loading washing machine and dryer, so I tore apart my bed and folded up my comforter to wash, plus a huge bag of clothing, but both machines are out of order! At least all Florida State parks have washers and dryers, but this one was really big while the others may be smaller. Darn!

Saw two turtles yesterday when I went out for a few groceries, and I think they were both gopher tortoises. They have oval shaped and domes shells, so are kind of unique. They also are about a foot long and are mostly land-dwelling. They dig large burrows that are used later by a lot of other animals, so they are important to the ecology of an area. There were several in a COE park I stayed in a couple of years ago, and they hissed at me when i tried to take photos of them. They can live as long as 60 years, which is interesting. I also found an article that said well-meaning people are finding young gopher tortoises and releasing them into water, where they are likely to drown! Here is a video on them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq4g6Vf2N4Y

Good evening gals...

We are getting busy at work now with more and larger orders coming in. My new manager said I am doing a great job with filling the tubes with pot! :D . Something to be proud of!

I need to get an ergonomic cushion for my chair at work. I leave with a sore back every day. :(

They do a Secret Santa every year for Christmas so we will be doing name drawing probably next week. That should be fun!

Sheila I hope you all can decide on a plan of action that is safe for both you and your mom. Why does your brother think a care facility would be a death sentence for her? It sounds like living at home is another accident waiting to happen to either her or you, or both! Who will pony up the money for the changes that need to be made in her house? Does she have a regular doctor you can get an opinion from, too? (altho my dad's dr was of no help to him or us when making decisions for what was best for him  ). I feel for you being in this position. We all go thru it one way or another.

Sandi, (((hugs))).

Have a good evening!

Sandi, I've been thinking about you all week. I truly don't know how you deal with this so frequently. My prayers are with you tomorrow. Hugs, too.

I still don't know if I'll leave tomorrow. I'm ready, just would need to dump, fill my water tank and hook up the car. I suppose it would be a good idea to unhook electric lol. Can do that either day. I have places to stay Saturday and Sunday, with my Phoenix reservation starting Monday. I can stay at a Walmart Friday before those two places. I have no desire to stay at Walmart two nights and the other places I'd consider for that extra night are at higher elevations and won't get me out of the cold. So I'm thinking it makes more sense to start Friday. Aren't you glad to read all this? lolol

Martha it's weird I love water but have to force myself to remember to drink it... and it's not that I drink a lot of other stuff either occasionally a pop usually milk for meals and hot chocolate late and a part of glass of water to take my Aleive and the rest of it in the morning for the Alieve and the supplements that I take D eye stuff guess that is it... so when you consider the amount that we are suppose to drink I'm lacking a lot!!!!
Barbie the reason is that she isn't eating and doubt that she would force herself in a care center... and I really feel the same I don't think her desire to live will last if she is in a place of that nature... my grandfather was 103 when he passed away his last two months were in a nursing home my mom always felt that he just lost the desire to live rather that is true or not it's does happen people just give up...
today was not a good day she is just hurting to bad that the nurse called the dr and he ordered a MRI of course we won't know the results for awhile hopefully tomorrow... but she just hurts all over as she put it on (both hip areas) today she was breathing out ouch or ohh very reminiscent of when she went to the hospital... I hope that they find something
my brother and I are still pondering different things my dd suggested that I go to their house and help with mom that way she gets the benefit of the handicap house as well as PT although she will get that here but I still think that their house is better for her... they mentioned a thought that we change off more often so I don't have her for a long time like this summer was... however my concern is that it would be a disruption in her PT care. Although I ought to give it more thought... we are thinking... my brother just younger than me asked me to go measure the walk and the height of the deck he was thinking that as she would be pushed up the ramp that it could possibly be steeper... I replied back and who is going to push her up that steeper ramp and that there are regulations for things for a reason and fudging on this wasn't something I was ok with... I personally just wish that we could all get together and talk things over instead of the texting but then at least they are texting... then today the OT gave us a print out on what to do to prevent falls I said like turn on lights when you are roaming around?? she said exactly I said it's already been discussed the help I've fallen we have talked about that she says it's for the elderly or those that don't fall but she can't don't say that now... Brother's thought with them having mom for a month and half then me for that time does have merit but as I said am concerned about disruption in her care like with PT it's not like we are in the same town.. if we were it wouldn't be a disruption but that isn't the case...
I'm sure you are all getting tired of my rambling on and on and on...
Beth sometimes it helps to write it down helps the brain  besides if I ramble on about stuff everyone else can...
you all have a great day

Sheila , you are right about there being regulations for ramps. I put one in for Harold. Our porch is 7 steps up. The ramp is half as long as the house doubled. It goes down to a platform and then down again. Since your mother is small it probably wouldn't be hard to push her up a ramp but it was not easy to push Harold up the ramp.

Ramps get slippery in the rain and snow! You don't want to be on a steep one for sure! Your brother's place sounds like a good option. When do you have to make a decision by?

I called my brother, David and SIL, Julie, who live in Tucson, tonight. Julie laughed when I told her what type of job I have now! She thinks it is hilarious! They went back to MN to visit my other brother, Paul and his wife just over a month ago. That was a good visit for David who had the accident. He needed to reconnect with Paul, and his friends back there. Then, a few days after they got back home, Julie's brother called and said his wife died in her sleep. So she flew back for the funeral. Her SIL was a nice lady. She lost her daughter (her only child) about 15 years ago (brain aneurysm) and never really got over that. She got COPD a couple years ago and just gave up and slowly went downhill. Sad situation. :(
My brother sounded good. They are not sure what their plans are for Thanksgiving but said if they decide to cook a dinner there, I am invited. I would like to do that. I haven't seen them for a couple years. Would like to see their new house.

Now off to bed! It is late and 5:30am comes fast!

Before I left yesterday morning for Medford I had my scanner on and heard FIRE being toned out to my park.........OMG 4 or 5 fire engines arrived one street over from me. Home on fire. A little PTSD for me. But it was confined to the one home and there was no wind so totally different scenario from last year. Here is a link if anyone is interested.
