Martha, I will adopt your mothers saying “ it wii nenes be noticed on a galloping horse”. I’m still smiling at my minds picture of your cat swing on the curtain to get your attention. I sailed in the Virgin Islands and we went ashore to this little bar. An elderly man with a ratty ole slouch hat would come in and dance with all the women. Our woman captain sad “ he’s harmless, he just walks beside his shoes”. He was a good dancer. I have lost count of how many times I have been here today. I’m really bored.

Shirl, I wish I could remember all my mother's sayings. Something will remind me of one ever so often. I should write them down. I was tender headed as a kid and would cry when they would mess with my hair. I sure got tired of hearing "Beauty knows no pain." One of my aunts was going to beauty school and gave me a perm when I was about 8. That was my first and last perm.

I went back to town to get more medicine for the cat. The vet added an appetite stimulant to give ever 72 hours. I have to have a list so I can remember what I have given him when.

I wish that they were all closer.... but brother #1 is the closest and he is an hour and half away plus going through some treatments for the next 4 months...
Brother #2 is 3 hours away and has a handicapped daughter... very handicapped and he has said that he will bring his wife over to spell me and I am still hoping that his place will be an option
Brother #3 is probably 1 and half hour away when he is home his work is probably 45 mins away but depending upon weather and traffic... could be longer he also works 6 days a week..
and my sister who is the youngest is also disabled and lives in Vegas... I get really irritated with her a week ago something came up she suggested that I look it up I don't like looking up stuff especially more formal stuff right now can't remember what it was she then suggested that I have my dd look it up I replied back why don't you (she doesn't work she color's alot on the phone she has 3 dogs she can't do laundry cause she can't get to them and she rarely does dishes awkward using the walker and getting up to the dish washer) so why can't she do the research then this week she text me to suggest I look up and see if wy offers a certain program I replied back if it's just looking it up why don't you? there is a reason I still have what I originally signed up for.... no answer which she does if she doesn't like it she will ignore the text... then we have a meeting tomorrow with the social worker PT ect to see what is best for mom and to talk about her care at the moment... so I told every one that they could join in in a conference talk with the meeting but I needed to know who and I need phone numbers which I have but thought it would be easier if right there all together... but I guess because she can't help she feels like she shouldn't be in on stuff like that so hasn't said whether she wants to be in on it... nor does she call so irritating
my dd text me this afternoon was just getting ready to leave said grandma is worried about you I guess she called oh why she hasn't seen you for two days oh well I've been there so called mom she was hungry couldn't remember how to get a meal and she was hungry yea!!! so finally after not getting connected to the cafeteria called nurses station explained the issue and we went over the lunch menu told them what to order for her got there and found out that the meal I wanted ordered was out so they got her some toast and soup the soup bowl was empty... so she ate more then I ordered her turkey and mashed potatoes eat part of the turkey some of the potatoes guess because she sleeps most of the time while I'm there she
doesn't remember that I am there... I guess...
I appreciate all that has been said a lot of me still is hoping I will be leaving on time although I don't have the slides fixed it just became not overly important if I am not going they are both in now well deal with them later...
I did look in one of the downstairs bedrooms and there is room to put some of the extra stuff from the room I'm in I didn't feel a need to move a lot if I was just going to be here for a few... so now though need to move some stuff depending upon the outcome of that meeting tomorrow I am hoping to be AWOL for the weekend do some shopping some of which will be bins to put stuff into...
one thing that irritates me at the hospital is that the CNA's even nurses to make mom do she hurts so the pull the commode as close as possible instead of making her walk a few feet but I also get it it hurts to hear her ouch ouch ouch but now they are saying she might not get to stay in this swing bed program due to not getting better!!! not doing more ect
we deal with strange politics here in this community in order to do stuff as simple as putting in a toilet you have to get a permit and a licensed plumber has to do it ... so something that my brothers/ son in law could easily do has to be farmed out and then there is getting her into the house another expensive venture not enough room for a ramp the normal way so either a chair thing up the stairs or who knows the ramp has to be at least 300=35 feet due to the heights of the deck and it's just not there...
so that is the long story hopefully it's a shorter story tomorrow.... although as she is at this time she can't come home she just isn't able to do enough to do so... so guess we will know more tomorrow

.....and Sheila, what would the rest of the siblings do if you were not there? You being there is a choice you get to make. As someone else mentioned given the decline in your mother's strength and over all health, is her care still within the range of things you can physically handle, especially if the house is not conducive to her safe care. And given their track record of spotty support and back up this summer, do you have any realistic expectations for them changing heading into the winter?
