Friday afternoon about 3 and it is a balmy 84* but the humidity is 34%. Makes it a lovely day. This morning start in low 70’s and with the low humidity made me want to put on jeans.

In the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area) we have been around 110* and are now in an excessive heat warning until Monday which usually means over 115*. The humidity has been high with dewpoints in the upper 60's/low 70's. Those are expected to drop some as the temps go up. When does fall come?? Oh, yeah, mid October

It has been a very hot summer here this year. But I think a lot of areas around the country can say the same as well.

I waddled out to look at my thermometer about 5:00 p.m. I could feel the blast-furnace-like heat hitting me in the face as I opened the door, so I was not surprised to find that my thermometer read 107 degrees.

I'm pretty much done with hot weather.

The problem is, hot weather is not quite done with me.

I live in central Minnesota, about 45 miles NW of the metro area, where we had the hottest summer ever recorded. Days in the high 90's with high humidity. Also no rain. Severe drought conditions Nights were in the 70's and high humidity. Today was about 70 with low humidity. Fall is arriving so I am happy. Have never liked those hot summer days.

Thanks, Rita.

Topped out here today at 104. As I type this at about 9:30 p.m. it is still 88 degrees. Autumn can't come soon enough for me, but just now it is no where in sight. Last night at 2:00 a.m. it was 75.

I have been reading a bit about your drought there. Not good. I have also heard there have been one or two wildfires there, too.

Hope none have got close to your neck of the woods.

Anne, We have a cool down coming this weekend so maybe you will get some of that too. Even have a 40% chance of rain, we shall see.

Supposed to only be 90 here today, a ten degree drop from yesterday. 26% chance rain by Sunday. Not holding breath, but did tell a friend to washer truck as that brought rain last time.

Good morning, Karen.

Yesterday, a definite "cool-down" here (from 104 to about 98). Karen, I'm hoping that we get a smidgen of what is forecast for your area, but I am a long ways south from you.

Good morning, Velda.

Excellent suggestion! ;)

I have been dancing my feet off here (the soles of my shoes are in tatters  ), maybe it is working!

Looking at the forecast on weather.gov (the U. S. Govt. weather site) I'm seeing a definite cool-down for the next several days, with highs in the mid-80's, with a 75 thrown in for good measure for Sunday.

AND a "20% - 30% chance of rain" Saturday night into Sunday. We both know that a "30%" chance of rain" ain't that great.

But I'm dancing as fast as I can!

Fingers crossed for rain there, Anne. And that cool down is awesome.
