Nice Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Nice Tuesday

Postby JudyJB » Tue Sep 07, 2021 7:58 am

Going to get the day started. I had to be up at 5:30 am to get into factory service office by 6 am. Spent night in REV paved parking lot with electric but hate their early hours. Mostly big, expensive Class As here but several are here because of poor dealer service. One couple had dashboard fill up with water in brand new rig. Other dealers do not want to do warranty work. So what else is new????

Good news is they really and truly have my awning and slide toppers and are installing them now. If I am lucky I will be out of here by noon. They have a very nice free laundry room so did two loads!! Comfortable large waiting area also.

Good morning Judy, yes you are up early AND functioning. I get up early but I dont function until at least 2 cups of java. Not alot on my agenda today. Taking Emma to the groomer so she can get her bath, brush, paws trimmed and her nails clipped. Just had a power bump here so everything went off and it always takes about 10 minutes for everything to come back on. Internet is off right now so will have to wait a bit to send this.....sheesh.

Going to take my cardboard to recycle, and if it isnt too busy will take my bottles and cans to the bottle drop. Here in Oregon they charge 10cents deposit for each bottle so I dont like to just give that away LOL

We are not going to be 98 today as they predicted we will only be 94 ha ha then a bit of a cool down to the high 80's. Hopefully the smoke will clear out again if the temps go down a bit. Supposed to be a bit windy today too as there is a small storm blowing in so wont paint today but will definitely paint tomorrow morning early. I need to get this done so I can paint it with the real paint not just the primer that I am doing now. Going to throw some laundry in and that should pretty well take care of my chores for today.

Good morning Everybody, it’s going to be a beautiful day here, cool and sunny. I’m going to my local CVS and get a flu shot. With everything else going on, getting a flu shot had slipped down on my list of things to do. The Aranui Cruise offered a full refund or a reschedule with an upgrade. I think I’m going to take the refund, depending upon what United Airlines will offer. I doubt if they will give me a refund. Enjoy today. Peggy

Judy, you beat me up. I had to get up at 6:00 to bring my motorhome to the shop. They only had one motorhome and a living quarter horse trailer inside so maybe they will get on my problems. I hope they can figure out what is wrong with my generator or electrical system.

Coming back my son always takes the by-pass around town and we passed the Texaco Bulk Plant. Harold would always get gas there when we had hurricanes and couldn't get gas anywhere else. I forgot about that place. It is easy to get into with the motorhome.

Peggy, thanks for the reminder about the flu shot. Last year I took the flu shot and the Pneumonia together and they told me I needed to take the second pneumonia shot a year later. That will be on the 17th of this month. When they start offering the covid booster shot I'm going to take that too.

I decided to make some biscuits using a mix I had. It calls for 6 tablespoons of butter. I was suppose to put 4 tablespoons in the mix and brush 2 tablespoons on top. I didn't read it very well and put all 6 tablespoons in the mix. The biscuits are really rich.

My step-daughter that lives in New Orleans says she is coming this afternoon. She grew up down here and hasn't been back in probably 4 years. Not much has changed except her mother and grandmother's houses are gone. I'm sure she will have something to say about the corner where her grandmother lived being all grown up. I have enough to mow. I'm not taking that on. Harold had started spraying it with Round-Up but I'm not going to do that either. I am going to go spray the first turn on this road with Round-Up. The parish sprays the ditches sometimes but that corner is so grown up you can't see a vehicle coming. I guess I need to go clean the sofa so someone can sit on it. It's a catch all when I come in with something. I finally cleaned the mail and news papers out of the recliner.

Good Morning, It is sunny and only 80 here with low humidity. I feel so bad for the smoke and hot weather so many of you are having. Judy so glad your awing and slide toppers are actually being installed!! Peggy taking a refund at this point sounds like the best choice. I don't think this plague is going away any time soon. Karen I'm beginning to this you may have to put a tent around your shed to get it painted!

This is the birthday card my DH painted for me. The empty seat that says reserved is for the Havanese puppy I am on a wait list for in Florida and the halo is for our precious Mitzi. I still miss her so much and the house has a very different energy feel.

Judy, Hooray! So glad they are finally getting that done for you! Safe travels.
Karen, we have breezes here too today, hope conditions improve so Ypu can check that painting task off.
We had smoke yesterday, our AQI today is moderate, so will see whether breezes blow smoke out or in!
My lawns died years ago, earlier in drought. Mow one last time in June and done for season. Sure wish it would rain here.
I have a class in few minutes, so will say, see ya later.

BJ, you have such a thoughtful and talented husband. Beautiful card! Any idea how long the wait will be for your next pup?

Judy, hopefully by now you're on the road and the work is done.

Yesterday Ty was picked up by a workamper couple here and their dog for a ride in their golf cart down by the river. He rode away without a look back. He loves them. No one believes me that Ty wants nothing to do with the water. They cake back amazed as he stayed dry and clean. Lol. I told them to please not take him to mud. That's another story entirely.

I defrosted my freezer this morning faster than I expected. Now I'm being a bum.

Thank you Beth, I have saved all the cards he's made me over the years. It will be around Thanksgiving when we get our puppy. They are expecting two litters two weeks apart so depending on which one i get to pick from.
Time has been going by so fast but now it will probably slow down!

Drove 150 miles yesterday from Sandusky to Decatur. Got up way before the sun, and they started installing awning and slide toppers right away. Got out by 2 pm and headed for current location on Ohio Turnpike--RV parking in special area with electric hookups. (176 mile drive from Decatur.) Got parked, though exhausted, and put slides out. Ouch! Driver's side slide clunked! So, I stopped and put it in a bit, but clunked again. Put it all the way out and panicked thinking it was slide roller problems again. So, I got out screwdriver and flashlight and removed the carpeting molding around slide to check rollers, which were OK.

Had horrible headache and shaking from all the driving so grabbed a glass of milk and a cookie. Then sat and folded newly washed clothes to rest up. Bingo! It suddenly occurred to me noise might be from slide topper awning. :o So, went outside before it got dark and took photos. Indeed, passenger's side topper had a part on top at the end that was pulled up and away on driver's side slide topper. There is no way I am going to turn around and drive back to Decatur, but I am going to call them tomorrow and send them photos. I need to get to dentist by 1 pm ,and it is 100 mile drive, but I will call early and download photos to send.

Anyway, I ate dinner and am a little more rested, but bad headache. Going to take a shower and get ready for bed. Obviously, I am NOT happy about having newly installed parts clunk and crunch, especially considering how much money I spent and the time getting there and back!!! If you remember, I had ordered these and they were supposed to be in in late June when I spent two days in Decatur. This was my second trip out there.

And I had to call again this morning about my missing mattress ordered from Bradd and Hall!! It has supposedly been shipped, so they are getting me a tracking number. We shall see...... :x

Very nice card BJ ... my sister used to make cards with her stamps and kept them all she hasn't made them for years due to her health.
That is too bad Judy hate it when they do something wrong!!! hopefully they will get things fixed on your time line
need to go down and see if the clothes are dry hopefully they are...
that was my day washed two loads of clothes... been working on some stuff for my granddaughter... she is in her own little studio apt for collage so making her a couple of pot holder's (done) an enlarged pot holder to put the pot on (working on) and several dish cloths (have one done and one started so need to get to working on them more) got caught up on the afternoon mysteries so worked on the enlarged pot holder besides making it larger want to make it look different the the normal pot holder so might put an different color in it half way through...
it was a sleepy day for mom
tried making chicken taco's with some of the cooked chicken it called for uncooked chicken to begin with put a rub on that and then cook the chicken I actually think that would work better will need to try it again... perhaps if we do meals at games again I will plan on that think they all would enjoy it
