September 1

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, I did say rabbits. Getting a visit from Ida today. Flash flood warning and possible tornado is a concern. If the power stays on I’m good. Peggy and Sharon take care. Got a concerned email from Sparky/Rich who lives near Richmond, Va. Our weather is usually the same. Rich was the first person to welcome me to the rv life years ago at a RV Singles get together. Good times. Martha, glad you survived Ida. I stream Direct TV and it is always a challenge. I read Carol’s blog and she fixed Chicken Tetrazzini, oh my, another good dinner. Karen, you can use rotisserie chicken. :D Will save that recipe for a cold nasty winter day. Will check Dollar Tree for small foil baking pans for freezer dinners. Still watching YouTube to escape reality for a little while. Be safe

Mornin' Shirl and all that follow~~~
Didn't think I'd only be the second one posting for Rabbits Rollcall. Hope you're power stays on and that the remnants of Ida pass quickly.

I'm still at Dad's. He was doing so well with therapy and was even looking forward to going to outside therapy, then his BP dropped drastically. Ambulance ride on Monday and he's back in the hospital. His heart is in A-fib, and if managed well, he'll be back home in a day or two. And can continue on indefinately. But I'm thinking he may need oxygen from here in out.

That's my news. Have a good day ladies.

Good morning, I had to get up and get functioning early. My roof guys were here at 7:15. So had to get showered and dressed at about 6. They are taking the moss off my roof, cleaning the gutters and skylights. Right now they are up there with stiff brushes loosening the moss. I have one gutter that needs to be tacked back up they said, so they will do that.

I remembered Rabbits this morning. Later will give Emma the Heartguard and change a few of my passwords. I like to do that each month, so far have never been hacked. I need to go to the grocery store for a few things, I have not been for quite a while and time to get some fresh veggies and fruit. Will check the ads and see what is on sale that I can't live without. I cant paint today as it is predicted again to be a bit breezy and of course the guys are here so cannot leave until later.

Cheryl sorry to hear about your Dad and hope he has a quick recovery. Shirl I like that recipe but I think I would cut it in half as it makes quite a large casserole and pasta isn't the best frozen in my experience. But on the other hand I could make it up, dont add the pasta and freeze the sauce. Yup that would work then all I would have to do is make a little pasta for it. I make my pasta in my microwave in my Fasta Pasta, I love that thing. Add water, add pasta, cook for however long you like your pasta, put the lid on, drain. One dish pasta cooking and minimal cleanup.

well time to putter around here, probably change my bedsheets and finish my vacuuming job. Oh yes the sun is shining in the window so I really really need to dust LOL

Karen, now you did it. Just ordered the pasta cooker. Good reminder about freezing pasta. I can freeze sauce in bags as usual.

Good morning Shirl, Cheryl, Karen and everyone that checks in!

Shirl, I hope things stay calm for you on the shore. Cheryl, I hope your Dad returns home soon and continues to recover. Karen, I've never heard of the Fasta Pasta. I'll have to check that out.

I remembered rabbits this morning!

We arrived in FL yesterday afternoon and spent several hours starting to unpack some of the boxes we brought from our home. After washing the plates that were on the plate shelf in MD, now our casita plate shelf is full. I also have a couple school bells and a wine goblet set on the same shelf. We put up a couple pictures and this morning I emptied a box of dishes that lived in our china closet and after washing those, are in a kitchen cabinet and will be our everyday dishes, per Steve's request. It's raining today so we probably won't bring in anymore boxes of things to sort through, which is fine. Tomorrow is another day.

Enjoy the first day of the month.

Good morning Everybody from rainy and dreary CT. No gardening today. Irmi happy to hear that you and Steve are settling in your new abode in Webster.
Cheryl, these are the hard to bare years. Hang in there.

Good food (eating and cooking) one of the few pleasures we can enjoy in isolation. Sandi, I loved your recipe for spring rolls.
One of the benefits of living in an urban area is easy access to ethnic shops. There is a large Asian supermarket within walking distance of my house.
Enjoy today

Good morning all. I did say rabbits! Yay!

We're in a flash flood warning here in my area of Utah all day. The maintenance guys are just getting a handle on the problems from the last one, so I'm hoping the river doesn't over flow it's banks in the lower camping area again. Hopes were to have it reopened for Labor Day. Time will tell.

I was going to take a scenic drive today but think I'll stay inside and simply try to get Ty out between raindrops.

All this food talk is making me hungry again. Karen I had one of those pasta cookers and must have gotten rid of it as I don't cook much pasta. But I really think it's hiding. That gives me a project for this rainy day. Hmmm. And Shirl, I love freezing in freezer bags. Especially in the RV it allows me to freeze so many more meals on the small freezer space.

Good morning to All - We are having eastern weather today. The temperature right now is about 80, but the humidity is 73% - just sitting on the couch I "glow." We are getting the end of the hurricane that caused a lot of damage around Mazatlan. Took out a bridge on a major highway. Hope it gets fixed. The RV park in back where we park in Mazatlan had a couple of feet of water in it. More like a lake. Lots of outlaying towns were flooded. Seems like the government there is more organized then in years past - helping people.
Forgot Rabbits...but remembered to back up my computers. Try to do that end of every month. No I don't use The Cloud - getting way behind in my tech savvy. So many things I'd like to watch on TV are now streaming only - kind of trying to force every one to keep up with the times. Just don't want to be bothered.
Heard from the District Attorney's office and the Metro police again about paperwork on the RV. Good thing I got a new scanner to be able to copy and send them what they want. Just heard on the news at least 24 vehicles are stolen a day here in Vegas. So don't expect much in way of justice for the thieves. RV still at dealership waiting for repairs. Probably safer there than in storage lot.
The community manager made his 4 sided inspection of our home yesterday - neighbor saw him taking pictures of our patio area so curious about what our infractions will be. Did go out later and looked up at gutters - there is debris in them. Or it could be I have a couple of pots on patio with artificial flowers in them - could be that. I know they will find something.
Thinking about every one in bad weather areas. Stay safe.

Oh, Cheryl. So sorry to hear about your Dad's setback, and your 'stay in place' duties. Both of my parents came to live nearby to me so that I could help them a bit, but I was never involved in intense day-to-day care.

I send to you hope for more beautiful days.

My best wishes to you.

Cheryl, sorry your dad had a set back. Now is a scary time to be in the hospital.

Karen, you reminded me that I have a Fasta Pasta but don't have a clue where it is. It might be in a cabinet or in the old house. Something to look for. I don't cook pasta often. I have learned that 2 oz is enough for one serving so if I want some I will cook one serving.

Carol, I like to look at houses for sale online. The first thing I look at is the flood risk and the second is if it has a home owners association. I don't want someone telling me what I can do at my own home. It's bad enough that the parish tells you what you can do.

I managed to get the mower off the carport. It rained this morning so can't mow. Maybe it will be dry enough this afternoon when it's cooler. I see Ida is still causing problems. I feel for the people that are still where it's flooded. After Hurricane Rita we couldn't get home for 5 days. Part of the land is flooded because water topped a levee. I don't know if that area has pumps to pump it out. Grand Isle is a barrier island with one not so good road in. It is mostly camps but some people lived there. I have a camping friend that worked there. She is staying at friend's camp at the lake my sister and I go to. I hope the state parks will allow long term parking. They did after Katrina and Rita. I see people on Facebook looking all over for campgrounds.

I sure miss the weather channel with my Direct out.

Martha, I use Accu weather on my IPad. I just got an alarm on my cell, I was able to read tornado but it vanished before I could read if it was a Watch or Warning. Couldn’t find the warning again so went to accuweather and it was a watch. You have to have a strong heart to survive nowadays.

Good afternoon,

Martha, happy you didn't get hit with Ida. Now hoping all you in the aftermath are safe. Cheryl, sorry about your dad and hope he's doing better. We've had some more fires started and some with evacuations - can't keep them all straight. Will know to start keeping notes! Irmi, excited for you settling in!

I had a great tetrazzini recipe that I must have gotten rid of. Made it with ham or turkey and had pimento in it. I'm thinking cooler weather will make me want to cook favorites and maybe share with the kids on Fridays after her work week.

I definitely remembered rabbits this month after the last couple of weeks. Covid news among friends and family has not been good. My two older nieces lost an aunt last week. My shoulder went from bad to worse but physical therapist was back last week so got a good work over. So much to do but resting hoping it heals because weeks of ache and pain just don't do it. The Afghanistan mess is bad enough, but with my grandson in Qatar, it was a little too close. There are still many refugees 'housed' on the base.

Kids brought the reproduction cabinet from my old life on Saturday, but trying not to overdue the shoulder. It will hold lots of pottery! Also the new serger came. Finally have all the furniture I had ordered locally.

Here's wishing you all a safe, happy, healthy month!

Wow another month! So much a blur! We are seeing blue sky for a nice change. Sadly that means more wind for the fires. I’m on overload with fire news so taking a break for a couple days. Maybe all the lucky RABBITS will help the fire fight. Best to all for September!

Almost missed check-in day again. Days just run together & I rarely know the date.

I just looked at that Fasta Pasta online & yep, I'm going to have to get one. I fixed a small amount of pasta for Jordi's lunch today - using something like this will be so much easier. Also liked the tetrazzini recipe posted.

Cheryl hope your dad gets back home soon. Its gotta be tough being the primary caretaker. Coming from a large family, we were able to share most of those responsibilities. Anita, hope your shoulder gets better soon. Karen, good for you on changing your passwords monthly. That would take me the better part of a day. I keep all of them in a secure database but don't change them like I should. And Carol, monthly backups! I'm impressed. PS >> I don't trust the cloud totally either. ;)

Hope everyone in harm's way - flood, heat or fires, stay safe.
Take care,

After posting the rabbits photo, I still forgot to say "rabbits"!

Much better weather today. Cooler (below 100*) but still a bit breezy. No complaints, altho I still feel grit in my mouth yet from yesterday and my eyes are still irritated.

Just got home from WM, picked up a few things. Still have bottled water in the back seat but when I went out to get it, there was a new cat on my deck meowing for food. He is a big, neutered boy. His ear is clipped. He is very friendly! Wanted petting after I put more food in the bowl. Need to name him. I am sure he will be back. Am just waiting now for him to get done eating so I can go back out and get my water from the car. He is a bit skittish anyways.

I got a guy to come out today to recaulk my skylights and fix the 2" crack in the bathroom skylight. I am $90 poorer but glad that is done before we get rain. One less thing to worry about. Always something to take care of with a house.

Have a good night!
