We are in an area with the highest covid numbers in the state and hospitals are filling up and many of the new cases are seriously ill children!! We had 115 new cases yesterday in our county!! I think they should set up two schools as a trial, one for all the kids whose parents say no masks and the other for children wearing mask then in two weeks compare the number of cases.

Ah, BJ, I like your idea. A LOT. But I am not nearly so charitable as are you.

I thought about this during the last surge, and here we are once again, so maybe it is time to put this thing I have been thinking about in place. Best part is, it leaves the kids and the schools out of it! :D

All of these anti-maskers and anti-vaxers and Covid-is-a-hoax people have had their say, now it's time for the rest of us to get into the game.

What I suggest is this: since things are currently so bad in the hospitals, and bound to get worse, get these anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers, and Covid-is-all-a-big-hoax people to - finally - pitch in. They talk so much about what fine and outstanding citizens they are, I am sure they would be more than happy to help out. Put their money where their mouth is, so to speak.

Get them, to, say, spend a day (or even just a couple of hours) working in an ICU Covid ward just helping out. I'm sure they would volunteer, if they knew that they could. They could do the menial, non-medical tasks - the kind that need doing, and that anyone can do, tasks that would free up other people for the more important stuff.

Why not? It would be a win-win situation. Since they don't need a mask, and don't need a vaccine, and since the Covid 19 virus is a gigantic hoax anyway, they could really help out in these over-run hospitals, and be a major help to their country.

Oh, yeah.

Since they won't be wearing a mask, and won't be vaccinated, and think the whole Covid thing is a hoax anyway, I'm sure that they would be more than happy to sign a release stating that the hospital is not responsible in the remote - make that totally and completely impossible non-existent possibility - that they might get sick. Because they won't, right? Because it is all a hoax, right?

I would LOVE to see how THAT goes down about 5 to 10 days later.

Tell you what, though. Once all of the dust clears, it just might end the pandemic as we know it.

Feeling a bit evil this afternoon. Must be the heat. Puts me in a really bad frame of mind.

8-)

Heh.

Luckily here tent campers are in a completely different area, far away. I wouldn't want to have it next to them either. That said, my power is back on. Yay!

WELL todays smoke is worse than yesterdays and I didnt think that was possible...but here I am with Air Quality 305. Will change my furnace filter as soon as the smoke is gone. Just need the wind to change direction. The cabin filter in my car will be fine as I havent gone anywhere. I want to but it is just way too hot and way too smoky. I did go over to my neighbors today as I took him some produce and tried to fix his stupid printer, Well the printer is probably fine but he only owns a Kindle Fire tablet and I am so not a tablet for everything kinda gal, so I wasnt much help. I need to go to the Post office tomorrow and get some stamps before they go up again. I dont mail much but every once in a while I want to sent a card or there is just something I have to mail. So will get some Forever stamps in the early am.

Barbie your outfit is super cute. I am sure you will have fun and seeing all your coworkers again should also be fun.

I had to laugh at the title of todays room. I'm like what is a sewing machine LOL LOL I'm kinda like that with the iron also. What is this thing you talk about LOL

I am pretty bored here at home. Mostly because I HAVE TO stay inside. Not that I have anywhere to go but just the fact I shouldn't gets me down. I did make a pot of spaghetti sauce today so I can tuck some away in the freezer. I wanted to make some muffins but didnt want to turn on the oven, so settled for a piece of toast and peanut butter. I have to tell you it did not do the trick. Don't feel like watching tv either so guess I will just play a few games on the computer and give the dog a good brushing. I did have to fix my Fitbit today as it wasnt sending me any text messages. So went searching and found out I had an update to the software. Updated the software and it works again YAY. I like it for when I am away from my phone I can just reply on the watch or run for the phone LOL

Now will fix myself a Caramel Mocha and see if that wakes me up, and satisfies my sweet tooth. Oooooh I do have ice cream so that might be better. Or maybe both.

I went to the eye doctor this afternoon and still can't see because they dilated my eyes and shined lights in them so long. He doesn't think my left eye has changed any and I got a stronger prescription for my right eye. I have started noticing I have a harder time reading. I don't like their selection of frames so will look in Lafayette. I like the frames I have but they are about 5 years old and I'm afraid they will break.

Barbie, beautiful dress and shoes and toes. Have fun at the wedding.

Judy, glad you were able to find a campground with power. I still don't know if some things I had got thrown or they are in bins in the old house. When I was cleaning after the last flood I started making list of what was in a bin so I don't have to dig through them to see what's in one. But there are still bins I haven't gone through.

I don't think I will ever get rid of my sewing machine since I can seldom find pants that aren't too long. I refuse to pay more than I paid for the pants to have them hemmed. If my iron went missing it would probably be a long time before I missed it.lol

Annie, I like your idea about letting the people that think Covid is a hoax work in the hospitals. The kids in my area have to wear masks to school and on bus. I haven't seen any protest here and they are ignoring the Attorney General's message to say they have religious and health reasons to not wear a mask. Everyone at the doctor's office had masks but about half the patients had the mask under their nose. You just can't fix stupid. There was a nursing home patient there with her daughter. It was ok for the daughter to spend several hours at the doctor with her mother but she couldn't pick her up or bring her back. The lady had to ride the bus a mile across town. I don't know who makes up these rules.

I didn't get the alert either. I get the amber alerts but usually when I'm on the road and it scares the heck out of me. It takes me a minute to figure out what is going off.

Good evening gals!

My co-worker and I hustled today to finish up a project. We kept running out of supplies and having to go searching around for another box of them so we could finish, and we did, just at 6:00, closing time! Yay!

Got home and just had a huge plate of spaghetti with cheesy garlic bread. So yummy! I have one more big portion of spagetti left. Will have it tomorrow.

I got my two masks for the wedding. One is brown with gold rhinestones on it and the other is tan with gold on it. Both are very pretty. I am leaning towards the tan one since it is lighter and easier to breath thru and not quite so bold. I don't want to overdo the sparkle. The rhinestones make the other one a little heavy, as well.

Am just about to go frost my hair and then work on the gourd while I wait for my hair to lighten up.

Judy, when you mentioned about the tenters next to you on the generator side, I was thinking not only of the noise but also of the exhaust fumes! I am sure they wouldn't have cared for that either. Glad you were able to get into the other campground early.

So Anne, how do you really feel??   (I understand completely!)

Lyn, the wedding is on Sunday in Escondido. I have a motel room reserved for Sunday night and will drive back on Monday.

Martha, how is taking a bus safer than having her daughter drive her? That makes no sense at all. Nothing seems to make sense to me anymore. Things are such a mess!

Off to do my hair, now that my dinner has settled!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Anne, great suggestion to make the non-vaccine believers work in hospitals, but I don’t think I’d want to go into a hospital with a bunch on “anti-maskers,” “anti-vaccers,” “COVID is a hoax” people working there or have the legitimate staff exposed to them either. Scary!

I’m immunocompromised and am anxiously awaiting the decision by the CDC regarding boosters for all those in the same situation.

something Barbie said on Weds post jogged a memory was going to mention it here but by now I've forgotten so will have to relook and say something there...
I am tired shouldn't be did nothing to cause it but I don't think I slept well woke up about 6 so went to the bathroom went back to bed and did go back to sleep...
did run my errands that I've been putting off for days... I went to the yarn shop and actually didn't get a lot of help but to continue on... and different yarn wow is yarn at a yarn shop expensive :o
got different light bulb for the reading light and returned the ones that were way to big and got to the post office
really need to get my mail more often...
fixed supper my dd has been wanting this pasta dish that we have gotten at the Spaghetti factory in SLC it's a dish that the sauce is browned butter/garlic... with this cheese grated on it never can remember the spelling it starts with a M and has a Z in it ... it's either goat or sheep cheese and we had chicken with it thankfully dd will take left overs...
I get it Cheryl it does get boring have a feeling I get out and about more than you do... in actuality I am not doing more different than I would on my own other than fixing more food and doing more laundry
my youngest thinks I should stay here this winter... so grandma can be in her own home... agree it would be nice for her to stay in her home however she is able to go to others houses she just would rather not... so I am going to be selfish and go south for the winter will readdress the situation next summer
you all take care

Yay! I finally got my hair frosted and it looks pretty good! I also worked on the gourd while I was waiting for my hair to lighten. Got most of it done. Just a couple more things to do on it and then will spray a shiny finish on it. I will post pics when it is done. I hope it looks good enough for a wedding gift. I have their names and the wedding date on the back of it in fancy (almost calligraphy) gold writing.

I have a new cat visiting. He is a dark tabby. He isn't as skittish as the others.

It was near 100 here today, but a grey sky, likely high smoke, kept our temps down. Our AQI was thankfully in good to low moderate all day, unlike Karen whose air was awful!
My knee was much better today, a fact which mystifies me, yet I'm very glad.
As to schools and vaccines. Some of you may not be aware, only children over age 12 can get vaccine, which means children up to about 7th grade are not vaccinated and that's not because the parents don't want hem vaccinated,it's because vaccine hasn't yet been approved for under 12. I keep hearing so many adults still don't want vaccine. That I do not understand.
Judy I agree with Beth and other ideas as possible on that radio. Maybe it could be disconnected and writes taped off in case next owner wants to hook back up.
Barbara, have a wonderful time with your friends and dressing up!
Happy Friday everyone.
