Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Saturday of July

Morni g everyone. Hard to believe another month is about done. Summer is moving along way too fast.

Shirl, I always love your humorous morning posts. Starts my day off with a laugh :D I too am one who never uses an ATM. But I do carry cash. There are times when I need it. And I rarely use checks, as all my bills are paid online. But here agsin, there are times when I ned to write one.

Neighbor picked me up yesterday and we went to the small local farmers market down here and then out to one of the farms outside Gaylord for some sweet corn. There’s where the cash comes in handy as can’t use CC at those places. Then on way home, we swung by grocery store, so I could stock up again. We had a fun afternoon. Found out I won’t get my truck back till middle dle of next week, but am all set on food stuffs. I’ve also been the recipient of some pieces of cake and pie from same neighbor and one other. No wonder I can’t lose weight

Rain showers on forecast for weekend. Not sure what I am getting into for projects. Need a few things to finish off one and start the next, but will have to wait till I can get to Lowe’s.

I see some here and there wearing a mask, but mostly we aren’t in big numbers. Delta variant hasn’t shown up yet, but one case has over in a county NE of here. Governor said there will be no mask mandates. Neighbor and I said we are not getting paranoid over it, just going to be aware and take our precautions.

Eighbors are buying my lot, but we won’t be doing any formal transfer of property for a while yet. He left p this morning for 3 weeks in CO and comes home the dsy before I leave for a weeks camping. No rush, it will all fall into place in it’s time. She will be a bachelorette for a bit

So, guess I will get on with my day. Hope you all have a nice day and Stay safe out there.

Morning Sue and All, humidity still here and August means super heavy beach traffic. I received the package of N95 mask so decided to try one and go for carry out last evening. I’m hoping it filters some humidity. There was a huge beautiful cardboard display at the apartment entrance that said “it’s a boy”. The young father came off the elevator carrying the week old baby like the precious cargo it was. I always stand back from the elevator door and was glad I was wearing a mask. I am vaccinated but do not want to possibly transfer delta to anyone. I did not see anyone wearing a mask and I received some strange looks. So be it. Sue, I try to find some humor in each day. Maybe it’s my generation. Edith’s neighborhood is having their roads repaved and she sent me a picture of her new lawn ornament, a pota potty. Barbie, your huge corn crop made me laugh, thanks. My granddaughters descriptive text of her mammogram was hilarious. Maybe we are just a weird family. Be safe

Good morning Sue and Shirl and all who follow. Not a very cool start to my morning but we are a bit overcast. Threw some stuff in the laundry, towels, dish towels, etc. No rain in sight here. Altho south of me where I used to live kind of got hammered yesterday but with that also came lots of lightning and many spot fires but they were ready. Today is supposed to be a repeat for them.

Was going to go to the Farmers market today but just think I will go next weekend when I get back from Medford. I hate to buy too much and have it just kind of go bad while I am gone. So will go out and add a bit more dirt and fertilizer to my tomatoes. Harvest the dang squash that doubles and triples in size overnight. Also time to run the big vacuum over the house. I like my Robot for in between times but my Shark gets all the deep down dirt.

Guess I better start closing up the house, get a shower, and get busy.

I found quite a few stores during the worst of the pandemic that had signs preferring credit over cash so they would not have to handle money or give you change.

I stopped at a vegetable stand in front of a farm yesterday and got the freshest corn I have ever had. They ran out just before I got there, so sent some family members out to pick more. You could see them out in the field picking! The second batch also ran out in a couple of minutes, but I took some smaller ears that others did not want. Third batch arrived a couple of minutes later and was quickly snatched up by the people in line behind me! Also got some homegrown tomatoes, pickles, and a watermelon. Dinner last night was corn, cucumbers, and a tomato with fresh mozzarella.

Add that to the $52 I spent in a candy and nut shop, and I spent quite a bit of money yesterday. This shop in Bay City, MI, has been in business for many decades and has an incredible collection of candy and nuts. I had not been here in about five years, so I stocked up, though at least half of what I got will go to son and grandkids. Got some chocolate covered dried cherries, red licorice, chocolate covered raisins, and a bag of fruit slices. The fruit slices came in ten flavors, so I got three of each. I have tried a couple and they were very good!

Also temps have dropped considerably. I even had to put a light jacket on yesterday and had to run my furnace last night. High was 73 and low was 53. Felt good.

Good Morning to All - When I got up this morning the sky was blue and the sun was bright. Now 2 hours later it is getting gloomy out. Yesterday the west and south side of Vegas got heavy rains, we got some wind nothing else. Today the whole valley is supposed to have monsoon storms. At least for the last few days the temps have been below 100 BUT the humidity was been around 70% - so it actually felt hotter. The AC was running last night at 11 o'clock and is running now at 9 a.m. We keep the thermostat at 82. If any cooler than that Bill is freezing. I am slowly adjusting to the heat. Just try to get everything that takes any effort done early in the morning. Then either do puzzles or sit like a bump on the couch watching Hallmark movies - be glad when August comes and the Christmas movies are over. Have been getting the house deep cleaned, one room at a time before it gets too hot to move.
At least we aren't getting any smoke from the fires around us.
Mailed off my finished quilt yesterday - for 9th great grand baby, a girl. Hope they like it. Now am trying to figure out something else to sew.
Here in Las Vegas masks are mandated for indoors again. But okay with us, we never stopped wearing them in stores. We were thinking about going out to restaurants again when the surge started (500 new cases a day - 99.5% unvaccinated)- so guess I'll keep cooking. Glad Bill likes salad cause some days it is just too hot to cook. Guess I have a low Torrance for heat. Just turning on the burner and I start sweating and get red in the face.
Was reading yesterdays coffee - I went to pay for something the other day and realized I had NO cash - had to use debit card for $1.32. Have actually not paid anything in cash for quite a while when I think about it. Did have to hunt for my checks to pay a handy man the other day though. Luckily I remembered where I'd put them.
Not much else going on. It is either too hot or too wet or too unhealthy to go anywhere. We are starting to snap at each other over little things...Not good.
Judy, the fresh vegetables sound delicious - and so does chocolate covered anything.

Good morning,

Rain predicted but we'll see - will go put cockpit cover on Sling just in case. It is cloudy but 94 degrees headed for 102.

Because debit card is not fraud proof, I seldom use it. Years on the road had me using it at Walmart to get cash back. My daughter has occasion to use my cards and I have tried to discourage using debit. Actually made the decision this morning to open an account at local bank because Chase is on other side of Wenatchee. Daughter went in to change her name and put new hubby on her account - had to make an appointment! They showed up for appointment this morning and yesterday was that person's last day so did they want to make another appointment!

Irmi, delighted things are going so quickly for you! Sheila, I imagine you will have to come here to ride. :) I fear all the travel plans will be gone again with all the Covid cases showing up. One of the Sling guys has Covid after vaccination (Florida) and another has 4 friends who have it.

Good morning gals! :D

I still have the box of checks I ordered over 5 years ago! Once in a great while, I will need to write a check for something. I mostly use my debit card but usually try to have $20 cash on me for small things. I used to carry more cash when I got tips at work but would make a deposit once a week at the bank.

Fresh corn sounds so yummy! Our sweet corn season here is in the late spring. I try to only buy it at farmers stands so I know it is picked fresh that morning.

We got about 4 drops of rain last night. Clear blue skies today and for the next week or so. Mid teens for highs. My house smells musty from the humidity and lack of fresh air in here.

Need to tackle the kitchen today and put away my clean clothes. I just vegged out yesterday to give my shoulder a rest. Feels better today. Will still baby it tho.

I asked my co-worker if she knows who at work has been vaccinated. She said that the company required all workers to get tested and then to get vaccinated, so that made me feel better. At least if I do get sick, it won't be as bad. Will be wearing my new masks out when shopping tho.

Hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

did try to remember to wear a mask today in the two stores I was in... forgot how badly the glasses fog over....
Banana's went up several cent's but what else is new...
my dd and her husband came for supper brought grandson and his girlfriend was so good to see them all now have yarn for my next afghan although I really wanted to start on a afghan for the great grandson due in Sept... but no one has been able to find the pattern... guess I will have to look when I go over to the trailer... who knows when but it has got to be there I think it is a case that they just don't know what they are looking for.... my grandson was asked to look for it hmmm I am sure that he didn't know what he was looking for oh well I need to work on the Swedish Weave anyway...
I am tired tonight...
I usually get cash when I go shopping except Smith's up here in Jackson charge a fee for doing so... don't know of any other Smith's that does... so I get cash when I shop at other places rarely use the ATM one time I did and hit it wrong got a lot more out than I'd planned  so over time I add up my cash and am usually shocked by what I have as I get it and then don't use it. maybe I need to redeposit it :o
you all have a good day
