Good Morning All, Hot and very humid on the shore. My big adventure today will be walking trash to the dumpster. Lol. I’m scouring Amazon for mask best deals too. Read that the kn95 mask help filter humidity too. Not much happening in my little corner of the world. Be safe

Morning Shirl and all. I'm off today and tomorrow but have no plans. We had heavy rains yesterday and puddles (little lakes I called them) appeared everywhere. From me wanting to see rain, I'm definitely tired of it after it happening pretty much daily now, and coming so fast and furious. Feast or famine!

Mixed bag Tuesdsy

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jul 27, 2021 9:19 am

Morning. I had a posted all ready for Coffee yesterdsy and it went poof into cyberspace I guess. Got busy and never reposted. Not hat you missed anything

Slept in this morning and felt good. Have had breakfast, shower, hair wash and dry and now ready to tackle my day. Going to finish up my cement deer and get it outside again. Weather is supposed to be a mix of showers, possible storms and sun. Yesterday was beautiful.

I have a wek with no wheels in the garage as my truck is at the body shop. Something or somebody rubbed alongside it while I was up in the UP in May and tbere’s a couple dents and scrapes down the one side. How or who is a mystery. Thty are just now getting around to dong the repairs. I dropped it off yesterdsy and had made arrangements to rent a car for the week. When I got up there yesterdsy, found out the rental car fleet is completely out of rentals :o  Said Thry might have one today or tomorrow. I told them to forget it. So had to call my friend to come up and bring me home. She was happy to. They have two cars and her husband is older than she is and doesn’t drive much anymore, so I can use his car if I need to go someplace she said. Plus neighbors across the road said They would be glad to run me someplace too if need be. I don’t really need anything otber than maybe some milk and fruit, but no big deal. Heck, I can walk down to Waters to the convenience store for milk if I want. Only a mile and a half and You know I walk a lot. Could make a stop at the ice cream shop too  My friend will probably be doing some shopping this week, so I’ll tag along with her.

So, I finished the half door I was making for my garage and got that up. Still need a door handle, but will get that later. It serves the purpose.

Barbie, we had some heavy rains here on Saturday and there were also 5 tornadoes downstate. EF0 -1 types. Mostly shingle, power line, tree damage type stuff left behind, although I heard some buildings did get damaged. My friend was down visiting her brother and tornado took down a tree across his drive. They were over visiting his one daughter or else her van would have been under it. One also came down near where Cheryl (IishIRoamed) was camping last month near Port Austin again. Twice in a month is very rare for them. This one harvested some corn stalks.

Shirl, I was same way when I was young. Tomboy through and through. Been the toy guns, bikes, baseball glove/bat route. Then later it was tools. Not much to play with dolls although I did have a couple favorites. It seems most of us followed that route. Probably why we became RV owners. Seems most women who do, were Tomboys or Girl Scouts

Guess I should get moving here before the morning is over. Hope you all have a nice dsy and stay safe out there. Beth, thanks for moving the post. After I posted, I saw Shirl had started Coffee, so was going to move my post, but you already did :D

Good Morning!

I hate to see us go back to masks, but it's happening. I notice more and more people wearing them. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and hadn't given any thought to mask, but they asked questions, took temp and required mask. I think my face shield is still in the Sling, but I better check! I start 6 weeks of physical therapy today for my shoulder.

Yesterday was a fun day - high school friend and wife were passing through so we met for lunch. We were too busy talking to be eating! Phone call from long time friend. Phone calls with aunt and BFF. Great conversation with man and his young son about the Sling - boy had his picture taken in driver's seat. :D Will get in touch later so he can have a ride. Dad gave me his card and turned out to be highly recommended local handy man on FB.

Have a good rest of your day!

Just lazing in bed this morning. Sunny skies out there but they say we may get another monsoon system next week.

I had lots of dolls when I was little. Got a least one new one every Christmas. I had the original Barbie doll and lots of the original dresses and outfits for her. All would be worth a lot now days. My grandma got rid of it all I think, because I have never come across the box I kept them in. Was hoping to find it when we cleaned out my dad's house, but no. I later got into playing with trolls. I still have 3 of them. I had a two-headed troll at one point but don't know what happened to that. Loved making clothes for them.

I was thinking, after all the mask posts, that wearing the disposable cloth masks aren't really doing me any good since they only protect those around me from getting something from me. I need to get the N95 or KN95 masks to protect me from those around me who are not vaccinated and not wearing masks. Thanks for that info!

Nothing else new here. Off to work shortly.

Cloudy and could sprinkle here. Handyman, Sean, out sawing and putting screws in. With luck deck reno will be finished this week. Was going to take car to car wash, but not if it's gonna sprinkle. There is always next week! Probably catch more Olympics later, as don't have anything else pressing to do. Hope mountains are getting rain and no lightning and fire fight is progressing.
Mandy and I will cuddle a bit longer. Stormy kept us up late with her patrolling the house and hollering. I think there may have been a critter out and about as she kept getting up in windowsill and loudly meowing (nice wide with 6 in thick walls, so she has a good place to keep watch), and going from my window back up hall to other rooms that face front yard. The local wild turkey population has been all but unseen this summer, so it's possible more than just the one coyote at the big park, 1/2 mile away, are roaming at night. Sure hope not. Normally I see turkeys daily. Perhaps drought is a factor too.
Have a good day.

I got a new doll most Christmases along with an electric train set and a BB gun. :) Had my cowboy hat and gun belt, too. That was all before I turned 10. With 2 new babies in the family, I guess I suddenly had to grow up or I had just outgrown that phase.

Sugar had a short walk yesterday afternoon because it looked like it was going to storm. It kept up the thunder and lightening until after 10:00 but I don't think it ever rained here. It was just to the South. It's up to 100 today.

I had never changed the name on the electric bills so decided to do that today. The main office is in Lafayette and of course I didn't have a paper they wanted. I get to try again tomorrow. The lady gave me a paper to fill out and get notarized. I am standing there in person with a photo ID. What is a notary going to see that she didn't? She said that my parish doesn't require a permit but some do. Why would you need a permit to change the name on a bill? They make everything so hard. That's why I have put it off for 3 years, I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I have been wanting Mexican food so stopped at a Mexican Restaurant for lunch. I brought half of it home so will have it again tonight. I thought about asking if I could get a margarita to go. I wasn't going to drink one and drive.

I hate to go back to wearing a mask but it looks like no one else is going to look out for us. I was digging in a cabinet and found some N95 masks my son had for when he was spraying. Need to put one in the car. My parish has the lowest percentage of vaccinations of the 6 parish area that is reported on my news station. My neighbors are on a bus trip to Yellowstone. They will be lucky if they don't catch Covid because they think it's a hoax and wouldn't get vaccinated. I won't be going around them for a while when they get home.

I got the motorhome back to the shop yesterday. When they tell me it's ready I think I'll sit in their parking lot and run the generator for an hour before I bring it home again. I have never had trouble with that shop before.

I remember spending my Christmas money for a Lone Ranger cap gun set and holster. I know I was in the second grade judging by where we were living and what school I was going to. My dad was in the Air Force and we moved every two years. When I got the guns we were living with Grandmother because my dad was in Japan.

An unsettling day so Have come here to vent. You can ignore me but my children wouldn’t dare. #2 gd sold her house, has contract on another. She is packed, uhaul reserved and settlement on both house scheduled for Friday. Today her buyer refuse the sale. Her mortgage company changed the terms of mortgage and she refused to accept it. The owners of gd new house had already moved into their new house and now are responsible for two mortgages. Another case of incompetence and unreliable business practice. Also frustration about masks. I have read until my eyeballs are laying on my checks. I ordered masks from Amazon, made by Kimberly Clark, made in the USA and listed as N95 but not for medical personnel. KN95 are all made out of country. If anyone finds fault with this mask don’t tell me because I am not searching anymore. So many masks in the order they will probably outlast me so I will list them in my will. I had a large lunch so am having peanut butter crackers and a chocolate nut sundae for dinner. I will feel better tomorrow.

Shirlv that sounds like a nightmare!! So sorry for your granddaughter. I'm with you on the mask. I didn't see the Kimberly Clark made in the USA! Yes I was also on Amazon looking for masks a long time today. Will go back and see if I can find those.
Our neighbor who was vaccinated with Pfizer back in February has Covid. He started running a temp while they were on vacation visiting grandchildren. Does anyone know whether the Covid test show whether people have the Delta variant or not.
Martha I hope you can get your generator fixed! Running it there sounds like a good idea!
Sue sorry about your truck but sounds as though you have good neighbors.

So I didn't find the Kimberly Clark masks but does anyone have an opinion of these that are made in Korea?

I told Steve that since we were leaving for Florida in a month, I plan on wearing my mask when we go out again, and he agrees. Until the "others" agree to get the vaccination, I guess that's how we'll have to live again.

The sale of our home in MD is running into obstacles from buyers, but we're trying to work around them. If worse comes to worse, we'll put it in the hands of a realtor, but we were hoping we didn't have to go that route. We're not so hard up that we have to sell right now. We'll pay the property taxes for another year and see what happens if we have to. Sheesh....

RE: N95 masks you want one that is NIOSH certified. Both N95 and KN95 seem to be just fine. I would hesitate to buy Korea certified masks.

Good evening!

I learned a new job at work today and it is messy! :o I was coating the joints with a fine THC powder and it gets all over everything!

I ordered some KN95 masks on Amazon tonight in leopard print! We have to wear a mask while working with the pot and and powder and I was sneezing all day. They provide the regular blue masks for us but I think maybe the KN95 mask will work better for that too. BJ, KN94 has one less layer to it than the 95's. So a little less protection.

I am so happy that Linda (Bikerchic) is planning to spend the winter out here in the Coachella Valley! Yay! :D
