Howdy all! Finally, after a week of wet weather and much needed rain, the pesky low has moved on. Back to sunshine. Temps have cooled back to our normal 70’s for highs, 50’s for lows. Now for things to dry up out there. I still have one more small section of my decking to paint and am planning on doing that tomorrow. Need a dsy to wash it, not that mom nature didn’t do it , but she didn’t use the soap/bleach combo that I do. Stuff called Mold Armour. I use it on my house and got some for the deck and porch. Just attaches to hose, spray on, wait about 10 minutes and rinse. Sure cleaned the dirt off my garage and shed. Will do the house next month as deck paint needs to cure before getting any soapy stuff on it. I want to finish up the deck and the railings left as we are heading in to mid July and as August gets closer, night dews become more prominent. So, today will wash of the deck and those rails, replace a board on the steps, got one done the other day, get primer on it and then close off that section to the dogs. Neighbors invited me over for a boat ride this afternoon, so that should be fun.

Finished reading the big article in AARP Bulletin about climate change and it’s effects on us and the environment. Very interesting and brought out a lot of things to think about, even little barely noticeable things. But also pointed out what is and will happen in different parts of the country that will alter how and where we live in the future, our food chain, the effects on wildlife, birds, water, land etc. As an example, it pointed out that when Glacier National Park was founded, it had 150 active glaciers, now only 25 remain. Sea levels along the coasts have risen 2 feet etc., temps and fires in the west are increasing, as if I need to tell you that, more rains and humid conditions in the SE part of the country as Martha can attest too, mong other things. But enough of that stuff. Gotta deal with the here and now, which is head for the shower and get this day moving. Shirl, hope your garden and even your daughters survive Elsa. Irmi, hope it doesn’t impact you downsizing process as I know you have stuff to toss, put at the curb etc. Stay safe out there.

Morning Sue and All, Elsa didn’t hurt the island just rain. Moved Juliet out of harms way. Discovered why she tipped over, a broken wheel on the plant dolly. I have a large basin that would solve the tipping and watering problem. So frustrating, I am strong enough to lift plant and put it in the basin but afraid I will pull or hurt something. Really tired of fooling with this plant. Went to the raised bed and picked grape tomatoes that were 2 1/2” long, real monsters. I shared with porch friend. Juliet is a great plant if you are 50. I am sick of weather people embellishing the weather for ratings and the media for every horror in the world. Am I the only one looking in the toilet for a python before sitting. I can’t wait for lunchtime so I can eat my daily ration of chocolate. Always makes me feel better. Be safe

Shirl, I haven't started looking for a Python yet but I'm afraid they are headed this way from Florida. I wouldn't have to call someone to remove it because it would be a dead snake. I have enough problems with Alligators. Someone was suppose to get the Alligator out of the pond but since the golf cart won't run I haven't been down there to see. I was going to go by the golf cart place yesterday when I started having trouble with the truck. I haven't heard from the Dodge place about the truck yet. Since I didn't have an appointment I probably won't hear from them until next week.

It is so humid that I can't see out the storm doors because they are wet. It isn't raining now but there is rain all around. It's probably getting ready to rain again because the TV keeps going out. If I would get dressed I think I would go pick up a lunch.

Not much sun here, Sue. We've had 2" of rain in last few days, and it rained really hard in the middle of the night. The ground was already soaked because of rain earlier in the day and the day before, so I was expecting a flood this morning. However, it seems to have drained away. I would not have wanted to be staying in a tent or even a popup in this weather. And right now it is barely 68 degrees!

Now, for my questions. I got my Progressive surge protector, but have not used it yet. Need to read instructions. However, I am now also worried about someone stealing it. I see that it has a heavy metal ring, shaped a little like a figure 8) around the cord between the plug and the device itself. I assume this is meant for a lock of some sort?? If you use a cable lock, what do you fasten it to?

I've actually accomplished a couple things before 11 a.m.!

Shirl, I'm looking for snakes everywhere after having seen so many stories of places they are showing up! Judy, do yourself a favor and have the Progressive Industries hardwired into your coach. I can't remember how I secured the plug in one, but I'm thinking to the utility post with thick cable wrapped around. I do know I put a cover over it after it got wet once and had to be replaced.

Just enough rain here to leave dirty spots on all the vehicles. More fires have started thanks to lightening. On to the next project. BFF is coming Monday so must quit procrastinating or getting sidetracked!

Was outside early this morning so I could get the last 2 bushes planted before it got hot. Tyler (fence guy) dug me 2 holes but I had to make them a little wider and deeper. Now they are in the ground, fertilized, watered and a done deal for today. I still have to add the 2 drippers for them to the automatic waterer. Only take a few minutes to do that.

Our heat will be back but nothing like we had. Will be in the upper 90's. Today will be 93 but the wind shifted and now we are filling up with smoke from the Jack fire burning out Diamond Lake Hwy. Hopefully it will shift back to the east. It isn't real dense but when I go outside I can smell it and see the haziness around me.

I also had my Progressive unit hard wired inside my electric bay. They have all the tools to cut everything and anything they want so figured it was safer that way.

I am already sick of summer LOL it is my least favorite month. I love Fall and Spring is second. Winter can go either way depending on where I am and what I am doing ha ha I am liking the fact my tomatoes are starting to turn red....yippee Good thing as I am getting tired of squash ha ha ha

I've never had hardwired ones. I bought the lock for one but never used it. The fear is talked about a lot on the rv forums, but I've never had anyone answer that they or anyone they know has had theirs stolen. I guess I'm trusting.

I asked if I could take a break (only had one room left to do) and got told of course I could. (All the rooms with check-ins today were done.) Haha .. walking back to my rig it started sprinkling, which got heavier as I walked. I made it home and the skies let loose. I'm waiting now to make sure it's over before I walk back. There's no hurry and I need to let Ty out first.

Karen, I'm with you. Fall favorite and spring second. If south winter is third. I love northern winters and the beauty but don't want to shovel, etc anymore. Younger I loved summer but I just don't handle heat well anymore.

I see quite a few snakes here, but all of them have been garter snakes and I have no problem with them. I'm told that's probably the only snake I'll see here so I'm not as cautious walking Ty as I am when in Arizona, especially warm Arizona.

Good idea, but I doubt it would fit in my electric bay. My 30 amp cord is hard-wired into the motorhome, so they would have to cut it and put a shorter cord on it. Also, it is a combination electric and dump bay, and not very tall, plus have to store my sewage hose there. Just thinking as I write, but I also suspect I would not be able to read error codes on it inside that tiny, dark bay.

I have also never had anything stolen, but it does worry me a bit. Will have to see how other campers have done it and check size inside bay.

I have used on for years. I too have read the warnings that it could be stolen off the posts. But then I also often leave my house unlocked…. If sometime in the future it gets stolen….I will still be able to eat and by dog food. I like to keep things simple when ever possible. It is a risk I am will to take will camping…

My SurgeGuard (not hard wired) had a female plug on one end and a male on the other. I would unplug the RV electric cord inside a small bay and plug that into the female plug on the SurgeGuard. Then I would plug the male plug on the SurgeGuard into another 25’ extension cord that could go out the bay through a small cutout in the bay floor. The bay door could then be closed and locked with the SurgeGuard inside and the extension cord then plugged into the post.

Good evening gals!

Woke up to 12 rain drops hitting the roof this morning. 6 more than last week! I used a different pillow last night and my neck felt good today but my shoulder still felt sore at work. Am trying to rearrange things on my table so I don't have to reach so much with my left arm for things.

They had a birthday party today for 3 people who have birthdays in July. They really did it up! Lots of food and decorations and fun! The owner was there (was his birthday too) and he is a really nice guy and seems very smart and knowledgeable about a lot of things. We even got to take home some "edibles" that one of the girls made and brought in for the party. Not too many office parties supply pot laced goodies! We didn't even have to clock out for the party. The pizza was really good too.

Sandi, that sounds like a good way to connect that surge guard.

Found out that the power outage here on Tuesday will just be for my section of the park so I am hoping I can find someone in another area of the park who would take Lola in for the day for me until I get home from work.

There is a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) set up for next weekend. I am thinking about putting out the trap for a week next to the house where the white and the orange cats live, but latching the door open all week with food in it every day, so they get used to being able to go in, eat, and go back out. Then on Friday, I can set it up normal to catch them. I will take either one of them since I don't think either of them are fixed. Will see how that goes.

Need to find something for dinner now. Gotta take out the trash tonight, and do my laundry early in the morning before it gets sweltering outside. Gonna be pushing 120" both days with dew points over 70! Just nasty!

Barbie, good idea about getting the cats use to the traps. Hope you can find someone to keep Lola.

I talked to the Dodge place and the truck brakes were locking up and that was making it drive funny. Forgot what he said made the brakes go out but they all have to be fixed. I need to drive it more often. I talked to the golf cart place and the guy that picks up carts for them wrecked his truck. When I get the truck back maybe my son can help me get the cart on the trailer and I can bring it.

I think people take bicycle cable locks and wrap the cable around the electric post and attach it to the surge protector. Or get a piece of chain and wrap it around the box and attach it to the surge protector. I don't know anyone that has had one stolen but I took mine out of the RV when I brought it to the shop. I did take a trash bag and put over the post and surge protector one time when it was raining. I have to say I'm not the most faithful about using it and have just been lucky so far.

I'll give that a try, Sandi, but my cord is hard-wired inside my bay, so it cannot be unplugged. It will depend on how everything fits because I do not want to have to put my sewer hose someplace else. It is pretty tight in there right now. Might be able to get it rewired so that electrical connection is in the larger next door bay, which is where I store clean stuff like my water hoses and some tools.

Or I may just not worry so much about it.

am in my home for a couple of days... tomorrow have eye appointment since it is at Walmart will do shopping then I bet we will go to grandson's house to "kill " some time till it's time for my hair appointment wish I'd been able to get a pedi scheduled but didn't do it oh well perhaps I can get an appt in Jackson soon... we did get the car back today had to leave the keys as mom insisted that I do so.... I don't think she fully is thinking it through... she seems to think it's ok for her to drive but she used a walker and getting the walker down the stairs and into the car on her own would be a trick... just hope that she doesn't do it...
it's good to be home quite I usually have the radio on for "noise" but for some reason's it's a different noise than the tv is at least I think it is.... probably just me
my brother text me today told me to make plans to go to the wedding but we are hoping that my brother in Idaho will respond to my text and say if he can or can't.... this is the one that through a fit on chat last winter demanding that I get back up to Idaho so I could help with mom... and he is the one who has stayed with her two days I think and visited about 3 times that I know of or is it two... oh well if he won't then my #2 brother will figure out how to help he is the one that mom stayed with for a couple of months....
Yes Martha you need to exercise those machinery guess that is what they contributed mom's car having issues not being driven enough...how ever it was better than it has been in a very long time...
if I was smart I would close and go to bed but we all know that I'm not smart in that way...
that book will call my name .... and I will read till way late like I did last night
