Shirl, are you sleeping in these days or is your tomato plant keeping you too busy to get Coffee started I getting some good laughs out of your adventures with that thing. But, in reality, it’s probably trying to follow the sun and light, reason for it growing so tall. But it keeps you busy.

Nice rainy day here today. Much needed. We had a big downpour for awhile late Monday and now it’s been raining a nice light rain since last night. My grass and plants, not to mention trees are loving it. And temps have dropped to 60 from the high 80’s and humidity. Now will go back to normal 70’s and perfect #weather. Good day for a bit of house cleaning, which I just did.

Beth, I’m with you on driving in the traffic. t least where I live, we don’t have traffic concerns except during the summer tourist season, mostly July and August. That traffic in the picture was just the holiday traffic heading home from the UP, motels, hotels, vacation homes etc. Now all is back to normal. The weekends are the busiest times. Mackinac Island has been swamped and the ferries are running full boat loads as fast as they can fill them. No way amI going over there.

Barbie, I have that same feeling about the RV’s. It’s not a cheap proposition anymore. From what I have been reading, sounds like there were a lot of trailer accidents last weekend. Speed I think is the biggest factor, combined with improper hitch systems and inexperience. People have reported been passed by rigs going 80 and our freeway speed is 75. They shouldn’t even be doing that. I’ve been seeing some crazy driving going on since the pandemic has lessened. Like people have lost all reasoning and definitely patience.

Lyn, great to see you posting again. Anita, enjoying hearing about your getting settled in your new place. Karen, you made out like a bandit with the fans and I think they will be better than the ceiling ones too. Irmi, hang in there, eventually you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just found out the other day, the a friends nephew who inherited his property and everythi g he owned when he passed away. Is having an online auction done, to dispose of it all. Friend was a small engine mechanic and has tons of stuff in the shop, plus stuff around outside etc., and then of course the house and it’s contents etc. Property is up here, nephew lives and works down state, so was the best solution for him.

And Anne, Judy is right. Why can’t you move someplace else. You really need to get that trailer on the road and explore possibilities.

Well, guess I should get some lunch and then paint in my table some more. Am putting a gingham check pattern in the top, so takes time to paint the stripes and let thrm dry. Have a nice day all, stay safe near fires and the latest tropical storm.

Good morning to all - sure wish some of that rain was coming our way. We are and will be in convection oven mode for at least at week. With overnight cools of 90!

I'm glad we decided not to go on our trip. The weather we would have been going through has been rainy, windy and HOT. Can get hot and windy here. Got a new ceiling fan put in the small room where I have my beading table. What a difference the light and moving air makes.
We are not doing much, by 8:30 it is already up to 100. Will eventually have to make a grocery rung and will got to WalMart as Bill's toilet seat broke and we need longer chains for the new fan. We both got vaccinated in March but still wear masks when going into stores. We get some weird looks from those without masks. Thinking of making a mask that says "I am vaccinated - just careful"
The new cases covid rate in Nevada is the highest in the states. But imagine it will go up in a lot of places in a week or so. Here it is mostly 20 to 40 year olds in the hospitals.
What is going on with the world? Every morning on the news some one or more has been shot or killed here in Vegas. Mothers and fathers are killing their kids! People are throwing live dogs in dumpsters. Road rage ended up in one driver driving into and killing the other driver. Maybe I'm just getting too old to understand it.
Sorry about that downer but it upsets me.
For some reason Bill bought a new scale - it shows the weight in BRIGHT red letters - ugh. Really need to cut something out of my diet - cookies and brownies and ice cream perhaps? But they taste so good.

Good afternoon All, hot and humid on the shore but temps not over a hundred. Will be keeping an eye on Elsa. Win some lose some. Black Box white sangria is the nastiest stuff I ever tasted. Simple syrup did not help a little bit. Sue, balcony gardens are difficult or at least for me. I am trying to be considerate of the tenant below me and their nice cushioned furniture. They do not need dirty water running through my plank floor. I was also concerned about weight of the pots. I have large pots of herbs, basil, flowers. I mistakenly thought the size of the pot influenced the size of the plant. I pruned the top of the tomato plant so it grew bigger sideways. Lol Juliet grape tomato is wonderful but not on a second floor balcony. I think it hates me. Be safe

Rain would be welcome here but it is 90 and sunny. Maybe some though before the week is out. Tuesday was heartworm med here for the dogs and somehow I had lost the last two of Mitzi's pills! No idea how that could have happened as iI keep them in the individual boxes they come in and hers was empty. I have to drive 25 miles to the vet we get them from. No one else carries the original Sentinel any closer. I'm not going until tomorrow when it is supposed to cool down a bit. I get 6 month supply and for all three dogs it is expensive.

I had an online appointment with a neurologist in St Louis yesterday and it was really frustrating getting everything downloaded as they can no longer use Zoom. A nice lady called and walked me through the process which I ended up having to do on my cell phone as my computer needs updating. I have someone coming next week to do the upgrade as what I'm using is too old to be done remotely. Oh well the person has been here several times and is very nice. The doctor gave me a different type drug as it was pretty obvious my body couldn't tolerate the anti seizure meds. Seizures aren't involved in Trigeminal Neurology but those drugs are used as the first line of treatment. Nerve pain is really hard--I'm beginning to believe impossible, to treat. Since it is various places in my mouth swallowing and talking is extremely painful and I am really tired much of the time.

I'm with you Carol, I just can't understand why there is so much violence going on in our country. One thing I do think is an influence is all the violence we see on TV. I have to advert my eyes or turn some programs (and some of the the news) off sometimes as it is so awful.

It's nap time here and all the dogs are quiet for the moment.

Shirlv throw that box wine away and buy some good stuff, life is too short to drink bad wine!!

Good morning. Been outside watering and it is kind of chilly out there. We have a cloud cover and will only be 85 today. A small respite from the 90's but they are coming back in a couple of days. I will wait to finish my shampooing until the warmer temps are here. I really like my new shampooer, much easier to use than my other one I lost. Was 95 here yesterday so before I went to bed opened the windows and when I got up this morning it was darn chilly. Long pants and sweatshirt for a while. Starting to warm up now so will be changing soon but closed up the house to keep the cool air inside.

Shirl for patio tomatoes I would buy the determinate kind. They dont last as long bearing fruit but they also dont lose their minds and grow so big. I plan to grow a couple of them next year also just for the containment factor LOL

Laundry on my agenda today and also need to swiffer my kitchen and dining area after a thorough vacuuming. I also need to reorganize my pantry and cupboards but that will probably be another day. I have a long list of things I need to get done inside and outside but will just peck at them at my leisure.

Karen, I planted determinate tomato last year. The tomato’s came all at once and then were gone. You think someone is trying to tell me something. Lol BJ, I agree, will not drink nasty wine.

Well, we made through the Tropical Storm, Elsa. It did rain a lot. Wind blew lots of limbs down but so far no trees. We took cover out of the Park of the Pines into brick buildings. Later this week we will get hot, in the 90’s. Hopefully we will have some sun as that has been missing.

We are missing butterflies this year. We have a few but nowhere as many as last year. I have several Passion Vines, many different Milkweed, Zinnia, dill weed, fennel (one is nearly 6’ tall!), poke berry, Guara, Bottle Brush, Weeping Yaupon, Lantana (4 -6 different ones), Bee Balm (not yet blooming), ginger, Casia (Sulphur butterfly) bush, Tiger’s Mane, Porterweed, Butterly Bush, Cigar Bush, Salvia, oh my gosh! I have more things too!! But short on the little critters. Need to see Longwing Zebra, (have seen the Swallowtail Zebra), Gulf Frits, Queens, Black Swallowtails, lost the Pea Vine Butterfly name, Monarch, did see a Silver Spotted Skipper. The close by Mockingbird has two babies out there hopping around trying to make adulthood.

Good to see you post, Birdie! Been to long, IMHO. Carol, I so agree about the things depressing me about people and their anger/rages, etc. I'm becoming a junky of watching things like Master Chef. I'm on season 2 of Master Chef Australia now. I like watching the excitement, etc of the contestants even if I'd never eat lots of the food lol

It's 90's again for a week or so here. I can't imagine even hotter. I'm grateful we get down to upper 50's lower 60's overnight. Unfortunately, not until I toss and turn in the heat for too long. So yesterday and today I slept in. Tomorrow starts my new work week and I won't have that option.

Sue, I love your responding to everything. It brings everything back that I mean to respond to lol, but you do it so well I don't feel bad.

Shirl, I always enjoy hearing about your tomato plant.

BJ, how about ordering the sentinel online? I've had good luck with a couple of the pet sites and my vets have always been willing to approve.

Birdie, good to see your post and that there wasn't a lot of damage. Shirl's tomato plant talk reminded me I never did anything about getting one. Come to find out the kids didn't plant any garden which is surprising - no idea why.

Thinking back about when I got a 'smart' phone - found out texting was very convenient when visiting relatives! Can't remember what I had for a phone before that. I totally agree about all the violence - so out of control!

I've always hated traffic and loved backroads! Wenatchee is a maze of roads, but I'm beginning to catch on though sometimes I'm not sure which road I'm on.

The day started cloudy, cool and with a little rain. Everyone is worried about wind and lightening strikes. The wildfire east of here is now over 14,000 acres.

I came into the office/playroom to continue unpacking, but getting down to 'I don't know what to do with this' phase. Creating a junk box for the time being. I have so much genealogy that needs sorting and put in the right book. Got the adapter and turned the Aladdin oil lamp into electric. Internet being installed tomorrow. Monica found a couple more of my boxes and is bringing them over. Her ex took a box to California (how many years ago?) and has made an offer to send it to me now that I'm settled. No idea what's in it, but we haven't found the family slides yet. Now to see if he does it - might need a trip down the Oregon coast. No response to my latest request to hose down my patio so I've ordered a portable pressure washer! I'll be able to use it on vehicles, too.

I got my motorhome to the shop this afternoon. I almost forgot to stop and get gas. They can't work on the generator if there is no gas. My meetup group went to Borden's tonight but I wasn't going back to Lafayette after my son brought me home. Borden's is by the college and only has things like hot dogs, Frito pies and ice cream. I sure don't need a bunch of ice cream.

If there are a bunch of RV's on the market when new people get tired of it I'm afraid it's going to be a bunch of trash. All you see on Facebook is people complaining about their new RV's. One trip and months at the dealer trying to get things fixed. They post pictures of the wiring that has been done and I don't know how more don't burn. If someone says trailer tires are rated for 65 mph someone will say they go 80 and have never had a problem.

BJ, my sister has been having pain in her mouth for over a year. I don't think the doctors know what it is or how to treat it. They keep trying different medicine and it might work for a while or cause other problems. She was allergic to one and broke out all around her waist. Now they are talking about cutting a nerve in her face and that could cause more problems. I am having pain in my knees. If I'm sitting or standing they don't hurt, just when I'm getting up or down.

Something sure needs to be done about all the guns on the street. Around here it's mostly teenagers shooting each other, probably over drugs. They don't care who gets shot and several small kids have been hit by accident. They shoot into houses and cars and sometimes it's the wrong house or car.

Birdie, glad you made it through the storm. Staying in the brick building was better than getting on the road. I need to get things ready for the next storm that might come here. The tractor wouldn't start and that needs to be fixed. We put everything up on the hill and bring the vehicles to town. I am not looking forward to that circus again this year. Do you have any hummingbirds? I had some for a while and they all disappeared except one and now I'm not seeing him.

we are seeing two hummers the reason I know that there are two is cause occasionally I see them together in fact I think I've see 3 separate ones just got to thinking that the one I saw tonight had a lot of color to it's throat and hadn't seen that before... need to see what type we have it so used to the ones in AZ with it's rosy/purple throat this was almost coppery in color or appeared to be... but you know how that can change due to light....
Birdie so good to see you posting and that you didn't have much damage... what an amount of plants you have you will have to post pictures of them... makes you wonder why not many butterflies though...
it's been of course hot today.... according to weather on phone we have a red warning out hot windy and dry (humidity) and yes it has been hear that there is also a fire burning somewhere hope it gets put out we are so in need of rain... we got some the other day and was so grateful for it but it needs to be more often... June is typically our rainy month that as well as May but we got very little for a couple years now... our temps are what we might get in Aug...
got a wedding invitation for my nephew's wedding never expected it to happen.... he has to be somewhere in the area of 56 or older my dd turned 50 on Friday and he is older than her... and he has a younger brother that is also older than dd he has never been married been in a long term relationship with his bride to be... so thrilled for him/ them I've not met her so hoping to be able to go out to the wedding will be in Wisc.
we went to a memorial today she was 98 years old..... leaves mom the oldest in our church in this area...
and the youth came over and trimmed out some bushes and shrubs mowed the lawn at least we can go down the sidewalk without having to move bushes aside!!!!

Martha and anyone else that might have symptoms, you are right about doctors not knowing about this disease. I think TMJ has similar symptoms but with Trigeminal Neuralgia it typically moves around in one side of your face. Mine is on the right side in places where it makes eating and talking very painful. I have had two other episodes that resolved within a couple of months with no treatment this has been ongoing since mid January. I've had this episode since mid-January and the pain has become steadily become worse. It is listed as a rare disease and older women are the most likely to develop it. The first drugs normally prescribed are anti seizure drugs although seizures aren't involved. Caramazepine is usually the first they prescribe (if they know about TN) it is one that a rash is a very dangerous side effect. If that doesn't work they try Gabapentin. You need to have blood work done when you take these drugs ,the first one depletes you sodium. My GP was treating me for low sodium but yet he prescribed Caramazepine. I took three doses and stopped due to side effects. Same with Gabapentin. I have seen two neurologists and still feel they don't really understand. The pain is at a level now where I am considering asking for the surgery where they cut the Trigeminal Nerve with a Gamma Knife as drugs don't seem to be something I can do as I am allergic to a lot of drugs. It is very frustrating and very difficult to get an appointment with a neurologist. i will send you a link to a Facebook group where I have learned a lot about various treatments and results. I really wanted to suggest reading it to the first neurologist I saw here. On another note, my DH as similar issues with his knees and has received considerable relief with a good CBD oil from NuLeaf Naturals He started with one drop and worked up to two drops a couple of times a day. You can order it online as under .03% THC.

Botox??? My mother was one of first people to Get Botox for very bad eye tic. That was back in early 90s.
