Thursday July 1

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I didn't remember Rabbits but then I seldom do:(
It rained last night and today was fairly cool. My tomato plants appreciated the rain. We water but a good soaking rain is always welcome.
I've been watching reruns of Andy Griffin lately and I'm beginning to see repeats.

I watched repeats of the Golden Girls for 36 years. I went from being Dorothy to Sophia. Lol

Just a quick 2nd check in~~~
The rehab place took xrays. No change to the fractured pelvis thankfully. They also actually got him started on rehab. Arms and right leg weights. Nothing on the left side since he is still listed as toe weight bearing only.
And he says he's tired of eating. Three squares a day plus morning and afternoon snacks. I didn't have the heart to tell him he does the same amount of eating when home, driving to different places multiple times a day to "visit the old guys"..

I remembered to say Rabbits a little after midnight! Yea for me! Had a great day. I drove to Mitchell and finally met Laura Maydahl and Alice and their friends after years of conversing on the internet. It’s always so much fun to met someone from the forum. So many memories that can come up and some are bittersweet. I always think of Sharon Souter the beginning of July. In fact I went to the same campground as today to meet Susan Ross and when I arrived she told me that Sharon had passed.

I’m still fighting the tendonitis, but it is getting better, still tender but better. I’ve been going to PT twice a week, have exercises to do at home and am on cortisone pills. This week I graduated from the clunky uncomfortable black brace to a compression sock to stabilize my foot. That means that I am able to wear a decent pair of sneakers rather than the pair that looked like I stole from a bag lady. If things haven’t shaped up by August 3 I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. This has really slowed down the summer activities.

Have the grandkids next weekend! I prefer to have only one at a time because they tend to fight when together and Haddie has a scream that can raise the hair on your neck! The age difference makes it had to play games with them because Bronc is bored with the ones Haddie can play. Hopefully I’m not a basket case after two days!

Do that’s my itty bitty news.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

It’s still the 1st on the west coast so I’ll just send a quick HI. Elders are finally stable here, still watching over though. Many doctor, tests, labs that keep me hopping. Very hot and dry but that’s not news. LOL. Best for a good July!

Well, I made it thru my first day at my new job. And get this!...it was fun!! The work is easy, just gluing the papers together into tubes that hold the pot. Tomorrow I will put filters in those paper tubes. One of the gals I worked with is really nice and we really connected on a lot of common interests. We chatted for the whole 5 hours about lots of stuff. The whole feeling there is very laid back and fun. Even the boss came in and made us all laugh with his stories. No pressure here and just relaxed and fun. :D

I work tomorrow and then have the weekend and Monday off. Then I have jury duty on Tuesday. Will see what happens with that. Otherwise, I have no plans for the 4th. Not sure if they will be shooting off fireworks at the casino across the street like they used to. I guess I will find out at dusk on Sunday.

Beth, I multiplied 365 times 20! :o  . Not thinking clearly lately! There is one episode that I haven't ever seen and that is the one where Marshall Dillon falls in love with a new woman (Michael Learned) while he has amnesia. That is the only kiss he has in the whole series of Gunsmoke. Turns out she gets pregnant and has his baby but he doesn't know about it until 20 years later (a later Gunsmoke movie revealed this). I have really been wanting to see that episode but no luck so far.

Cheryl, glad your dad didn't have any further injury from his latest fall.

Irmi, I hope you get your house cleaned out and sold before you head south again.

Judy, glad you got most of the things fixed in your rig. Good luck with the tooth!

Karen, the meatloaf muffins sound really good. I have never made meatloaf but I love it. I should try it some time and freeze the muffins like that.

Barbie, Gunsmoke used to only be on once a week. My parents watched it every week so it wasnt on 365 days for 20 years. That's where your math went south LOL LOL

we had a day that is what it was a day!!! got up and fixed breakfast went to put the dishes in the dishwasher away had so many that didn't get clean... I'd noticed the screen seemed not clean but didn't know what to do about it ... then mom saw me put so many dishes back in the dishwasher told her I thought it was the screen but that I didn't know how to clean it thought we would have to scrape it off and I didn't think either of us could mom didn't think she could get on her knees and get up I knew I couldn't and reach as well so went and did a google search and she went looking for the handbook... after watching a couple of short video's looked fairly easy after reading scriptures went out to work on it.... but mom was there trying to figure out how to do it... I told her I was going to and she said something to the effect that she had to do something not just set around eye opener there... so since I was going to make a potato salad I got the stuff and put it on the table and suggested while I worked on the dishwasher she could make the potato salad... she got the better end of the deal
even though she was complaining cause the eggs just didn't want to be peeled except for the two I did  that dishwasher was so gunky just awful took a picture of what I got out of it.. posted on FB yes it is so much easier to post on FB but if you want to see it I will send the picture to Beth and she can post it for me  I finally got it clean washed a load but haven't emptied it yet... with the car being repaired she is so afraid something else will go wrong... Nephew and his fam came for supper had hot dogs and corn on the cob potato salad and got rid of the creamed potatoes and peas... YES!!!! it's gone!!!! for left over's it grew every time I served it...
so that was our day might have to make the meat loaf in muffin tins
Irmi the market is really good right now at least here in the west it is... I'd empty first and then get it staged and on the market
by now I've forgotten what everyone said so I can comment
we haven't heard from Lyn yet!!!! we get to an age that one worries when we don't see someone for awhile
and what I was going to mention yesterday was we have had Hummingbirds!!!! yea :D :D so happy to see them
it's cooler or feels like it anyway...
you hall have a great day

Well, here I am! After all this time, and hours on the phone, I can suddenly post. I continue partly well. Lungs being the worst problem.
I have no clue why I kept getting a message about AT&T internet security phishing page blocked and not allowing me to post.
Each day I would attempt something else. Yesterday I wrote we were ready to change providers. And, we were. So today I can post!!! I don’t understand any of this.
Modern technology has passed me by.
I have so much I want to comment to the forum, I don’t know where to begin.(very seldom do I remember rabbits). Today is the 2nd anyway.
I finally saw Nomaland. Liked it. Loved the part about the desert. Thought it was quite slow in parts. Thought it should have been a documentary about supporting ones self while living on the road rather than a full length movie. And, best picture…come on people, that’s absurd.
I continue to read…. Got involved with a series that has 17 books, so far. Next will be out in August this year.
We have had a couple of huge family gatherings. So happy to be able to do so again.
Keeping my fingers crossed I can cccontinue being able to post

So happy to hear from you. Technology wears me out also. I fantasize that some day I will live closer to my son and law and he will figure everything out that makes my brain hurt. I just know that there should be easier ways to take advantage of all the wonderful things Tech progress can do for us.

As always some of us would love recommendations for reading, series and all. There are so many choices out there at my library.

Look forward to hearing from you more often and your keeping us informed about the west coast along with Catherine!
