Good Morning. Sun is up and dsy wil be warming into mid to upper 70’s. Maybe showers tonight. Hope so, although it will put a crimp in my deck project, but that’s okay,as we need it. I did get 3/4 of the railing done before the paint tan out. So off to Home Depot this morning for more. After taking yesterdsy off for my birthday, back to work today

Shirl, good luck with trimming your tomato plants. Maybe the second floor folks might like some fresh tomatoes, if you let them keep going  I’m enjoying reading about your garden adventures.

Nothing much else to report this morning, so I’m going to get busy here. Have a nice day everyone. Judy, se t you a PM.

Morning Sue and All, sunny, cool and lovely. Opened the balcony door for fresh air. The house finches in the rafters were having a heated conversation. So loud I had to shut the door. Think they need a marriage counselor. I did prune the tomato plant, hope it survives. Going to lunch and visit a new store with porch friend. Hoping the store has a place to sit down to try on shoes and they have clothing that do not contain spandex. I now know why seniors sometimes wear ratty old clothes with holes. On a positive note, we are going to use my Mother’s Day gift card for Olive Garden. Sue, at your age you deserve a repeat birthday celebration.  Be safe

Good morning, Sue and all. Temps were in the high 30’s this morning when I got up but supposed to get up in the 70’s today! Judy, congrats on your retirement! As I see the forecast for the center of the states it seems the heat is going to be following you east. I spent most of yesterday on the phone and computer so didn’t get out in the yard as I had hoped so today I really need to get busy outside and get the yard mowed before rain possibly comes back tomorrow. And still looking for the new anode I know is around here somewhere. I got it awhile ago but we never used it so I know I put it in a safe place but I can’t remember where! Story of my life! I’m enjoying reading about all the flower and gardening you all are doing. I just haven’t gotten back into planting anything new around my yard. I still have plenty of plants that come up every year so I just work with that! I really want to get to the Amish market but need to get things done around here so guess I’ll wait for a rainy day to go. Sue, I wish I had your energy! You do make me tired just reading about all your projects! And would love it if you came back to PA for a visit! Garbage men just here so need to go bring in my van so guess I need to get busy with my plans for the day. Hope you all have a great day and stay cool for those of you experiencing the heat. Btw, Anita, I have an Outback and really have enjoyed it. Only real problem I had was the need for a stronger battery early on. Apparently the things that draw on it battery when it’s sitting was to much for the factory installed one. Dealer replaced it and no problems since. They admitted that it had been a problem with other ones too.

Good morning. It is a very nice morning and I am going to enjoy it while I can as the heat wave is a comin'. We will possibly be 100 on Monday. I have my windows and screen door open to let in some cool air before we heat up. Happy Sue's birthday month, not much left of it but enjoy. Happy retirement for Judy, wahoo. Best decision I ever made was to retire. I said the day I retired I would not work again and so far I just have not and never plan to. I thought I might have been bored BUT that has not been the case in 5 years so think I am good to go.

Have my neighbor Jerry coming over this morning He is very distraught as he was hacked by something or someone and had a $560 charge for Norton, and someone tried to take $4500 from his bank account. Got it straightened out at the bank and they changed his user name for him but he has to change his password. And also put a virus app and spyware removal app on his phone and tablet. I told him I cannot help him over the phone so he will come over this morning and I will get him all fixed up. Hopefully he will stop clicking on links in his email or visiting sites he shouldn't. I have told him over and over not to do that but what's a gal to do. Wish me luck.

I was terrified of retiring - I mean, what would I DO? Watch TV all day? Would I have enough money to see me through? Ugh. Probably worked a few years longer than I should have done due to the anxiety. After officially 'retiring' I still worked part-time for about another six months to train my successor (and also due to fear), then bit the bullet.

LOL. I have never looked back. I LOVE being retired!!

Good Morning!

I like hearing from others that they enjoy their Subaru - only had one bad report that wasn't exactly up-to-date. We took it yesterday to pick up Dan's truck up north so it had a good drive. Trying to figure out all the beeps! :)

Sue, happy birthday a little late! Shirl, glad you are having a day out! Sheila, I am so used to parking way out when I had the truck. I brought it here one night to unload things and thought I'd never get it in the tight little space. :) Karen, glad you can help with the Internet security! Scary stuff. Velda, ouch on the wasp sting! Haven't had one in years, but I remember it! Was using a table saw while building a house and one stung be on the back of my leg! I hadn't even bugged it! Barbie, I recently had a couple of occasions where I felt a foot was vibrating. Weird! Martha, I love all your trips to town! My problem here is that I don't like going to Wenatchee - nothing is a straight shot and I'm so good at missing turns.

Finished coffee so will get ready for the day - appreciated sleeping until 7. Monica had planned to come, but they had an invitation to go fishing. Not that I have anything to do here  , but Dan may have to make a trip to Cle Elem this afternoon and asked if I wanted to ride along. Why not because he'll be leaving Monday. He has been a Godsend during all these vehicle transactions. It was just nice at times to have someone to back up or help me make decisions.

Have a good day!

Drove 265 miles today from Denver to a lake north of Ogallah, Nebraska. After four days of 99-102 degree temps in Denver, it was 93 when I got here at 5 pm. I stopped at Walmart in town--horrible store. First problem was that trucks and RVs were not allowed in parking lot, so you were supposed to park in uneven dirt lot next door. Big line of semis using the lot and having to walk in dirt really irritated me, so of course I found a store manager and complained. Then even though store says it is a Superstore, they lie. It is about half the size of a real Superstore, so of course did not have everything I needed, like non-diet Dr. Pepper or Pepsi. Anyway, I get really insulted when my big rig cannot park in a paved lot and has to go in the dirt among the big trucks and the clouds of dust. I am buying just as many groceries as anyone else!!

Then when i went back to my car with my groceries, there was a super-C pulling a huge car trailer stuck in the dirt lot. What happened is that it got hung up in the middle, where the two pieces were attached, because there were a couple of big holes. The owner and his family were shoveling dirt and throwing in a ton of firewood logs to fill holes up while they tried to back up on everything. (I'd have been in the store talking to the manager and giving him a piece of my mind!) Back of truck/RV and front of big trailer were dragging on the ground with tires in the holes. Hope he got it out without tearing up the underside of his rig.

And all of this in 93 degree temps! (My two bras are sitting in the bathroom sink being washed out!) It is not almost 8 pm and temps are now down to 85 degrees. I am sitting inside waiting for my AC to cool this thing off, however, I will not have to turn on my water heater for a shower because water from my fresh water tank is HOT!! No such thing as a glass of cold water unless I put ice in it. Just fixed myself a steak sandwich. Was going to get myself some fast food, but too hot.

Headed to York, NE, tomorrow and will stay two nights. Going to be 89-90 high but if I can run AC all day, it will be OK, then on Sunday, head out of this heat wave!! Hopefully. At least better than four days of 100 as in Denver.

I planted my plants so hopefully I can leave it all alone now other than water... it looks like mom's portulaca need to be dead headed I hate doing that!!!!
one of my dd's popped in tonight she must have to work in the office tomorrow will be here all next week so maybe we won't have so much left overs... so hard for me to not over plan...
a week from this weekend we are all going to the Bar J Wranglers they have decided to retire from this site (think the land sold) but think they are doing on the road stuff but not sure of that ... son and dd from SLC will be up as well as dd and family from Ogden we are doing a family thing... in the morning I think we are going to meet here at mom's for breakfast possibly sour dough pancakes most of the family likes it but son in law doesn't might need to have some other as well... I thought that would be good than that way if mom doesn't go with us she will see some of the family... dd and son are leaving to come up on Saturday morning so they won't be here... don't know why they are doing it that way could make a late night and come up on Friday night...
it was not a overly busy day
don't know what is on the agenda tomorrow other than mail something
really need to work on that memory box but it's in the other room so never think of it except when we eat
thought of something O'Sharon said earlier today and a reply back not it's gone... it usually comes to me later when it doesn't matter
for those who use the air fryer a question of all places in the word search mag they will occasionally have words from a recipe to find and the recipe is in the list the one I did today was called Chili-Apricot Pork Chops actually sounded really good but it have the meat being broiled 4-6 minutes each side or till temp would you think this would work in an air fryer?
well you all have a great day

Sheila, I love the pork chops I've cooked in my air fryer. You'll just have to find the time and temp for the type pork chops and I'm sure that recipe would work.

I'd planned to wait until I turned 70 to start on social security to get the max amount. Well I only turn 69 later this year so called ss yesterday and got estimates for at my birthday this year vs next. I still like the larger amount but she also told me that even if I only waited part of the year next year to remember the amount goes up monthly. So I was crunching numbers today and if all goes according to my new plans, I'll probably start taking it spring or early summer next year. I'm proud of myself for making it this long lol.

I've had no desire to do any sightseeing, etc in this heat. And I need to do a load of laundry tomorrow. I'm going to try to go over early, but that's not likely to happen lol I did get my replacement latch on the RV today that holds my door open. So as temps went down it was nice to use it to help cool the rig down again. The breeze comes from that side most of the time. I'm very grateful that we still have cool nights.

Judy, I ran into a Walmart like that several years ago. I thought the signs meant overnight so parked in the lot. I got in trouble. I was shopping and the manager found me. I started out friendly but when he said I had to move my then 22 foot class c immediately, I gave him my cart and told him to put everything back and walked out. I understand your frustration.

I just noticed it's after midnight here. I best get to sleep so I don't sleep in too late tomorrow. Ty's been getting decent morning walks before it gets too hot. I want to try to keep those up.

Good for you, Beth, for leaving your groceries!

I also had plans to do some sightseeing in Denver this past week and even rent a car, but I ended up just hunkering down inside because if the heat. And tonight about 11 pm, I was ready to go to bed and my AC cut off. Tripped a breaker and I had trouble resetting it. Started to panic when I could not reset it. Had to sit and think before I realized had to turn everything off and then the switch would reset. Whew. Working now. Not a good time to lose AC.
