Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Good morning. It’s cool and wet day so far. We had a couple of strong thunderstorms yesterday afternoon so it’s to wet to do any mowing but I can go out and at least pick up all the little branches out of the driveway and yard. I didn’t realize the wind was that strong. I had a busy day trying to get caught up with everything from being gone plus doing laundry so ready for the next trip. Not sure if it’ll happen with Rascal’s still having a bit of trouble getting into the RV. I just don’t know what else I can do to make it easier for him and the problem being that he still seems to enjoy going. He loved his walks last week and meeting other pets and people. And so many new smells! So guess time will tell. I’m loaning my ears at my DIL’s office today. The staff is learning about a new piece of equipment and they needed a few pair of ears to practice with. I’m not sure what I volunteered for but figure it might be interesting! So meanwhile I’ll try to get some more things done around the house.
This weather is so crazy between the rain and fluctuations in the temps. Today’s forecast is for low 70’s with it climbing the rest of the week into the 80’s again with rain here and there. So not much else happening here. Shirl, hope the tomato plant doesn’t take over your balcony to the point you can’t sit outside! You must have a real green thumb! Okay, I really need to put the iPad down and busy. Talking about it doesn’t get it done! Hope you all have a great day and stay safe.

Morning Sharon and All, we had a gulley washer last night too but so nice this morning, Daughter said surprised the plants in the raised bed survived but still standing. My giant tomato plant got a good soaking too. Sheila, if you have plenty of freezer space at you moms life will be easier. When you cook make extra and freeze a dinner for your mom. Make a pot of soup and freeze portions for her along with a hot biscuit with butter or jelly. Buy a bag of frozen biscuits. Make Mac and cheese in crockpot, cut in squares, freeze. Heat Mac & cheese in toaster oven and serve with steamed broccoli from microwave. Buy a rotisserie chicken, serve with instant mashed potatoes, gravy made from package and a vegetable, hot chicken sandwich’s, next night chicken salad sandwich or served on salad greens. Breakfast for dinner. Unsweetened applesauce with lots of cinnamon and a cookie for desert. :D Sorry if I’m posting what you already know but you know how old people are. Martha, loved the photo, sure miss camping. Anita, good luck car shopping. Be safe

Sugar has been scratching a lot so I gave her a bath this morning. I didn't see any fleas so don't know what her problem is. I had changed her food a month ago so think I will go back to the old food and see if that helps. I think she has decided a bath isn't that bad and I didn't have to drag her to the bathroom.

I'm waiting on the RV shop to call me back so I can make an appointment. I think it was the generator that caused my problem over the weekend. I just love to wait on people. It is suppose to rain and I need to go mow.

Shirl, you are making me hungry with your meal plans. My intentions are to try to get the amount of food in the freezer down but that's not happening very fast. I missed the weather this morning so don't know the latest on the area they are watching in the gulf. It will probably just be a lot of rain but who knows.

One of the caladium bulbs I planted finally has a leaf. It sure took it a long time to grow.

Afternoon all. Taking a break from working on my deck railings as I put primer in and waiting for it to dry so I can start painting them. One of those house maintenance chores Ya gotta do sometimes. And the weather is just perfect for it too. Cool and sunny, no humidity etc. Looks like a pretty nice stretch of weather for awhile, 70’s to mid 80’s and back to 70’s again. No rain in sight and we really need it. Majority of the State is in either abnormal or moderate drought conditions. Pop up storms here and there have missed us here. Had a little rain on Sunday night, but not enough to help much.
O’Sharon, glad you had a nice camping trip other than locking yourself out. Nice having good camping neighbors to help out. I keep thinking I should come back to PA again someday. Peggy, hope your camping trip isn’t too soggy. I’m getting to be a wimp when it comes to cooler weather camping, like lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Guess I just want to be home in my warm house  No trips planned for me right now. I’m enjoying just working around the house outside and some yard decorating projects. Got three things going right now. When I tire of one, I work in another.

Guess I had better check on my primer and start painting. Don’t know how far I will get as I only have about half a gallon of paint at the moment. Will go as far as I can and get more later. I’ll be working on the deck for awhile as I want to add another section of railing, reconfiguring it a bit, and then need to paint the landing railings to my side door and replace a couple step boards. My porch, my landing and my deck all have white railings and I decided it’s too much white. So all but the porch will be same color as deck. Off to work!

I have finished grading all the the last papers and the oral presentations from last week, so the only thing left is about 25 final exams, forever. YEA!!!! These are only one page long, but i have to make comments on them. Should be able to get them done today, then I will turn in grades tomorrow and be done, done, DONE.

Hot last several days and supposed to be 99 today and tomorrow. Then Thursday morning I will head to Ogallala and the next day to York, Nebraska. By then, temps should start getting better, I hope.

So, really slept in today, and did some chores, so now it is time to get those last exams done.

Oh, Judy, you must be so excited. Tomorrow you can officially become retired! Congratulations. And Anita, I, too, am awaiting news on your car search. Sue, you always make me tired when I read your projects. I'm glad you ladies on the east have rain and acceptable temps. Please send some of both west. I know I'm dreaming. And Shirl, you made me hungry!

Work was easy peasy today. I can't convince my managers I don't want help on the slow days. So I ended up only working 2 1/4 hours and that took doing some extra. Oh well. I like them, but they don't know how to manage the motel and I keep my mouth pretty much shut as I don't want to step on toes. They moan and groan about not getting time off, but then don't let the person who is supposed to cover for them do so. And do some of my work when I'd rather they didn't. Oh well.

I think I'll head to town for a couple things. Unfortunately it's too hot for Ty to come with. He will survive.

It is 3:35 pm and the temp is now 100 degrees! My AC started making a funny sound, so I turned it off, and then tried to turn it back on again. Would not restart, so I started to panic!! Sat down to gather my wits, so to speak, and it finally started again with no weird sound. Whew! Was even thinking of turning on vehicle AC until it cooled down a bit here.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Going out to dinner tomorrow night with my nephew and his partner, then heading to Nebraska on Thursday morning. Will really be glad to get out of this hot weather.

Judy, congrats on your retirement!! Yay! Finally done! Do watch the weather forecast. The heat might be following you. :o :o Colorado is supposed to have record temps near 115* and that is just west of Nebraska so you might get it there too. I know Minnesota has been pushing 100* the past couple days as well. Maybe you need to go visit Sue! Sounds like she has some very comfortable temps up there! :D

Am getting some things out of my shed to sell. Am posting them on my community FB page first and then will post on NextDoor and then whatever I have left, will post on Craigs List. Most are things I have never used that were pretty expensive.

I tried again to do my taxes on Turbo Tax but finally gave up. I need to find a tax person around here to do them for me. When we sold my dad's house, we took a loss on it so we each get a capital loss of $3000 per year for 5 years. That is what is messing me up.

Still need to make my tuna salad. Should do that now so it will be good for dinner after it sits for a few hours in the fridge.

114* right now. Sunny and no wind. The hotter it gets here, the less wind we have. :( Lola is begging me to go out on the porch but I think it is too hot for her, whether she agrees or not.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I didn't look at the temps today but it didn't seem to be as hot as it was yesterday... and I didn't accomplish anything at all
didn't go to the store nor get plants but did untangle my cotton yarn so I can continue on my dishcloth... once I get started on untangling yarn there is no interrupting just can't set it aside and do something else...
there are other deep freezes that were finally emptied up and then turned off I have no idea how to turn them on and the fact that they are way old so costly to run we do use our left overs I am just not used to having to plan a menu anymore...
tomorrow might be french dips have to go to the store for milk anyway as well as a few other things and something that I forgot to put on list and now I can't remember what it was!!! dang hate it when that happens :o
I was going to say something about what was said but now I can't remember what it was
you all have a great day
