Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday

Morning All, sun and heat returning this morning. Got a text that there are green beans in the raised bed. I planted bush beans because it is my daughters favorite so hope she enjoys. Haven’t checked the traffic cam but know beach goers are on the road. Have no reason to leave home so will just stay put. New toaster oven is bigger and has more dials so will play with that this weekend. Youngest granddaughter and I had a wonderful visit yesterday. Healthcare systems are still trying to recover from pandemic. She brought crab cakes for lunch, helped hang item that required a ladder and left with great grandma’s China. So glad someone wanted it. Be safe

Good morning all, It is hot and humid but supposed to cool off soon. I can hope!! This morning started with the smoke alarm going off, at least it wasn't the middle of he night like usual. The fireman who came said he had been here twice before and was sorry we had so many problems! The smoke alarms they have been giving people and this last one that we bought and had someone install on the ceiling were First Alert brands. I think that company must have made a bad batch!! The alarm was going off and it is right above the bed. I was already up and went in to find my DH was on his phone thinking it was an amber alert!!! Yes he has really bad hearing, does he ever wear a hearing aid....of course not! :(:( The nice fireman replaced it with a Code One hope it works better!!

Shirl I'm happy you had a good visit with your granddaughter. I'm glad she wanted to keep the china so many don't want nice china. I have a Cuisinart toaster oven and it will hold a 9" skillet or baking dish and I use it a lot more than my regular oven.

Good morning Shirl, BJ and all you ladies!

Shirl, I was so hoping you'd have a good time with your granddaughter and happy she took your china! You can't go wrong having MD crab cakes. BJ, glad you got the smoke alarm changed and hope this one works better.

It is currently raining, which we really need and it is and has been quite warm here, but not you gals on the west coast. Our afternoon highs have been in the low to mid 90's. We will be starting to leave here two Monday's from now and have lots to do to prepare for our trip. Steve was rearranging his basement compartments this morning and loaded cardboard boxes there and on the back seat of the car to bring things back for the casita. Our taxes are done after filing for a very pricy extension and still have to pay quarterly taxes on top of that. Ouch! It looks like the rain has stopped and I'm sure right now it is very sultry outside.

We are finally getting some rain, not alot but it is supposed to rain again this evening so that makes me happy. I dont have to water anything YAY I see blue skies and clouds right now and it is 60° so very pleasant outside. I will be working inside today tho, at least this morning. I need a few things at the store but that will wait until Monday when all the weekend shoppers done.

Tacos for dinner tonight. Easy day planned here LOL Might just find a good show to watch and snuggle down with the dog this afternoon.

And I replied to it, BJ.

Worked this morning and going back shortly to organize for tomorrow. It's going to be busy and the local hired to help out said she can't work tomorrow. Actually one room left a day early so that got done today and helps. But I'm going back to do set ups to make tomorrow easier. I normally try to organize for the next day before leaving, but we've not done towel and sheet set ups here before. I'll see how I like it when I'm looking at a busy day. If it's a half hour or so today and I save it tomorrow, that's a good thing.

I discovered a water leak between my site and the next one yesterday. Oh, the poor maintenance guys. It required shutting off the water to about 1\2 the cg. I filled my tank first. Then digging in the mud from the leak. Ty sat in the window watching. He loves these guys. Boy did these guys get dirty. Ty, who won't go in water, would have happily played in the mud. No, I didn't let him near it.

It's supposed to hit the upper 80's here today then in the 90's for the next week plus. Luckily nights will continue cooling off. But it's hot everywhere it seems.

Wanted to open my windows last night but no wind blowing, so that wasn't gonna work. No more open windows now with the excessive heat moving in. Was about 110* today.

I put the bins of water by the two park models where the cats live, this morning. Will refill every morning.

Stopped at WM to pick up a prescription and a few things to make tuna salad for the week. That is one of the few things I don't mind eating every day for up to 5 days. No cooking involved either (other than boiling the noodles. WM had small packages of shell pasta for sale for .26 cents each so I bought 4 of them plus I had a couple bags from before, so I have plenty for tuna salad for now and later. Makes for an easy and good summer meal. Also got enough bottled water to last me all next week. I just don't want to have to go anywhere if I can help it.

I called my brother in Tucson this afternoon. I haven't talked to him for about 6 months. He seems pretty good altho it sounded like he is having more trouble speaking now. Probably more issues from the traumatic brain injury. He sounded pretty upbeat tho. He and his wife love their new home in Tucson. They have a nice back yard for their dogs. Maybe later this fall I will drive out and see them.

I also wanted to tell him a relative of ours passed away 3 weeks ago. My dad's cousin from Moline, IL. We spend a lot of time with him and his kids when we were young. I had stopped to visit him for a few days on the way to meet up with Linda in Des Moines back when we were heading to California together almost 11 years ago. I am very glad I made that side trip to visit them.

No noticeable earthquakes so far. :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

did get plants question is did I get enough??? guess we will know when I start planting them
and made it to the store... It's awful when you are set in your ways and the products now don't accommodate what you used to use... I wanted to make an angel food cake for tomorrow (yes I use a mix) and there is the problem a long time they started producing a 1 step method I prefer the 2 step method it's so hard to find that type of mix... Albertson's used to carry one in their Signature brand but didn't even see that brand of cake mix... Smith's (Krogre ) didn't have any off brands so got Duncun Hines in the one step to me they don't rise up as high... guess something I will be on the look out for and buy a couple of boxes when I do find them Western Family was also another one that carried it but they don't exist now
also vacuumed I get up earlier than I did at home but don't seem to accomplish more... of course I am fixing meals now which some times didn't happen...
so that was my day my 2nd born and her husband one one daughter will be hear for supper... thought that they would be here earlier but opted for a 6 ish dinner.... which is when we normally eat... maybe I will make that angel food cake in the early afternoon maybe!!
so that is my story of my day
it is suppose to getting hot here as well and way to early to get that hot it's normally not till end of July or August when it gets into the ninety's.
you all have a good day
