The rose is gorgeous!
The bees on the poppy painting look almost 3D because of the shadows you put beneath them!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Did a double take at the rose, I thought it was a photo! You are doing very well.

Sandi, keep them coming. My favorite flower is peony. Is that a hard to paint with all the petals?

Yes, I think it’s one of the more difficult flowers to paint, but I never let that stop me before. Can’t guarantee anything, but I’ll see what I can come up with - success or failure.

I was going to do just one painting today, the lighthouse, but at the last minute decided to do the birds too. I had seen “birds on a wire” pictures years ago so decided to take a shot at it.

Your painting continues to amaze me! How did you begin to learn?

I really haven’t done anything special to learn. I’ve never had an art class in school. I do remember liking to paint during free time in kindergarten but never took an art class in school or elsewhere. I discovered at age nine in 5th grade that I could draw when I was able to make a wall-sized map of California for a group project. I just decide I want to try something without instruction and “jump in.” I’m still waiting for the special paper I need for Chinese Brush Painting to arrive from China. So far it’s been 22 days and waiting. I’ve tried on the paper I have with disastrous results. So I’m not so sure whether that style of painting may be my downfall. We’ll see.

I live alone with my 2 dogs, and painting during the pandemic when there have been so many restrictions has been a lifesaver.
