Beautiful Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Thursday

Good morning out there. Beautiful sunny and cool morning. Yes, that’s not a typo, it’s cool out there. 61 degrees with a cool breeze. We had an East wind yesterdsy and by evening it set off some showers and storms to my west. They must have pulled the humidity and dewpoints with them, as the air kept cooling and feeling great. Was actually a nice cool, sleep with the windows open, snuggle under the blanket night. Ahhhhh.

Beth, I’m with you, as I don’t tolerate hot weather anymore either. Have to just lay low and find things to do like craft projects or something inside. Fortunately we don’t see this type of weather here a lot. Back to normal next week with highs in 70’s :D

Decided yesterday to take that ride north as figured it would be cooler. Was. Went over the bridge, ate at a drive in up in St. Ignace. Remember those places with the car hops and trays that fit on your windows. This place. Is still doing that. Regular old fashioned drive in. Only With the Covid, food is in bags instead of on trays. Then went over to Brevoort Lake Recreation area, National Forest campground, boat launch and picnic area. The campground is rustic of course, but very well maintained with nice wooded sites, both on and off the water. There is a nice boat launch area with canoes and kayaks to rent, via the campground hosts, a fishing/swim platform and couple nice rockers to sit and enjoy the water. There is also a restroom building with sinks and flush toilets. On the way home we stooped at our favorite park by the bridge. Molly and Piper took full advantage of the water, wading in and out along our beach stroll and getting wet up to their tummies   I’m sure it felt good to them in the hot weather although it was in the 70’s there. And a good stiff breeze. Perfect.

So guess today is back to reality. Need to run the vac while it’s cool and swifter kitchen and bathroom floors, run some errands in town etc. then work on a small table I am repainting for my porch. A folding one my dad made years ago.

So I had better get with it. Have a nice day everyone :)

Morning All, Still hot and humid. Been busy watering balcony garden, have a couple of little green tomatoes. Maintenance came yesterday to change filters, etc. I ask if my son could extent the balcony out a couple of feet to accommodate the tomato plant. He laughed and said no. I guess he thought I was kidding. Sue, thanks for the ride along, sounds wonderful. I still check trader online to see what’s for sale. There is a nice campground a few miles from my children. It would be nice to have a trailer there to escape the horrible summer traffic and be able to join family for cookouts or just to visit. It would not be a good decision financially or for me physically but it’s fun to search. Be safe and stay cool

We all seem to be good at complaining about the weather. I'm rocking and rolling with the wind. I'm tired of it. Yesterday I had my door latched open and it broke my latch. Ordered a new one from Amazon but now can't have my door open until it arrives. And am hoping the holes line up so it's a perfect fit. Otherwise I'll need help. I'm not surprised it broke. The winds have had it working hard to do it's job. I picked south Utah so have only myself to blame.

I haven't even walked Ty yet this morning. I hate cutting his walks short but it's no fun when it's so windy. But I do need to get him out soon. He's finally up (gotta love a dog that will sleep in more than me!)

Shirl, I laughed that he thought you were joking. But you knew the answer lol

Sue, loved traveling with you yesterday.

Good morning -

Sue, that was such a great trip yesterday! Shirl, I mentioned my dirty patio and unfinished landscaping to the girl in the office yesterday who is suppose to talk to the guy - ha! Believe I'll track him down today. Beth, the camper door was held open by a gas strut - that didn't last long in the wind.

Yesterday was a totally frustrating day. I typed it all out and deleted so you don't have to read my trivial complaints. :)

I will finally run some errands today and get a hair cut! Today is Monica's last day of work for a bit so wedding things need to be handled. I think she and I are both ready for a break. Really looking forward to my grandson and his new bride being here along with Monica's best friend (who will stay here). The others not so much. See I'm still complaining. A ride will be good even if it is into Wenatchee.

Have a good day!

Good afternoon. Had to run a couple of errands this morning and I am loving this weather. We had sunshine up until about 4pm yesterday and then the sky got dark and we had some serious rain. It smelled so good out there. I do love the rain as long as it knows when to quit!!!! Harvested another couple of squash today which I took over to Jerry my former neighbor. Got an email bid for my fence from neighbors grandson that own his own fence company. He was here and measured last weekend. Sent me an email with invoice bid yesterday. I had to go mail his deposit and I am actually on the schedule now for the end of July.....wahoo. The other nice fellow I was going to have do it just pretty much disappeared so phooey on him. I am movin' on.

Having salmon, baked yam, and some carrot/turnip mash (my grandma used to make this) it is soooooo good. Other than that just a load of laundry in and then time for some afternoon tv and a mocha.

Anita I always feel so much better when I can come on here and share all my frustrations and just vent. Some days there are lots and others none. So it evens out in my book LOL Shirl my tomatoe plants are growing rapidly also, I have lots of teeny tiny tomatoes coming on. They are in tubs by my deck and I am sure I will have to tie them to the deck eventually ha ha

OK time for lunch and who knows what else

We had - are having - a beautiful day here in Vegas. Only 90 degrees out with a strong breeze - big wind to really keep things feeling cool. Got up at 4 a.m.- so just got up from a nap! Working on planning our summer vacation after getting the "go enjoy yourselves" from the heart doctor. Mid July to almost end of August we have already got reservations for Leavenworth, WA 1 week and 4 different campgrounds on the Oregon coast 1 week each. Now if we could just agree on the route to Washington. Have changed it three times already. We can't leave here until June 26th because of waiting for meds to be filled - ugh...
Next week here in Vegas it will be 115 OR HIGHER! time to get out of town. Tomorrow will probably be the last day for me walking in the morning, unless I go before sun rises. Been doing pretty good. 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 miles every other day.

I got a notice for jury duty for July 6th. Luckily the courthouse is just a mile away from me.

I went to look at a Dodge Grand Caravan for sale at a small local dealer. Wasn't interested in that particular car but just wanted to see one in person. The size in back seems doable but none of the windows open other than the front two windows. I would need to open some windows for air flow. Not really planning to get anything right now anyways but just checking out options for later.

Just walked down to the mailbox. It is really nice out this evening. Maybe if the wind picks up, I can open the windows again tonight. Last night was so nice with a cool breeze blowing thru! Need to take advantage of the nice "cool" weather while it lasts. Next week will be really hot.

I noticed that Spooky was lounging on the seat of my golf cart tonight! :D He still hisses at me when we are a few feet apart but will meow for his food until I fill the dish. Last night I saw the black and white fluffy kitty on the deck with the orange kitty. I didn't know they were buddies. I haven't seen the white cat but he has been marking on the deck recently.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Went for a bike ride into Frisco today. I love Heaton Bay because it is right on a paved bike trail that goes 20 miles around the Dillon Reservoir. Obviously, I did not take the whole route, but it was enough to make me feel more confident about riding. After my late December really bad fall into traffic, and the one scrape on my foot taking two months to heal, I have been less confident (chicken???) about riding my bike and falling again. This bike is faster on the take-off and a little harder to control the steering. Also, the front brakes were working, but rear brakes are completely not working. I stopped in a bike store in Frisco, but they did not have time to fix them. Will try at a Pedego store in Denver, which is my next stop tomorrow.

Got about 25 oral presentations to grade and 35 final exams (these will go quickly) and THEN I AM DONE WITH TEACHING!!!!!!!!!!! Yea! Wish some of you were around to share a bottle of champagne I have tucked away!! And I will be 78 next Friday, so even more to celebrate!!

Sheila, the memory care facility where my aunt is living in Georgia is having problems with her taking showers on her own. The caregivers are supposed to supervise showers, but she has a private room and private bathroom, so when she wants to take a shower, she just goes in and does it! The caregivers don't know until one of them hears the shower going! And she has fallen a couple of times stepping out of the shower, although she is pretty OK in terms of walking. We did get her some non-slip shower rugs to step on when she gets out, but she is just too darned independent!! Good that you are at least standing by the door when your mother takes her shower. But you can't do anything when she is alone.
