Thanks Shirl, I saw and responded on Facebook but should have thought to share. It is so difficult to lose our children at any age. Strength to you both Carol and Bill and to his children , family and remaining brothers and their families.

Thank you all for you thoughts and prayers for us and the family. Dennis had been quite ill for over a year so his passing was not completely unexpected. In a way I am glad he is no longer suffering. He had heart and lung problems. A cough so bad he could hardly speak and no chance of improving. Even though we knew it would happen it is always a hard phone call to get and really hard for our youngest son to make. He and Dennis daughter are taking care of what needed to be taken care of. I just wish I'd called him last week. I though about it, but it was so hard for him to talk I was waiting for his birthday which is the 16th. I can't change that though...His daughter will sprinkle his ashes where he put his wife's. So they will be together again.
In a purely selfish thought, we no longer go to bed at night wondering if "the call" will come before morning. Our middle son died in an accident when he was 41 - so I think that call was even harder to get. I still remember it word for word and it 15 years ago.
On some good new side - yesterday we both got great results from the heart doctor - He told us to enjoy the summer and Mexico in the winter and come back to see him in the spring. So we are planning to get out of Vegas hopefully during the hottest part of the summer - have reservations for the month of August on the Oregon coast
Again thank you for caring.

Great news you both are healthy YAY. When you come to the Oregon coast be sure and let me know where you will be. Would love to meet up with you two. I feel like I already know you from online and I have read your book and followed your blog. Do you know where you will be staying on the coast? The weather will be awesome in August, no big heat like Vegas. (but I do like Vegas very much).

I love those areas, especially Astoria. Enjoy.
