The Heat Continues Wednesdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

The Heat Continues Wednesdsy

Morning all. Another day of pushing 90 degrees. Looks like one more and then a bit of a cool down. Dewpoints and humidity are supposed to start dropping on Friday. Enough already. Thankfully I have the portable AC/dehumidifier here. Came with the house. Right now I have my window wall and living room window open to let in the cool morning air. We are so dry here, need rain badly. There have been pop up showers and storms but no here :(

All the talk about tomatoes has me hungry for a good fresh vine ripe tomato. Have to hit the farmers market although it’s esrly in the season yet.

Barbie, the Ford Flex is a good van for camping as all the seats including the front passenger seat fold down. I had one and loved it. So versatile. A friend made a nice little camping van out of hers for overnight trips. Another van that I see a lot of people converting is those Transit vans.

Martha, hope the camping trip goes smoothly. Karen, I did have a great time. But glad I am not camping now, as way too hot. Don’t want to spend my time in an air conditioned trailer. Can do that at home. Too hot to even walk the pups. Fortunately this type of weather is not the norm here. We can get hot and humid but it comes and goes. Maybe a week or two and then back to normal. I think we had one 90 degree day all last summer.

Notsure what’s on today’s agenda. Thinking of taking a ride someplace. Maybe over the bridge into the UP for awhile. First, heading for the shower and will go from there. Have a great day all :)

And here we northern Californians are in 75-85 degrees for afewdays days! Feel for you where it's warmer!
We are off to see Dr shortly. X-ray results are back for son and we need to know how we can improve his knee pain. This is definately early for us. I despise having to be actually ready to go before 10! I spoil myself normally!
Mandy was restless last night so both of us had interrupted sleep. But, for a old lady, she's doing pretty well.
Sean, the handyman hasn't been here in a few days, having picked up a emergency job when someone had a pipe burst in their wall. Hope he gets back soon and finishes these big projects.
Have a good day everyone.

I'm sitting with a fan blowing on me. I decided to mow Sugar's yard at noon in 92 degree heat. I checked the oil in the mower and it looks like it could use a little. The chances of me finding the paperwork on the mower is slim to none so I looked on line. It uses 10W30. What did we do before the internet. lol

Velda, I wish I had a handyman for some projects around here. For a long time there was a sign at a house on the way to town advertising a handyman but you should see the house. He needs to fix his own house. I should ask the guy that has cattle here if he knows anyone. I want to tear down the walkway coming up to the back porch. I thought about having it rebuilt but I walk up the hill to the front and I could do that to the back. Would just have to have a load of dirt hauled in. I'm with you about 10:00 or earlier appointments. I don't like to have to set the alarm clock for anything.

I'm going to town to finish my shopping so I don't have to stop on my way out.

Good morning -

For someone who got up early, I haven't accomplished much. Desk chair came yesterday so at the desk finally. Turned on laptop and screen now has brownish tone - probably another thing to fix. Tried turning it off, unplugging, etc.

Martha, my Kansas aunt goes out in hot weather to mow and it worries me - she's in her 90s but she says she's fine. We are having cooler weather - for now. Velda, I never want to have to be somewhere early! I think after Sunday, I can go back to sleeping if I want. :) Got up at 8 this morning only because I set the alarm clock. Sue, wish I could ride over that bridge! Always thought I'd get back to the U.P. Beth, I opted for DVR on Frndly so pay more.

Reneged on my offer to make salads for the wedding lunch - Safeway deli is just down the street.

Have a good day!

Cool here at Heaton Bay campground near Frisco, CO, but I am at 9,200 feet in elevation, so have a little headache from lack of oxygen! Will be headed to Denver on Friday and staying there for several days to see my nephew. Beautiful here with tons of small pine trees around me and even taller mountains around here. This is a major ski area and is only a few miles from Breckenridge.

There is also a paved bike trail that goes almost around the Dillon Reservoir, and through both Frisco and nearby Silverthorne, but after my bad fall last December, I am a little worried about bike riding. I have a lot of work to finish in the next week before grades are due, but maybe will go out tomorrow. Will be nice to be done with my class and have more free time.

Barbie, one concern with your van is that you will have to lay down to get dressed in it. I used to own a Chrysler Town and Country, which is the same vehicle but more expensive, and I loved it. I worked at Ford in IT, though I wasn't really an IT person. The rule was we could wear jeans or very casual pants with even t-shirts if they did not have writing on them, as long as we were in the huge iT building. However, if I had to go to the Ford World Headquarters or another building for a meeting, I had to dress up a bit in business casual with slightly more dressy slacks and a sweater or similar, so I kept extra clothing in my truck, just in case I had an emergency meeting. Anyway, it was possible, but not easy to change clothes in the back!! Might want to consider a full-size van.

It's coming up on 1:30 pm and just hit 75°, so same temp inside and out. Glorious weather! Slight breeze every so often. I'll take it for sure, cuz know we will go back to 90's in few days.
Well, just when I thought I had earned a few days free time, having finished PT Monday, Chris saw Dr today and got ordered a month of PT for his knee, sigh! At least I got his scheduled for 1:30 so no early up trying to drag him out of bed! And he doesn't start until the 17th. Hope it gets him able to move again.
Judy, the Bill and Stacey's adventures channel, Bill is over 6 ft and dresses and sleeps in his Grand Caravan Dodge van!
Just got call from TENS provider that my PT ordered it and Dr signed off on it. So I should get doc u sign forms later today and once returned to Zynex, they will submit to Medicare then send my TENS. There are studies showing patients who use it are less likely to need RX pain meds ESP for back and neck pain. Mel used one, but his are very old, so I wanted new state of the art one my PT has been testing in their clinic for six months. She said patients who have gone on to get one, have said it really helps. Bionic pain control, here I come!

Bionic pain control sounds good, Velda. For those with 90 degree weather, it looks like I'll be seeing it next week. Not normal temps for here Right now just really windy. Because of the wind I'm not needing my ac today. And at least this mornings news shows the fire about 14 or 15% contained. I hope these winds don't stop this direction.

My exciting day has included grocery shopping and doing laundry. I just need to make the bed to have everything completed. Interestingly, after getting gas my gas gauge showed full as it should. I drove 2/10ths of a mile to the store and when I started the car again it showed under 3/4's. I knew the amount I got should have filled it but on the off chance it didn't, I drove back to the station and only added about a dollar. It still showed less than 3/4s full. Hmmm. Being electronic it also showed less miles than I should have left with a full tank. In the approximately 14 miles home, the gauge and the miles remaining slowly inches their way up to what both should say. I think my car has gremlins. lol

Anita and Martha, I can't handle the heat like I used to. I used to love summers, now not so much. 60's and 70's with an occasional low 80's are perfect. The low 80's needs a light breeze (or a ride in your Sling, Anita).

had my dd bring over 4-5 bins for me to use I used 4 today still have a drawer to bin up... my mom is very petite always has been and for some reason she thinks she needs a large in tops... has been in that mind set for years and years... instead of getting rid of clothes she just moved them into other closets.... 2 bins were from two drawers and 2 were filled with large sweat shirts one even extra large... I decided that I will need another drawer so will put one drawer in another bin...
by the time I was done with it I was too tired to hang up my clothes... so will do that tomorrow and will have someone take those bins downstairs... still need to go down and get clothes out of the dryer
so just did the laid back and relaxed this afternoon got so involved in the afternoon movie mom ask if I was really watching it as she wanted to watch news I said I was and had no idea who the culprit was so we watched it... but will have to try and not get involved in them so she can watch the news
got rid of one left over tonight on to better thing tomorrow bacon and french toast!!!!
have only two more months left on my 5th wheel exciting !!!!!
in actuality I could pay it off but oh well it would deplete me and don't want to do that don't know that it would save a whole lot but maybe I ought to just check
off to get cheese cake for us pj's on and clothes out of the dryer

It is almost 2am but will post anyways.

I took my Jeep in for an oil change today and the guy said when he drained it, there was only 1 1/2 quarts that came out! That's not good! He said he couldn't see a leak anywhere so I must be burning it. So glad I decided to get the oil changed! Could have been a disaster if it had gone down more and seized up my engine! I will have to check the level every month to make sure it is OK.

Velda, I got a cheap TENS machine awhile back but it only worked intermittently so wasn't very affective. One of my neighbors posted one on FB that is brand new and looks expensive and wants only $15 for it so I told him I want it.

Judy, I have looked for regular vans and there aren't many out there for sale other than cargo vans and I want something with windows. People are snatching up the conversion vans and Class B's now. Those might be more plentiful in a year or so after the Covid buyers decided they don't want them anymore.

I found a guy on NextDoor who does taxes for seniors for free and said he would help me figure out my questions on my taxes. I will contact him tomorrow.

It is windy tonight and cooler so I just opened up my bedroom windows to get a cross breeze. Feels pretty good! I heard it is supposed to get to 117* by Tuesday! Not sure I am ready for that!

My thoughts are with Carol (Ann) and Bill. :(

Need to get to bed....
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
