Anne, no danish but can whip up French toast with real maple syrup. Would love the company.

Good Morning!

French toast sounds good!!

A day to sleep in - nope, up at 5! Cloudy and cooler. Finally a day to stay home and it is a bit overwhelming - where to start! I didn't expect to be gone so much last week and the heat.

I unloaded the truck so all the stuff from the outside camper compartments are here in the living room! There is an outside closet on the patio, but the dirt from landscaping is so thick! Stopping in the office tomorrow because they haven't done a thing about lawn installation all week. Sewing cabinet (in a box) delivered and barely got it in the door - heavy. Monica and I went for our mani-pedi appointment - she talked me into wild turquoise toenails. A little too much green so will tone it down next time. Nearly fell asleep in the massage chair!

Another research person here - never thought about toothpaste and that aisle does make me crazy! My Kansas doctor was always quick to respond with MyChart. I sent a message about meds at 9 p.m. thinking she'd get it the next morning - nope, got an almost immediate response. Felt bad I had disturbed her. Sheila, your mom sounds like some of the elders in my family over the years - independent. I talked with my aunt this morning and she wonders if she'll ever get to go to town again by herself because my cousin has retired and time on his hands. :)

Must tackle this mess! :) Have a good day.

Good morning Shirl and all. French toast sounds good! Wonder why I don’t make it more often! It certainly isn’t hard, at least how I do it! Pure lazy, I suppose! Yesterday was a beautiful day and I got a bunch of things done outside. No bath for Lola but did get the windows hosed off and some of the dirt. I don’t think I’m going to be able to give her the bath she really needs before I leave. I looked at the weather for the area I’ll be camping next week and it’s looking like rain almost everyday. I’m not thrilled but will dig out the rain jackets for both Rascal and myself. Better pack a couple more books! Looks like I’ll be spending time watching the world go by from inside! Just my luck! These reservations were made months ago and I really want to go and enjoy myself for a few days. So will just make the best of it. Need to get busy and get some things done outside before the heat and humidity kicks in today. It’s going to be another beautiful day. Hope you all have a great day and remember to smile!

Okay you all are making me hungry. I am thinking French toast and bacon. Yup that should work. Now just need a cooking fairy to whip that up for me.

Cool this morning so had to kick my heat on for a bit. This week is supposed to be in the 70's after last weeks record breaking heat. Just wish we had some rain with it. Not sure what I will do today but I know a few housekeeping chores are in order.
Laundry for sure as I will change my sheets today so sheet and towel day. Think the kitchen and dining area need a good vacuum and then will Swiffer that floor. Won't take long so might run over to Home Depot and get some more compost and probably a few more flowers for the front.

My neighbors grandson came over last night to measure for the fence I am trying to find someone to install. He will send me a quote this week. BUT no install until middle of August. All the companies and workers around here are all backed up so guess I just have to wait.....for anything I might want done LOL Thank goodness most is done in the house. Need to paint but that will happen this winter.

Okay no fairy showed up so guess I have to cook my own breakfast......sigh.

Good morning. I think I'll forego french toast & make a quiche instead.

Woohoo on your decision to stop teaching, Judy! Isn't it amazing how all of a sudden we know it's time? Hope you enjoy having more freedom & less pressure.

Anita, the best thing I bought when I moved into my condo was a good folding hand truck. Great for getting those heavy items from the car and/or move heavy things around inside. I also get alot of use out of my stroller to tranport things from the car - of course, that doesn't make sense unless you have a kid that still rides in it.

I bought a vey small plastic pool for Jordi yesterday. He loves playing in the water & I hope this will be a nice way to make sure he goes home clean, fresh & worn out.

Going to pull DD's car out of the carport & clean up the interior while it's still cool outside.

Hope everyone who isn't feeling up to par feels better.
Take care,
Catherine

Shirl, French Toast with Maple Syrup sounds good but I have already had my oatmeal. I have had two cups of coffee and thinking about another. Your eating out with your brother makes me miss mine. He is a good cook so it would be even better to eat at his house but they won't let me in Canada. I wish they would come visit but his wife can't really travel very far. Hope you get your problems with the recliner resolved. Mine has become a catch all for the mail.

Yesterday there was a Day Lily Festival going on in town. They usually have the festivals in the town square but I figured it would have been cancelled because of the rain. I passed by there and there were signs saying that it had been moved to the county agents barn. I went by there but there were cars every where. I wasn't going to fight that crowd since the only thing I ever buy is food that I don't need.

I went to pick up Sugar. This time I was smart enough to not get caught in the traffic jam. When we got home she didn't want to get out of the car. Usually she is trying to climb over me to get out. I don't know what she is trying to tell me. She was so tired she slept all the way home. I am going to give her a bath this morning so will have to clean the bathroom after. Hope I don't have to drag her in there.

Cathrine I think I have analysis paralysis too. Every time I see something I think I want I research it to death. The reviews on a lot of things have saved me money. I have a list somewhere on my desk of things to order from Amazon and I can't tell you anything that is on the list. Good sign that I don't need it. Right now I am looking at houses for sale in Lafayette online. I have to keep reminding myself that the only reason to move is to be closer to my son, not to find a house I like. I am mostly just still aggravated about having to evacuate so many times last year from the hurricanes.

Barbie, good luck on finding the pants you want. It seems like now all the pants and jeans have skinny legs. Stinky was happy last night, I gave her some chicken. I had bought a rotisserie chicken to make dog treats. I try to give Sugar real food instead of the store dog treats. I took the bones and skin and boiled it to make broth for gumbo.

Anita, congratulations on selling your camper and truck so fast. Be careful getting out of the shower and not being able to reach the towel. My son fell getting out of a shower. I installed a grab bar beside the shower and use it for a towel rack.

I had made pudding shots for a campout one time and now my friend keeps sending me recipes for jello shots. I had a bottle of the Peach flavored Crown Royal so made jello shots with that. I was going to make more pudding shots but ran out of the little cups and Walmart was out. I might go see if the Dollar Store near me has them.

It hasn't rained yet today but there is rain all around. So far I have received 5 1/2 inches this round and there is rain predicted for the next 7 days.

I don’t usually eat breakfast, but all I can think of now is French toast! Sure sounds good.

Catherine, thank you! I have been meaning to research hand trucks all morning! My plan is to go into Wenatchee tomorrow, but will see what rain is going to do because several options to get hand truck or dolly. I have a large wire cart that came in handy during the move and will use it to get from garage (when it is finally available) to apartment with groceries, etc.

Martha, I hope I learned to hang the towel by the shower instead of hanging my pj's or clothes there!

I'll put out a platter of air fryer bacon and sausage to go with your quiche , French toast , Danish, etc.
Another warm northern Calfornia day ahead. Church starts in an hour via zoom. I'm glad they are still making zoom available even though half tne congregation is able to,attend each week, swapping weekly A-M last names and N-Z . I'm just not ready yet to join the weekly crowd.
Hopefully I wrap up PT on my neck this week. Although I'm sleeping slightly longer and have a little more mobility, it's not the miracle I'd hoped for pain wise. I look forward to getting back to my Bowen therapist. I'll be diligent on my mobility exercises from now on to hopefully maintain the gains.
I really need to get a vacuum cleaner. I've been waiting over a week for reply from the company that makes the heads for my central vacuum. My portable vacuum Mel bought, broke, not fixable ( is anything repairable ,anymore?) and the stick vac I ordered two weeks ago from Amazon, arrived defective so went back. I'm so tired of stepping in cat litter in one corner of my bathroom! My central vacuum is great but no rug head for it until I hear from company as to which is compatible with my unit.
I'd sure prefer to be camping somewhere.
Wish the eclipse was not at 04 in the morning this week.

Anita, this is the hand-truck I bought >> https://www.lowes.com/pd/Milwaukee-300-lb-2-Wheel-Red-Aluminum-Folding-Hand-Truck/4764889 It's worked very well for me. We've moved my son's office a couple of times with it & even ran over it (unknowingly, of course) -scratched it up a bit, but still does the job.

You have the best maple syrup out east. And now I want French toast! With crispy bacon. And your maple syrup. Yum.

I thought the fire must have died down this morning. Wrong. With the quiet winds and what little wind their was changing direction, it just wasn't obvious from here this morning. It's grown and as of a couple hours ago 0 contained. And now the winds are back. Fingers crossed they get a handle on it. It's smack dab in the middle of the forest I intended to boondock this week. I doubt that'll happen this summer!

I was supposed to clean some railings on the buildings today after rooms. I asked if I could try kicking myself out of bed early tomorrow and doing that before rooms, while the heat hasn't built up yet. Luckily they said yes. If I don't get their early, I'll have no excuses tomorrow afternoon but to do the job.

I need to remember my days. Decided I'd run into Panguitch and get a few things today. Luckily I remembered it's Sunday and the grocery store is closed before I made the drive. Nothing important. Karen I should have stripped my bed and done laundry when I realized that. But no, that would have made sense.

Really a typical Sunday day for me...
my #3 dd is working in the office tomorrow so came in time for supper and will send the night
made this recipe that sounded and looked good... from stay at home chef.com called creamy pesto chicken pasta
was good but I goofed in that used two much broth it's a one pan dish cook chicken had broth and pasta Penna recommended then when the pasta is done you add pesto cream and parm.... the sauce was not as thick as I expected... think it was because I used more broth than needed... but it was good
Anita if you used jell fingernail polish it should be good till long after the wedding... that stuff lasts forever
Martha even if you are moving to be closer to your son you need to like the house be comfortable in it and what would you do with all the outside cats?
I don't know the route you are taking or what you plan on doing in Co Judy but if going to Rocky Mountain Nation Park get a reservation not only for camping but to enter the park read a thing about it the other day and how many people are being turned away because they don't have a reservation... I sure hope GTNP and Yellowstone don't do that... yes it can be a pain in the tush and you may have to go slow but it is so worth it...
close to time to join in on Chat need to figure out how to get mom on it... one day need to find a computer to hook up to her monitor.
you all have a good day

Sheila, I don't think there is much of a chance of me ever moving. I'm just aggravated with the hurricanes. Now there is an area in the Southern gulf that could develop in the next week to 10 days.

The only thing I accomplished today was to put water in the golf cart batteries. It wasn't before they needed it. It took all but about a cup of a gallon of distilled water.
