These will be my last watercolor for a while because I’m going to try some rehab on an art project I did quite a few years ago in a completely different genre. I just need to wait until Monday to receive an Amazon delivery to get started. If I’m successful, I’ll post the results.

I guess I sort of lied yesterday. I was going to read today while waiting to start my rehab project tomorrow on a previous art project when I decided I wanted to paint the California State flower - the “golden poppy.” So, here it is. I’ll read tonight.

This painting was created in memory of my favorite banty chicken Lancelot and was done from a photo. Oh could he strut his stuff! I grew up on a ranch in the hills above what is now Silicon Valley. Among other livestock, I had a horse; 3 Australian shepherds; raised laying hens for 4H, selling a dozen eggs for 50 cents, and delivering them on my horse to faraway neighbors; and a flock of banties that included Lancelot’s wife, Guinevere. I sure wish I could go back in time to those days.

What a great way to honor Lancelot. And to remember those times. Love this.
