Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, Didn’t get T-storm predicted last night and sunny this morning. Furniture repairman just left and the recliner is much better. He made adjustments to safety feature that allows the chair to recline easier. Our life is made more difficult by safety features for people with no common sense. Yay! Barbie, always glad to hear good news. Nothing special planned for today. Be safe.

Good morning, Shirl & all who follow,

I really love May gray & June gloom out here. Mornings are delightfully overcast with fog or cloud cover keeping us cool before the sun burns through it all. Definitely my favorite time of day.

Barbie, so glad you got a new job! Hope it turns out to be a nicer environment for you.
By the way, I googled split HVAC systems. It does sound like they are more cost-effective & require less maintenance in the long run, but I doubt our HOA would allow them. I'm just glad to get my 1970 unit replaced for now.
So good seeing Lyn's post.
Good news on your covid vaccination tests, Judy.
Beth, nice to hear you found a little hide-a-way where you can go when you want to.

I didn't get anything done on my bedroom yesterday. Instead I re-connected with a couple of friends in KS via phone & text. I hate how much time had passed since we last talked. Will meet up with them when I go back to KS in October for a wedding. I'm going to like my retirement from grandma duties come January. :D Also cleaned & waxed my daughter's car (she left it here in case she returns from France sooner than expected). I used that Wash/Wax stuff that Sandi recommended for our RVs years ago. Wow! that stuff works beautifully - that 22-year old car now shines almost like new.

Off for a good long walk before the sun burns off the 'gloom'.
Take care & enjoy the day.

Good morning. Another hot day predicted here but do have some cooling in our near future this weekend. Have a few errands to do today. Need some more dirt so will bop over to Home Depot. Then have to take my old Modem back to Spectrum. They upgraded us to 200Mbps (YAY) but the 100Mbps worked just dandy for me but I will take a free upgrade any day. Also need to take my mountain of cardboard over to the cardboard dumpster. Will vacuum when I get home as Emma is starting to blow her undercoat and I like to stay on top of that issue before I am buried in hair LOL Then will just have a leisurely afternoon as it is too hot to work outside at all.

YAY Barbie on the taxes, as that is usually a chunk of cash you dont need to part with twice. Sheila hope things settle down at your Mom's and you two can get on some sort of routine that works for both of you. Beth sounds like you are enjoying your new area and job. It is fun to do something different for sure.

Time to get off the computer and get moving so I can beat the heat.

Would like to know the name of the product. My little car needs a shine-up. :D

Here you go Anne. I used Wash/Wax All on my RV and now on my car - https://washwax.com/. This stuff was originally made for the airline industry. After 7 1/2 years, 58,000 miles and being in the sun 24/7, when I sold my RV the paint job looked as good as the day I bought it.

I decided to try to beat the rain so loaded up the mower and went to Maurice. I had to mow it twice, high and low, but got it done. It only sprinkled on me a couple of times. While I was gone it stormed at home and rained an inch and 1/4. I need to take the truck to the shop. It drives fine and then it will feel like something is wrong with the front end. They usually can't fine something that isn't constant.

The CPA office had left a message that my tax papers were ready so back to town. Picked up my papers and got 2 bags of cat food for the outside cats. The bottom fell out in town. It was raining so hard it was hard to see but quit before I got home. Hope we don't get the rain we got two weeks ago.

I need to try the Wash/Wax All on my motorhome. I keep buying different washes and I'm not crazy about any I have tried. I use to use a wash and wax that was made by one of the companies that makes RV stuff but I don't see it anymore.

I don't like to wear a hat but need to find one to wear when I mow. My face is still hot. I should wear a sleeveless shirt to mow in so my arms will tan. I have a farmer's tan. lol

I’ve realized I haven’t noticed that Alice (avalen) has posted for awhile. Has she posted recently? Has anyone heard from her?

Long day today! My first day at work was hit with a ton of information, filling out forms, watching videos, etc. They really are strict on sanitation (good thing) and time tracking for services, etc. It will be a lot to learn and remember. The manager went thru the whole process of checking in thru checking out role playing, with me being the client. The massage during the shampoo (pretend wash) was very nice with the reclining, massaging chair I was sitting in! Then got a real shoulder massage after the pretend haircut. They use a large massaging wand and it is really powerful! That could work well on my shoulder if I could use that every day! Luckily, my shift was over before I had to be the "stylist"!

From there I stopped for lunch and then went for my PT appointment. I went thru the assessment first. She said I lost some strength and range of motion on some areas from the last time I was there but not a lot. Then went thru some new strengthening exercises before leaving. I noticed my shoulder has been more stiff and sore since I did all the work around here the other day. Guess I overdid it. When I clean, it is all or nothing!

Tonight, I took a short nap when I got home and then went on-line to take a couple sanitizing/disinfecting courses and got a certificate for each one for work. Need to go over my notes I took today before I go to bed. Back to work tomorrow from 10-2.

Unfortunately, I was wrong about the property tax bill. After looking on-line I realized I did make a payment in December but didn't make the one for April of this year. So I still owe that. The bill is very confusing tho. It says December on it but is in fact, for April. :( I need to reorganize my bill-paying process.

Ava hasn't been on here for a long time. I wish she would post once in awhile. Not sure what she is up to now. Anyone know?

Ava reads... She was on the forum on May 28, this year. Maybe she'll read this and post.
