Warm Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warm Wednesday

Postby JudyJB » Wed Jun 02, 2021 4:11 pm

I am about 80 miles southeast of Provo, UT, and going to stay here for two days to rest up and do some laundry.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I know for sure that the cats are vaccinated, but I think my son and DIL are really dumb for ignoring this fox. They might change their minds if it comes inside!

Just got my test results to make sure the COVID vaccines worked for me. Good new is that I did have reaction, but could have been a bit stronger. This test tested B cells, but there is also some immunity provided by T-cells, and unfortunately no way to test for those. In any case, they are not affected by any of my treatment two years ago, so that is good.

Got home a little while ago from my technical interview (ie haircut). I wasn't even finished with the cut yet and she told me it looked awesome! She was really wanting to see how I do fades (very short to longer on the sides and back) and blend the layers. That is something a lot of stylists have trouble with. I got good at those while working close to Camp Pendleton doing military cuts. After the cut, we went back in the office to talk. She said my technical skills are amazing! That really made me feel good! :D She is also glad I am so flexible with my availablilty, for scheduling. She has another technical interview later today and said she will let me know either this evening or tomorrow by noon. I would start training on Friday.

They welcome and encourage client requests, unlike Great Clips who really discourages it (makes no sense!), and they have vacuum hoses at each station so I won't have to worry about heavy brooms! It will certainly be a different atmosphere with the TV's going with the sports channel on all day. This shop is in an area that is heavy with up-scale golf and hotel resorts and hi-end golf communities, so tips are probably really good there. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Stopped at WM on the way home and picked up a couple things including two $5 black t-shirts for work (won't pull the tags until I know for sure I got hired). They provide shirts but I would need a couple to wear until I got theirs.

It is very hot out again today. Summer is here! There is a small gazebo on the green belt behind my house. They are now getting ready to plant flowers around it, so that will look really nice and add some color out there. I wish they would put a water feature out there too. Would be nice to listen to running water. Some of the other green belts have one. The flowers will be a nice addition tho.

Lola wants to be out on the porch now all day long even in the heat! Silly cat! I need to put a bowl of water out there for her. I want to put in a makeshift cat door in the slider track. I keep the slider open about 4 inches just enough for her to get thru, and I pull the curtains over to cover the open area to keep the cool air in and the hot air out (at least a little). I am gonna try to make a long skinny clear plastic piece framed with PVC pipe to put in there instead, with a plastic "flap" for her to go thru at the bottom. The ones you can buy at the stores are over $100! I can do something much cheaper that should be pretty efficient. My dad made one once out of plywood that worked pretty well, with a real cat door in it, but I want something see-through and not so heavy.

Got another 3 drawer bin for my gourd stuff. It is a little bigger for some of the bigger items. I also want to keep all the stuff together for each different type of painting technique. Alcohol ink requires different supplies than acrylic paints. Wood burning has different products and equipment. Then different embellishments, brushes, etc.

I need to get busy with something here since it is not even 3pm here yet. I need to look into the tax bill too.

Barbie, isn't black a bad color for pants and shirts at a hair salon?? I wondered about that yesterday when you mentioned black pants. Seems like that color will really show the hair!

Yippy!!! :D :D :D I just got the call that I am hired!!! I start tomorrow morning for training! Yay!!

Yes, Judy, black does show hair but not as bad as white or light colors. I guess I need to go shopping (JC Penney) for some black pants. I try to wear clothes that are half cotton, half poly so the hair doesn't stick to it so much. It feels like little pins sticking your skin thru the clothes!

Black and red are their colors there. I personally hate black, especially when I had to buy an all black wardrobe for work at a couple of the GC's I worked at. At least here, I wear their shirts instead. Makes it much easier.

Yay, congratulations, Barbie! I hope this turns out to be just what you need. Hopefully with good tips!

I took a ride through some pretty countryside today. Even found some forest roads I could take the rv and disappear on overnight occasionally.

Stopped at the post office for a delivery there for me. I bought a Roku. It was easy easier to set up than the first time I tried something similar some years back. I'm using the parks wifi and occasionally it slows down, but not bad. I've got both programs I use to watch on my phones programmed and working. I'm not used to the big screen lol. If it throttles too much I'll switch to using my phones connection. It never throttles.

Judy, hopefully the fox decides to head elsewhere.

More good news! I checked and discovered I did in fact pay my tax bill in December! Yay! I sent them an e-mail asking how to resolve the delinquency issue on their end.

Whew! That had me really worried!

Barbie, so happy for you. Hope it works out like you want. Some of my house cats have started staying out a lot. Pinky stayed out all night. That was a first. She is so fat she won't come up the steps and has learned to use the ramp. If I stand at the door long enough she will waddle her fat self up the ramp. Her sister Stinky comes and goes all day. Possie started staying out and I can't get her to come in at all. She was the one that always wanted to share what ever I was eating. My son thinks they have cat alzheimers. I'll see if they want to stay out when it get to be 100 this summer. Rascal, the cat that had the bot as a kitten, likes the air conditioning. He likes to come in and take a nap and go back out.

Judy, I would be worried about the fox too. I have never heard anyone say that they have seen a fox around here. I'm surprised we don't have more coyotes. Glad your COVID vaccines worked for your. I wish I could have given blood because they check for COVID antibodies or what ever they are called. I need to do a better job of taking my vitamins.

I checked my reservation for the upcoming campout and my reservation starts Wednesday instead of Thursday like I thought. My son wants me to bring Sugar for a one night sleepover to see how it goes before I leave her for a few days. I will bring her Friday and pick her up Saturday. He has a dog and they get along ok. Sugar doesn't really like to play with another dog.

We are suppose to get a lot of rain tomorrow and for the next week. Hope I don't get another 10 inches.

So happy Barb, To hear your good news!
Was only 96 today, but we had to be out in it. Son had dermatology appointment then we took advantage of being close to radiology and has his knee X-rays done that Dr ordered a while back. Rest of day was quiet. Hope nothing torn in his knees and PT can get him walking better with less pain.
