Rainy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Friday

Postby Othersharon » Fri May 28, 2021 9:34 am

Good morning all. No rain yet but supposed to move in early afternoon and the temps are way down from what we were having. I guess I’ll just have to get some housework done, no excuses! I took Rascal to a doggie chiropractor yesterday and we discussed his weakness in his hind legs and she did a good adjustment on him. I think he actually was doing a bit better afterwards. Another visit scheduled for next week. One thing she did mention several times is that he isn’t displaying any pain so that was encouraging. She also showed me some exercises to do with him and encouraged more walking. I know I should walk him more but I’ve been lazy on that one. To easy to let him have the yard to go in and out whenever he wants. And since he’s an only dog he doesn’t play like he used to. So I’ll just have to work on that one, good for both of us!
Exiting news, Anita, that you are able to finally move into your apartment! And Sandi, I love your paintings. I was looking through them all again but can’t decide which one I favor! They’re all beautiful. Barbie, sorry that you didn’t get anywhere with the owner but good you have options. Their loss.
Well, I suppose I should get busy and accomplish something this morning! Hope you all have a great weekend. I plan on sticking close to home the next few days. Still not real comfortable being out among other people that I don’t know.

Good morning!

It is an exciting day, Sharon! I just finished loading the van - who knew how much stuff I had in here. Still last minute things but think I can get almost son-in-law to haul all that in Hummer next week. As it turns out, Alan loaded all the stuff at their house in the Hummer so I didn't have to mess with that. He's a pretty good guy. He'll help at the apartment and Monica has a couple hours between jobs so she'll come by. First thing I'm going to do is start the washing machine! Guess I threw out too many shirts. :D

Beth, surprisingly they deliver furniture Monday - the only day of the week they come to Leavenworth. I had expected to wait until the following week. Queen cabinet bed and sewing cabinet have been ordered.

Have a good day!

Off to a warming weekend, pretty typical for Memorial Day weekend here! Monday possibly 108! Then back into mid 90's. Just hope people are careful and no fire starts.
Anita, excited to hear of your new adventure!
Barbara, wishing you happier times with new job. I have a sneaking suspicion one reason they might keep that awful guy at the old place, but won't say it out loud! You deserve better working conditions, for sure.
Wish we were getting rain!
Anne, I'm so glad Joe is back to healthy play with lesions gone.
I will head to Curves in a bit, then maybe a quick trip to Costco for my few always buy items and top off fuel in car as cost goes up day by day! Dollar cost averaging to save, and all that being in play!
My Chris requested hot dogs for the weekend, so hot dogs it is! Wish my BBQ was working! Sean, the handyman hasn't gotten to that yet!
I will not face the predicted awful weekend traffic to visit the cemetery as its a 40 min drive through heavy interstate traffic, but we will go soon. I know Mel is in good company among his fellow veterans!
Have a pleasant weekend everyone!

Morning All, rain predicted this afternoon and into tomorrow. Not a nice weekend weather wise but it never deters beach goers. Traffic backups have become a live or death situation for locals living on the shore. Emergency vehicles can not travel the clogged back roads. This weekend the police will block off ramps from the hwy. Not sure how that will affect the locals. Anita, happy day. Seems a long time coming. Nothing planned will just hang out at home. Count your blessings and remember those who made it possible. Be safe

There are scattered showers along the coast and it has rained here several times. I wish my friends at the beach would post some pictures.

I thought about going to get a fried fish dinner but decided to eat a Marie Callender Shrimp Scampi frozen dinner. I hope I remember to never buy that again. It wasn't very good. That is something that is so easy to make if I have frozen shrimp but I'm so lazy.

Anita, I know you are excited to finally get in your apartment. I keep looking on line at houses and condo's in Lafayette. I would sure like to have a place to evacuate to beside my son's house. I'm afraid some time in the future I will have to give up the country life. There is just so much to take care of.

Good afternoon. I have tomorrow off. Both places near each other about an hour away are open tomorrow. But it's a holiday weekend and I know they'll be packed. So I'll await another opportunity. I'm guessing the traffic would drive me as nuts as what you're seeing, Shirl.

I don't buy many frozen meals, Martha, but that would have caught my eye. Thanks for letting me know it's not worth it. Like you, I can make my own but can't remember the last time I did v :o

Chris asked for very easy with hot dogs. I haven't had one in a long time. I'll be over lol

Anita, I guess I shouldn't be surprised as most stores are open on this holiday, but I still am. That said, I love the pictures I saw and look forward to seeing the place with furniture, etc. It's an exciting new beginning.

Sharon, I hope Rascal continues improving!

Anita, I know how exciting this is for you. I was very excited to furnish and decorate my new house with new stuff, Now I know our situations are different but exciting no less. I think my house is basically done inside except I do want to paint this winter and maybe the 2 walk in showers we shall see. I am a gal on a budget so some things just have to wait awhile. Your place looks great so far. Will be fun to see what you do to make it your "home".

I came up to Laura's on Thursday to avoid the traffic rush. And will be leaving on Sunday for the same reasons LOL I havent been up here for a while so was fun to see all Laura has done to her house also. We have a couple of projects I will help her with today after we hit Home Depot. She is busy with projects inside and out so guess I will have to come up again to see her progress. Always fun when we get together whether we are busy or just chillin'.
