Tuesday May 25

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, cloudy and 57° guess I put the snuggies away too soon. The new iPad is up and running with out trouble. Wish the recliner was operating as smoothly. Seems you have to tune up the the recliner to your specific needs. YouTube shows you how as long as you are able to flip the chair over and adjust the many nuts and bolts underneath. I paid to have the recliner delivered and set up. Guess that means set on your living room floor. No return contact from furniture store regarding the problem. What good is a recliner if you are not strong enough to recline the $&#*% chair. Thanks to YouTube I understand how to fix the problem but thanks to back spams I’m afraid to try. Guess I will call my son. Be safe

Morning Shirl. That is a shame about the recliner. I opted not to have a motorized one due to the fact just one more thing to go wrong. I have several friends that have had zero trouble and others lots of trouble. As long as I still have the strength to recline think I am good with the manual ones.

Cloudy and cool this morning but up to 55° with a high of 65° predicted. I love it, perfect weather for finishing up my drip system. It got hot yesterday afternoon when the sun came out after about 15 minutes of downpour. They blue sky and puffy white clouds decended upon me so I gave up for the day. Today will finish up the drip system and spread a few more bags of mulch then should be good for a while.

The lightning app on my phone kept going off last night. There were thunderstorms about 30 miles away but never came my way. However, my dog can detect them and is deathly afraid so she hunkered in the guest room under the bed. Wouldn't come to bed with me but was there this morning. She is still skulking around the house very warily. What a wuss. Not sure how she knows but she does.

Getting housekeeping chores done today and tomorrow as I am heading up north this weekend to visit my BFF Laura. Will celebrate Memorial Day and her Birthday all in one weekend. Will leave Thursday after lunch and come home Sunday. I want to avoid the holiday traffic on Monday. Only about 2 1/2 hours to her place. Just a nice drive.

Time for some breakfast then need to get busy. Will wait for a shower until I am done with my chores. I am usually not that smart but today I am LOL

Good Morning, It is a bit cooler here too this morning and I am grateful! Forecast is for rain this week and we really need it. Shirl sorry about your chair, how very strange they would put the adjustment underneath! I hope your son can figure it out for you but the store should be responsible.

I had a grooming appointment for Mitzi and Toby this morning but Mitzi had to go alone. I was up 3 times during the night letting Toby out so I didn't think the little pooper would be welcome! I suspect that DH shared his BBQed chicken with the dogs and it didn't agree with him. I feel like I should pay the groomer for him because I cancelled last minute. I hope Mitzi does ok, I was having a mobile groomer come to the house for her but Mitzi totally freaked at the noise her dryer made in that small of a space. The groomer didn't mention it but finally Mitzi went so crazy when she came the last time I cancelled her appointments and the lady finally told me she drier really frightened her. I wish she had told me that before poor Mitzi was so traumatized.

I walked out back with the dogs last night around ten, the moon was so beautiful and the honeysuckle smelled amazing. Early mornings and late night it smells so much stronger than during the day, probably because it is pretty much out of control in the back.

Enjoy your trip Karen. Dogs have super powers when it comes to certain things like storms, baths etc!!

Karen, recliner is manual, use side lever to raise foot rest slightly then push on arms to recline. It is so tight I have to push with hands and feet. Who needs that. There are two wing nuts underneath the chair that will loosen the recliner. I think wingnuts designed the recliner. :D

Shirl, I think wing nuts have designed a lot of things. I still have Harold's recliner that is electric. The store where we bought it closed and the first time it stopped working they wanted us to load that heavy thing and bring it 60 miles to another store. I went on line for the brand of recliner, figured out what was wrong and ordered the parts. It has a battery back up to get you out of the chair if the electricity goes out and that has gone out again. The only one that sits in it is my sister and we will just have to hope the electricity doesn't go out when she is here. The same thing with the adjustable beds. The ones we had before the flood they would send someone to work on them. Not any more. When one went out I had to order the part and fix it myself.

BJ, we use to have a lot of Honeysuckle around here but I don't see any now. Maybe the floods killed it.

I am still waiting on the bank to call. As soon as I forget and walk away from my phone they will probably call. I wish they would call so I would know if I have to go to Lafayette. I need to mow but I couldn't hear the phone on the mower. Seems like I am always waiting on someone.

Shirl I never knew they had adjustments LOL i thought you had the electric kind. I will look under one of mine just to see if they have that wingnut too. Mine seem easy I dont have to push on the arms I just lean back once I pull the lever on the side of course. I have 3 recliners and they all work pretty easily. Well actually I have 7 LOL family room has 2. Living room has 1, but the loveseat both sides recline, and the couch both ends recline so not really recliner per se ha ha

I have 6 recliners (mine, Mel's, my sons, plus one we removed from our bus and two really old recliners, one my Dads and a old one of mine, all of which still work. Never had to adjust any of them . All but one are Lazy Boy. Sounds like you need to bug the store that sold yours Shirl. Things just aren't made the way they used to be!
Looks like this entire week will be in high 80's to low 90's. I'm ok with that, sure better than triple digits!
I have PT this afternoon, but hope I can motivate myself to do other stuff first.
I'm with Anne that I don't want to be in a forest with these dry conditions. But I hope to go camping somewhere, even if only overnight, at least once this summer.

Shirl, that would tick me off! Martha, I have no patience waiting for people to call.

One of our first trips with the motorhome was to a campground owned by the Teamsters Union outside of Tacoma. It was Anderson Island and as we crossed the bridge onto the island, there was a burn ban sign. :o I said that was a little worrisome on an island. Apparently the caretakers didn't get the word and decided to burn brush - no campers threatened before they got it under control. How fun to sit and watch a helicopter fill his bucket with water from the bay and then dump it on the fire! Think they probably got a pretty hefty fine.

The Thousand Trails park in Leavenworth is a far bit from town and up the hill. Full of trees so I would never stay there in the summer - actually met people who evacuated from there 2 years ago due to fire. We've already had one fire nearby and they are hunting a man they think started one near the highway this morning.

Cloudy, 70 with possible rain. Wind hasn't kicked in - yet.

Anita, camping with a show. lol Since we seldom have fires I am more worried about flooding. The campground I'm going to in June has two areas, upland and low land. Guess what the low land does. Our flooding here mostly comes from local rain so we know it's coming. After last week's rain 3 state parks closed and I think one is probably still closed.

I finally heard from the bank and I need a judgement of possession which the lawyer hasn't sent me. I have to go pick that up in the morning and bring it to the bank.

I got most of the yard mowed. I only mowed where I was pretty sure I wouldn't get the mower stuck. I had on black jeans. Not a good idea when the sun is bright. It was very nice when a cloud would blow over.

Dogs are sure smart when they want to be. I usually wear tennis shoes when I walk the dog. I put on my tennis shoes to go mow and she was ready to go. Otherwise she doesn't move. She was disappointed. If it wasn't 90 outside I would walk her but she will have to wait a while.

Martha, yep, dogs are smart and play dumb when they want, too. Shirl, the used recliner I purchased can be hard to get back into sitting position. I'm going to have to remember and check if it has the adjustments (I never knew they had adjustments, either) underneath next time I'm back to the casita. It seemed a little easier this past winter, but maybe my legs were just getting stronger fighting it lol. While I was typing this you posted that furniture repair will be coming, Shirl... Good news.

A couple days ago Ty started limping. Usually when his patella (kneecap) goes out I've seen it happen. This time, I'm thinking he must have landed bad jumping down from the bed that morning, because he was fine at night, and not when I got up. It hasn't happened for probably over a year which is a good thing, as if it happens too much it will lead to surgery. Last night I started looking for vets and decided I'd be calling to take him to whoever could see him tomorrow while I'm off. I know it doesn't hurt him supposedly at this stage, but it's never lasted long before he or I manage to get it back in. So I was thrilled when I got up this morning and he's using that leg like nothing ever happened. Now I'm hoping we go another year or more before it does it again.

While I was typing this one of the workampers in the rv park came by and gave me a container of fresh strawberry ice cream she just made. Yum. No one's going to believe me but I've been so good and haven't had any ice cream since I got here. That just changed!

Lark and I made it five plus hours before I stopped at a Red Roof east of Knoxville for the night. Lark doesn't have much experience at this motel thing but she is behaving like a pro. We have only another 200 miles to make it to daughter's driveway in Charlotte, NC. The RoadTrek wasn't ready to go so we get to stay in her art studio on an air mattress but Lark will still get to play with the grand dogs. The old Honda Fit just trucked down the interstate sipping on the gas. I was too tired to unload the dog show equipment from the van. We managed without the Sirius Radio, et. al...... Books on tape worked just fine. Lark and I travel a lot lighter than a show dog.....

Beth, turn your recliner on it’s side and put something under it. Then
Spray all of the things like hinges that move with WD 40. Need to leave something under it so it does not drip. Overnight maybe????

That is what I was told to do with mine when it kept getting hard to open or close. It worked
