Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, feels like summer on the shore, very warm temperatures. No special plans for the day. Planted sugar snap peas yesterday in raised bed and in the balcony garden. As I was going to sleep last night realized I didn’t read up on the plant. I might have planted a monster. I’m getting apprehensive about the tomato plant that is growing really tall. Took my first trip to the Safeway store in over a year. Made shrimp salad with their steamed shrimp, a real treat. Today and tomorrow are heavy traffic days so will stick close to home. Be safe

Mornin' Shirl and ask that follow~~~

Oohhhh! Shrimp sounds good! One of the few things I eat that comes out of water, although Martha & Carolyn did get me to try a bite off gator. :P Doubt I'd order that on my own lol

The last few days have been running back and forth to dad's. Getting tired of driving I-57. He couldn't find his trust, will, POAs, etc. I talked to his lawyer and it cannot be redone (its non-revocable), which would mean everything would have to go thru probate. He is so private with things and wouldn't let me go thru paperwork, so he was in his own. We had even gone to his bank to check the safe deposit box. Called me in the evening and said he still couldn't find it. Dawned in me to ask if he had a fire proof box. Yep. Bought one last year. Called me back and they were in there! Thank God!! He's a stubborn Irishman. At least he lets me know where things are and I have access to his safe deposit. He's also let me read the trust and will so I really don't know what he's so secretive about.

Today is laundry day and catching up on chores. At least I'm not doing I-57 today. ;)

That's it from my neck of the corn fields. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning gals!

Cheryl, doesn't his lawyer have copies of all that stuff? Maybe you should get copies of it all. Someone should have copies.

I woke up just after 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. My mind keeps racing about all this work stuff.

Lola has been very affectionate this morning. That usually means she wants food. I finally got up and checked her dish. OMG!! There were only 18 pieces of kibble in her dish! No wonder she is starving to death!
I filled up the dish and she is still being very affectionate so not sure what is wrong with her. Maybe she can feel how stressed out I am, not that that has ever mattered to her in the past. Maybe it is just part of her getting older and sweeter. Too bad that isn't happening to me in my old age!

I had one of my bedroom windows open all night. Even tho the breeze is quite chilly, it feels so good after the heat we have had and I know nights like this are very rare this time of year so I am pulling the blanket up over me and enjoying it! Still quite breezy out but not terrible like the past few days. Just refreshing!

Have a good day! :D

Good afternoon all. I’m really dragging today. We had a planned power outage that happened about 12:30 last night and no matter how I tried to prepare for it Rascal was super upset by it. He paced a good part of the night and I couldn’t sleep much just being concerned for him. Power finally came on about 5:30 and we both got a bit of sleep. But it was a rough night. I should have gone camping in the backyard! I thought about it but he’s been resistant to the steps I have for him. I’m not sure what the problem is but I’m trying to work with him to get him used to using them. It may make or break my camping this summer. I’ve never kenneled him and at his age I’m not willing to do that.
Barbie, sorry for the trouble you’re having at work but hang in there. As you said you have options. Sounds like the guy should have been let go awhile ago. Just my opinion. Are you gals down south getting through the nasty weather okay? Beth, the wind sure doesn’t sound good! Hope it’s quieter today for you. Between the excessive rain and droughts the weather has been so crazy. This heat we’re having isn’t “normal” for us so it’ll be interesting to see what happens in June. Shirl, your garden sounds like a fun way to use your outside space!
I had a do nothing day yesterday. I went through some clothes trying to find some summer pants that’ll fit. Brands sure make a difference in sizing! I really don’t want to have to go shopping for new stuff! I did manage to get a couple of pairs of jeans the other day so I think that’ll be the extent of that! So today I really need to get out and work in the yard some more! Grass could use a mowing again but think I’ll wait on that until much later today when the yard is more shaded. I have plenty of puttering I can do in the meantime outside. Hope you all stay safe and have a great weekend.

Sunny and really warm here today, too warm for my liking but then I wasn't in on the decision making! I think you will be happy you planted sugar snap peas Shirl, I like them best raw. One of my little dogs particularly loved them. I bought some at the farmers market this morning and was happy to also find organic spring mix and spinach. We are so lucky to live where there are so many farmers nearby and to have all the markets. Several are able to grow all winter and they sell online and you pick up at designated places. Winter carrots are one of my favorites and are much sweeter that the ones you get in summer.

Cheryl you made me realize I should tell our executor where our paperwork is. I also need to contact the person who said we can have free burial spaces at a little country church where a majority of my Dad's relatives are buried, and get some type of paperwork. The church has been closed for many years but the cemetery is well maintained and it is in a beautiful setting with several big Cedar trees. We used to go to church there every Christmas Eve with relatives when I was small. It is about 1 1/2 miles down the road from where I currently live. I had no idea until I discovered Ancestry .com that both sides of my family were some of the first to settle in this this county and the one where I was born. I am related to everyone!!

I'm still fighting the pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have an appointment finally... with a neurologist here in June and another virtual appt in July with one in St Louis. There is a long wait to see a Neurologist. There are several anti seizure medications they try but the side effects are so bad I'm trying other methods like B12. The other issue is the anti seizure drugs need to be monitored as they deplete sodium and mine is already low. My current doctor just handed me a prescription and said he didn't know what to do, no mention of monitoring....I tried 1/2 of a dose of one of the drugs for three days and was unable to stay awake. I'm getting really tired of drinking all my food.

Sharon, why was Rascal upset about the power outage, especially at night? Is he used to having lights on at night or was it too quiet? Maybe you could get some battery-operated lights.

My knee is sore again this morning. I have a heating pad on it for now. I can't find my knee brace so I will have to buy another one. I did find my box of braces I have for all different joints but it wasn't in there. Usually wearing one overnight helps a lot.

Am hoping I hear from my old/new manager about my hours this week at the WM shop. I need to get back to work. Not getting a paycheck isn't good. Need some moola get pay my bills!

Morning everyone! It's 72, sunny with a little breeze here after the few drops of rain yesterday evening. Had son to chiropractor this morning. My neck is flared up causing the usual left side headache, so I'm going to see if I cab take a short nap.
Sugar snap peas sound tasty, but it's quickly too hot for growing them here.
My cousin wrote yesterday and mentioned trying to find a few days we could meet with our RVs to camp thus summer. He's from the other end of California and I haven't seen him since he was here helping when Mel died. Camping and fishing would be fun.
Barbara I sure hope you are able to resolve the work situation as stress is no fun. Funny how cats change as they age, as we humans do too. My Mandy is more verbal and often insists on laying high on my chest anytime I'm not standing and cries this hurt sounding pitiful cry if I don't let her. she makes me feel guilty with one long meow if I don't let her up on my chest.
Have a good day.

Good afternoon - A fun call with my brother this morning about him signing off on my vehicle titles so I can sell them. He asked me why I thought he would even consider doing that. Funny guy. He's the one that went crazy and told me he had a psychiatric bed reserved for me when I bought the Sling.

Working on teaser FB ad for camper - now trying to decide on price. Had it figured out and then did NADA plus look at what others are listing. Yikes. Used the portable washer for the last time yesterday! Grateful to have had it. More packing. We've been having wind and rain for a few days - it can be finished soon! Probably won't care once I move.

Barbie, it only takes one co-worker to ruin a job - I had my time with them. Shirl, I don't grow my own greens, but I find I'm a bit tired of salads already. Not liking the storm predictions in the Southeast.

Back to whatever I need to do next. Have a good day!

I decided to go to the Meetup brunch in Lafayette this morning. I had to set my alarm clock and get on the road by 8:30. We went to Another Broken Egg Cafe, which I had never heard of. It's seems it's a chain. It's in River Ranch which is the upscale part of Lafayette. At least they think they are upscale. My waffle was not hot and my eggs weren't cooked enough but I had plenty of hot coffee. I think the same meal would have been better at a Waffle House and cheaper. The only plus was the company. A friend and I went and wandered around At Home and I bought a clock for the camper. I went to Academy to get a portable wagon. I was thinking about getting the one for fishing but it was $55 more. The only difference was two rod holders and a small ice chest. I think I can add two rod holders so got the regular one.

Today is the first day it hasn't rained in a week and everyone was on the road. I should have taken a different route to get home. I ended up in a traffic jam at one of the major intersections. People kept blocking the intersection at every light change so no one could move. People started yelling and blowing their horns. I was so glad to get out of there. I drove past my house to see how high the water is and it is up to the first turn past my house. It's so deep no one can pass.

Anita, good luck with an ad on Facebook. People will drive you crazy asking questions and offering nothing.

Cute cartoon!

Martha, do you mean the "Broken Yolk Cafe"? We have them out here and they are a chain. Kind of a higher end breakfast and lunch place. I have been there a couple times and wasn't too impressed.

I stopped at the shop to get copies of my doctors notes about things I can't do at work because of my shoulder. I chatted with the manager. It sounds like they all want to just sweep this all under the rug and move on. She said I could meet with Jaz and have a talk with him. I said absolutely not. I need more than an apology (if I even got that out of him). I guess when I texted the owner about filing a written complaint against Jaz, he got very concerned. My old/new manager, Kat, told me they are trying to figure out what to do. She said she thinks they are getting worried. They should be.
Tonight I got an email from the owner saying he will be in town on Tuesday and Wednesday (he lives in Phoenix) and would like to talk with me while he is here. I wrote up the whole situation that happened that day and everything that was said that I remember. I think I will fax a copy to him so he has the whole story in writing before we meet.

Kat said she can't get me on her work schedule for another week! :o That is another week without pay for me. Only worked 2 days this past week after having 3 weeks off for my shoulder. Gonna make it hard to pay all my bills next month. I will have to dip into my savings to cover it all. I need to get my taxes finally figured out so I can get my refund for that.

I am really tired tonight so am going to bed early. It is really windy again tonight. I had the AC off all day so will see if I can leave the windows open again all night, if it isn't too loud from the wind.

On the way home from the shop I was almost home when I saw a huge dust devil! Way bigger than the one I saw last month! At first I thought it was smoke from a fire but then realized it was spinning like a rope. I went to grab my purse for my phone to take a photo when I got closer to it, but it wasn't on the seat next to me. Turns out I left my purse back at the shop! So instead of investigating the dust devil, I had to quick turn around and go back before they closed and get that. Lots of wasted gas to go all the way back and then back home again. ...and gas is $4 per gallon right now so I can't afford to waste any.

Have a good night. (I posted my gourd in the Arts & Crafts area).

Barbie, the name of the restaurant I went to is called Another Broken Egg Cafe. The food sounds like the one you went to. What ever my friend ordered wasn't much so I gave her half my waffle. The place was really busy and very noisy. I doubt I will ever go there again.

Martha, as they often do, your post made me smile. Reminded me of the time we went to a "high-endish" restaurant for breakfast. Had heard a lot of good things about this place, by this time it was about 10:00 a.m. and we were really hungry, and the place was packed.

We ordered the "silver dollar pancakes" (makes me hungry right now, maybe I need to go in the kitchen and make myself some pancakes after I get finished writing this 8-) ).

When the pancakes came, there were six of them - each one of them was the thickness and width of a silver dollar. :?

I think the bill worked out to about $1.75 per pancake, not including tip. We didn't leave a tip.

When we finished eating we were still hungry, so went home and made an actual breakfast.

Needless to say, we never went back.
