Tuesday May 18

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday May 18

Morning All, looks like another nice day. Been decluttering and rearranging stuff in anticipation of new recliner tomorrow, I’m so excited. Got the car wash mop from Amazon so going to daughters and wash the Forrester. The mop makes a quick job of washing and it’s refreshing on a warm day. Shiela, I have a magnet dry erase board on my fridge. I list chores, empty dishwasher, get the mail, etc. You know important things. :) Crossing them off gives me a sense of accomplishment. Shirl needs encouragement. Beth, I hope they aren’t working you too hard. Be safe

P.S. Sue, checking prices for IPads, not finished yet.

Mornin' Shirl & all that follow~~~

Got my 2nd vaccine so currently in the 'sit and wait' area. Fingers crossed for no reaction since I've for a 1 1/2 hour drive back to the CG.

Nothing majorly exciting has been happening. Finished the yearly doctor and dentist appointments but still seeing my chiro weekly. Wanted to have a memorial pizza GTG with my cousins since no luncheon was held last year when she passed, but that's not happening because of of short schedules. Did have Portillo's with cousin Roxanne. I will at least see my back up to Ma cousin. He can give the gifts I have for them when he sees them. Sad that when the last of a generation is gone, the family splinters, but it's the way of the world.

Other than that, everything is hunky dory! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning gals!

My shoulder is hurting this morning. :( Maybe I slept on it wrong but I don't usually sleep on that side. I finally got the OK for PT so I called to get an appointment. First one available isn't until June 3rd! Wow!

Still working on my gourd. Just a few more tweaks and then spray it with a sealer. I might have to go buy one tho. I think all my sealers are glossy and I want this one in a matte finish. It is a southwest pottery looking piece. I bought a small light box last month to use for taking photos of my gourds so I will try that out with this, once it is finished.

Nothing major planned today, just clean up my bedroom and kitchen areas. Maybe do another small load or two of laundry later. Back to work tomorrow.

Wind looks like it has finally calmed down some but I saw on the news last night that it is supposed to pick up again tonight thru Thursday. The Palisades fire is now 25% contained and most of the evacuation orders have been lifted. The suspect is in custody now. All good news! Hopefully, no new flare ups with the wind starting up again.

Have a good day!

There were storms training over me for about 3 hours last night and I got 4 inches. I never did lose power but the TV and internet was mostly off because I have satellite service. I had an appointment today at 1:30 and they called and cancelled. I was already thinking about cancelling. Then I saw Annie's butt. She licked and chewed a place raw last night so she has to go to the vet at 3:40 for a shot. It has only been raining lightly today but there is a bad area just to the West. Hopefully it will hold off for a while. If it starts raining hard I'll go in the truck.

Cheryl, hope the second shot is not bad. I drove 250 miles after my second shot and I was worn out. Probably not a smart thing to do. Being fully vaccinated is remarkably freeing. Just hope we don't have false hope.

I have been looking at portable wagons online. One would have come in handy at the campout for hauling things to the club house. Ever so often I think I need one but I just don't have anywhere to store it. There was something I was wanting to order last week but have already forgotten what I wanted. Good sign that I didn't really need it.

The TV just went off. I'll be luck if I can get this to post.

Martha, have you looked at the folding wagons? I had one in VIsta to haul stuff around my yard. They fold up nicely and are not too heavy. You can get them at WM for under $50.

Barbie, it's the folding wagons I'm looking at. I just don't have an outside compartment that I could put it in. When I'm on the road in the motorhome I have to store everything on the beds. When I'm parked, what was on the beds goes to the front seats. I probably travel with too much stuff but once I'm setup at a campground I don't want to have to go to town. Academy has one with holders for fishing poles. I'll probably get one like that if I decide to get one.

Good afternoon. Managed to get my butt over to Home Depot so I can start my vegetable drip system and get that going to make watering easier. I needed a hole punch for the drippers. Then since it was early I motated to Walmart. Managed to spend $140 but I needed quite a few groceries as I hadn't been for about 6 weeks. I needed laundry detergent, garbage bags, Dawn soap, paper plates.....doesnt take long to add up. Then there are the food items on top of that. But now I wont have to go back for quite a while. I want to hang my valance in my family room but came home had lunch, made a Caramel Mocha and now lost my motivation.....oh well there is always tomorrow.

Saw the flooding in Louisiana and the tornadoes in Texas YIKES We need some rain badly here. We are in an "extreme drought" which puts us in extreme risk for fires again. We have already had several but no really big ones yet. The news said we got a bit of rain last night but it was dry when I got up so wasn't much. We could use all 4 inches that Martha got and more.

Shirl, thanks for thinking of me. My bosses are awesome. Were really busy this week so they've been stripping and making all the beds and I've been cleaning. There were less turnovers today so I didn't expect them to continue doing it, but they did. I agreed to work 6 days if they keep that up the next couple days and they jumped on it. In other news, I had to change sites a couple days ago because of a problem with a sewer line. Today I changed again. I'm in new sites that are supposed to be just for overflow. And because of problems and weather, they've never got patios, etc. Since the maintenance guy feels guilty in my case, I can't get mad because I love him and his wife. They were here working all winter but also got Covid, so he had a rough time of it. (And she had the hip surgery just before I got here, so that's the dog Ty and and I have been walking occasionally. )And my bosses are trying to get me moved sometime mid-summer to a perfect site for me and my walk to work.

Cheryl, if you see Roxanne again, please say hi from me. And I hope the 2nd vaccine is as easy for you as it was for me. Martha I agree about the freeing feeling and the hoping it's not false hope.

Flooding, tornadoes, fires... All scary stuff.

Have a great evening everyone.

I had the "other" eye done today it's been amazing to see how bright and clear things are paper is whiter than it used to be... when I thought back to the surgery last week I thought I don't remember anything in the surgery room when the anesthesiologist saw me (he was there last week) he asked me what I remember from last week I said being on the bed going into the surgical room... he said you must have thought I was a liar when I said you'd feel pressure see a light ect then he said some times it happens one doesn't remember but that today might be different you might recall last weeks sorta a ...... where you think you have done this but not sure.. anyway I was more aware of what they were doing whether it was remembering last week or just being more aware... I don't know they must have flushed the eye quite a bit as my hair shirt and mask was damp... right now for distance wearing my glasses helps for close up even now while on the laptop having my glasses off is working out better... although if I am further away than arm length that statement goes out the window... we had a late lunch so wasn't hungry earlier now it sounds good not sure what it will be though...
tried to stay awake finally took a 30 min nap.. helped a lot
had good news and not good news in the last bit .... my niece is now a grandmother a little girl my brother has two daughter's kids expecting this summer the one just born and the other is a little boy due in Sept my great is due also in Sept and is also a boy.
but then he has a daughter who found out she has an aggressive breast cancer I know that she would appreciate prayers and good thoughts from anyone so inclined it's her daughter who is expecting in Sept...
I don't know if I mentioned it but Kerry had surgery on Friday is doing better but still in hospital possibly going home tomorrow...
you all have a good night and day

I cleaned up my bedroom and got two small loads of laundry ready to go... Didn't get to the kitchen. I still had some shoulder pain so I laid down on the love seat and fell asleep for a few hours. I did work on my gourd some and it looks pretty good now. It is all ready to be sprayed with a sealer now. Will pick some up after work tomorrow.

The wind is starting to pick up some now. It has been hot and humid today. Both will be dropping for a couple days now with the winds coming thru.

The guy who started the Palisade fire is a homeless guy. I guess he got injured (probably burned) and went to the hospital for treatment and they arrested him there. Well, he won't be homeless anymore. He will be living in jail for quite awhile.

Off to bed...
