Monday Afternoon

Everyone must be busy today. I'm making chicken soup as it is cool and cloudy here. I've been reading the suggestions to keep deer out of your yards and garden, good luck!! For a long time they didn't jump our 4 foot high fence but there are so many now they just hop right over. We see herds of 20+ sometimes running the neighborhood! I don't let the dogs out to chase them out of the yard as I don't want to give Emma ideas about jumping the fence. None of the deterrents we have used worked. They ate quite a bit of the bark off of a young tree outside the fence and we wrapped it and it lived. They particularly like Hosta and Day Lillies. Of course with the deer come the ticks. I've seen several possums the last few years and they seem to be helping with the ticks. We live across from a big wooded area so we see a lot of wildlife.

I woke up around 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep I need a nap but it's too late in the day.

Well I dont think we have many deer. I have yet to see any. But we shall see. I dont live by any forests or anything so hoping this will work.

All settled at my friends house in Medford. We aren't going anywhere today, just kicking back relaxing. Pizza for dinner and a movie. Tomorrow I have my Rheumatologist check up appt. Wednesday nothing scheduled. Maybe a carwash. Thursday eye scan and injection then Friday eye injection and will head home. Nice to get out of town and not such a quick trip.

I went out to eat with my meetup group tonight. We went to a Noodle Bar and Grill. It was ok but I don't think I need to go back. Our next meal is on the 22nd, a Saturday morning at 10:00. I kind of doubt I will make it to Lafayette on a Saturday morning.

Most of the rain missed us down here but there is suppose to be more coming tomorrow.

The campout I'm going to this coming weekend is one of the theme campouts, 50's-60's Tiki Party. I'm not buying a dress I'll never wear again. I have a print blouse that will have to do. Does anyone know a Polynesisn dish? This campground has a swimming pool so need to find my bathing suit. Maybe it will be warm enough to swim.

choose a Island like Tonga they are all part of the Polynesian area I think
My bil was part Filipino love their Adobo fairly easy to make if you want I will see if I can find the recipe
or look up recipes using spam that seems to be a favorite ingredient
also do a search either FB or google
back home mom is back at my brother's
eye surgery tomorrow need to not eat or drink after midnight so need to go and get some water did already have my hot chocolate but water is needed and only little over 1/2 hour to go why is it that we crave something when we know we can't have it????
am thinking I won't crochet tonight looking at the time guess we will see. my day was all off ... thought brother would pick up mom early but nope in my thoughts when I had him picking her up by say noon I would have afternoon to do my normal stuff but that didn't happen so here it is 11:25 and still on computer got most of my stuff put away still have yarn on couch can't find my check book use the register in it daily must have left it at mom's no idea when someone will be going that way guess I will need to get a new one... drat!!!
so guess I need to go get that drink of water and do something (as my mom would say) right or wrong!!!

Sheila, I'll look up some recipes. I usually have a package of the individual Spam slices in the camper for emergency food. I saw a can of Turkey Spam and put a can in the camper to try it. I made a sandwich the other day with the Turkey Spam. I haven't had acid reflux in a long time but after the Turkey Spam I had to take some Pepcid.

You should be ok if your not seeing a lot of deer. We didn't have any trouble with deer jumping the fence until they clear cut part of the woods across the road.
